Penny Black Stamps "Winter Wander 40-356" Card

Well it is grim outside.  I woke to hear the rain lashing down, so I've made a bright and cheerful card.

For the vibrant background colouring, I have blended a selection of Lavinia Element inks.  These are the inks that I used, in the order I used them in from the bottom of the card:

  • Sundance
  • Sahara
  • Russet Orange
  • Confetti
  • Emperor Red
  • Merlot
  • Mulberry
  • Dark Denim
  • Graphite
I wafted the heat gun over the surface to ensure it was dry before the I used Versafine Clair 'Nocturne" black ink to stamp the Penny Black "Winter Wander 40-356" stamp, using my stamping platform, which allowed me to re-ink the stamp to get full black coverage of ink.

Finally, I mounted the image on to a piece of black card and then on to a bright yellow card blank.

Penny Black Inc "Sprigs 30-284" card

I've used a small off-cut of a previous project (using Distress Oxide Spray Inks) for the background of this card.

I've stamped the Penny Black Inc "Sprigs 30-294" clear stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  I've used a white gel pen for highlights.

Penny Black Inc "Fall Flourish 40-783" birthday card

I've been away at the caravan for the past ten days, so there has been minimal paper crafting.  I have been able to do a little hand sewing though.

I packed a small box of papercrafting items, just in case I wanted to faff with inks etc.  As it turned out, it was handy that I did, as one evening I had an urge to play, making this card.

I used the Penny Black "Fall Flourist 40-783" cling stamp and the sentiment from one of their clear stamp sets (You're retro 30-239).  I stamped in Versafine Clair inks and coloured using Derwent Inktense pencils and a 2B pencil.

Once home,  used the Funky Fossil Designs "Micro Dots" stencil with "Tea Dye" Distress Oxide ink.

Penny Black "Skyward 40-500" on a Brusho background

Sometimes, I find it nice to have a play without any agenda, no planning, just seeing what I end up with when I'm done. This is one of those makes.

I had a quick Brusho play session, thowing colours down and seeing what I ended up with.  Once dry, I really couldn't think how I could use it.  But decided to stamp the tree, which is a Penny Black cling stamp called "Skyward 40-500" in Versafine Clair Nocturne, black ink.  I then coated it in Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.

The more I look at this, the more it reminds me of a church window!

Penny Black "Guess What?" Birthday Card

I am now working on the birthday cards needed for March.  This one is needed early in the month.

I used two Penny Black stamps for this card.  For the main image, I used an old wood mounted stamp called "Guess What? - T449K", part of the Margaret Sherry Collection and has been around since the year 2000! I stamped this image in Versafine Clair 'Morning Mist" Grey ink.

I then used the Penny Black Slapstick/Cling "Windswept - 40-790" which is a 2021 release, which I stamped in Verafine Clair "Verdant" green ink.  Funny how these stamps were produced twenty years apart, but work so well with each other.

I coloured the image with an assortment of products, mainly using Distress Oxide inks applied with a paint brush.  I also used Derwent Inktense Pencils and gel roll pens.

The sentiment is part of a Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Birthday" which I have stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Penny Black "Merriest" Christmas Card

This morning, I decided to play with a Penny Black cling stamp called "Merriest" 40-797, which I paired with another Penny Black sentiment stamp set called "Beauty of the Season" 30-254.

I stamped both the sentiment and the main image in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink, although the main image was stamped in second and third generation ink, to achieve a "suggestion" of the image.

I coloured the image with a selection of Distress Oxide Inks, applied with a paint brush.  I also used some coloured pencils and a white Posca Pen to create the lok of snow flakes.

Penny Black "Delicate Florals 40-103" Card

I have a thing for Penny Black stamps.  I really don't care whether they're wood mounted, slapstick or clear,  I just love their designs.

For this card, I've been playing with a Penny Black stamp set called "Delicate Florals" (40-103), which is a foam mounted/red rubber cling stamp set with three designs on the one sheet.

I stamped the floral image a couple of times using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.  Using the same ink, I stamped the sentiment, which is from a Crafters Companion stamp set called "Fly Away" from their "Fluttery By Collection".

I used "Festive Berries" Distress Oxide Ink for the flowers, starting with a diluted ink and building up the colour, applied with a paint brush.  For the leaves, I used "Rustic Wilderness" green ink.

Day 30 - The Daily Marker Thirty Day Colouring Challenge #thedailymarker30day

It's the last day of "The Daily Marker Thirty Day Colouring Challenge".

I am one of those people that when I set my mind on something like a challenge, that I generally see it through to the end.  But I am glad that I have managed to do all thirty days as November has been a busy month of makes with Design Team work and several occasions to make cards for.

For my card, I have used a Penny Black stamp called "Caroling Bunch - 1867K" which is part of the year 2000 Margaret Sherry Collection. I've coloured the stamped Versafine Ink image with water colour pencils.

Day 28 - The Daily Marker Thirty Day Colouring Challenge #thedailymarker30day

The end of "The Daily Marker Thirty Day Colouring Challenge" is in sight, just two more and then it is done and dusted.  As you may have noticed, I don't follow the daily prompts.  Today is brown and I don't really do brown, so I've used colours that please me.

I decided to opt for a tag today and this one I've created screams Christmas to me, which makes me happy.

I started off by using a stamped image from a Penny Black wood mounted stamp called "Joy! - 2258K" which was a 2001 Donna Klotzie design.  I stamped the image in Versafine and coloured it with Distress Oxide Inks.

I used a Distress Oxide Ink called "Pine Needles' to colour the edges.  I then popped an "Andy Skinnner - Tornado Stencil" over the top and using a wet wipe, removed some of the ink, which gave the lovely swirl look in the background.

Finally, I used some white Gesso on a fan brush and gently tapped the brush so that droplets fell on to the tag to replicate snow.  A red ribbon finishes the tag beautifully.
