Day 30 - The Daily Marker Thirty Day Colouring Challenge #thedailymarker30day

It's the last day of "The Daily Marker Thirty Day Colouring Challenge".

I am one of those people that when I set my mind on something like a challenge, that I generally see it through to the end.  But I am glad that I have managed to do all thirty days as November has been a busy month of makes with Design Team work and several occasions to make cards for.

For my card, I have used a Penny Black stamp called "Caroling Bunch - 1867K" which is part of the year 2000 Margaret Sherry Collection. I've coloured the stamped Versafine Ink image with water colour pencils.

Penny Black 'You're a Treasure" Wedding Card

I've used a Penny Black wood mounted stamp called "You're a Treasure".  I stamped the image in Versafine "Stormy Gray" ink and coloured the image with a mix of Distress Oxide Inks and water colour pencils.

Once the image was dry, I die cut the heart shape around the hedgehogs and stamped the "Wedding Day" sentiment, again in "Stormy Gray" Versafine Ink.

For the background, I used a Crafters Companion "Scaninavian Christmas" embossing folder.  I brayered  "Tattered Lace" Distress Oxide Ink over the embossed detail.

Once dry, I cut the embossed detail into a square and mounted it onto grey coloured cardstock.  Using foam pads, i mounted the hedgehog/heart image on to the embossed background.

Day 3 - The Thirty Day Colouring Challenge #thedailymarker30day

I seem to be on a roll with this colouring challenge and I am really enjoying taking a step back, finding the whole colouring thing very relaxing.

I was thinking that Remembrance Sunday is not far off and remembering my Father-in-law taking our boys to the local parade when they were young.  The boys were representing the Scouts and Beavers in their outfits and my Father-in-law, John, so proud of his RAF past.  So this was the trigger for the Day 3 colouring.

I rummaged through my stamps and came across a Penny Black clear stamp set called "Blooming Marvelous".  I stamped the poppies in Versafine "Stormy Gray" ink and then coloured the image with water colour pencils and a brush.

I found a word stamp saying "grateful" which I thought was apt so added that to the card and a little bug, courtesy of a Lavinia stamp set.

Week 45 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 45 is "Circles / Bokeh"

I decided to go with pastel coloured over-lapping circles for the background of my tag.  I used a Visible Image stamp set called "You are not alone" to stamp the three sizes of circles in Versafine "Stormy Gray" coloured ink.

I coloured the circles using my water colour pencils and a paint brush.  I used a yellow, green, blue, pink and purple colours.  On some of the circles, I have given them a glitter finish by using Stickles "Crystal", which gives a subtle beautiful shimmer.

Once the Stickles were dry, I moved on to stamping the dog.  I'm not sure who makes this stamp, but I do recall it cost about a pound.  I stamped the image across the tag using Versafine Clair "Purple Delight" shade of ink.  Using the same ink, I stamped the words.  I've had this set of word stamps for over ten years so I have no idea who made them, apologies for that.

Have a great week.

Design Team Make for "My Time To Craft Challenge Blog" (388) - Winter Birthday (Lavinia Stamps)

This is a Design Team card I have made for the "My Time To Craft Challenge Blog" on the theme of "Winter Birthday".  Please do pop over and take a look at the fab creations from my fellow DT colleagues.

For my card, I started by using water colour pencils with a paint brush to paint the sky and the land.

Using a Lavinia Stamp called "Trees", I repeat stamped the image across the card using Versafine "Vintage Sepia" ink.  I added the Lavinia Stamp "Birds" stamped in Versafine "Stormy Grey".

I continued to build up the image with adding more depth with the water colour.  I then cut the image down to 4x4" and mounted it onto brown card.  At this stage I added some icy/frosty sparkle using a silver glitter Signo Pen.

I cut a piece of plain paper to 4x4 size, positioned it in the middle of a plain card and marked where the line of trees was, then stamped the same tree image across card from side to side.  I lifted the paper mask and then positioned and stuck the water colour image down.

The Papertrey Ink sentiment, from their "Winter Hills" set was stamped in Versafine "Vintage Sepia" ink to finish the card.

Week 2 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 2 of the challenge is "New".

This could be new stash, baby, home, year, shoes, phone, diary the choice is endless.  I opted for "New Year, New Diet" for my Week 2 tag.

I used one of the free stamps in issue 66 of Creative Stamping magazine for the main image, stamped in Versafine "Black Onyx" ink and coloured with Promarkers.

I gave the background a wash using a paintbrush and colour from a water colour pencil.  Once dry, I randomly stamped the tape measure (which came in the same set as the main image), in Versafine "Stormy Grey" ink.  I filled in the area with silver dots using a Signo pen.  I then inked the edges and surface of the tag using two shades of Colorbox ink.

Finally, using a ProvoCraft rolling alphabet stamp I stamped the words "New Year and New Diet" . I cut the words down and gave the surface a rub with ink, then drew a box around each word before positioning them raised on the tag using foam pads.

Tree With Ornaments (Hero Arts) Christmas Card

For more years that I care to remember I have made Christmas cards using the Hero Arts "Tree With Ornaments" stamp.  It has to be my most used stamp and the results never disappoint.

Finally, I added some twinkly gold shimmer using a Sakura Jelly Roll Pen.

Look To The Sky Card

Today I have been playing with more Lavinia Stamps creating this card.

I wasn't in the mood to get very messy, so opted for a sheet of Shenandoah, Natural Wonders patterned paper.  After studying it, I decided on the area that I would work on, as I could see sky, hills, water and rocks in the image.  I then cut it down to size.

I started by using the Lavinia Stamps "Tree Scene (LAV219)" along the shoreline in the distance, stamped in Versafine "Smokey Grey" ink.  I then stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Small Reindeer (LAV487)", the Lavinia Stamps "Birds (LAV097)",  the Lavinia Stamps "Small Fairy Fir Tree (LAV492) and finally the Lavinia Stamps "Spanish Moss Foliage (LAV505)" all stamped in Versafine "Onyx Black".

I then used a brush with water colour pencils to highlight colours in specific areas.  Finally, I used a pencil to create the look of shadows on the water beneath the tree line in the distance.

I have entered this card into #82 "Moving Along With The Times" Challenge.

I have also entered this into the Crafty Cats #433 Weekly Challenge.
