Stampin' Up Sympathy Cards

Sadly, I needed to make a couple of quick sympathy cards, making these two using Stampin' Up stamps.

For the top card, I used the wood mounted Stampin' Up set called "Faith In Nature" for the flower, stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink and given a subtle hint of pink using the ink left on my blending brush.  I used a Simon Says Stamp sentiment from their "Tiny Words" stamp set, also stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" ink.  I added some dots of yellow and orange Posca pens to the central area of the flower.

For the lower card, I used Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink to stamp the flower and sentiment which are both part of the Stampin' up wood mounted stamp set called "Hopeful Thoughts".

Stampin' Up "Nature's Nest" Pregnancy Card

While I'm waiting for some ink and glossy accents to dry on a card, I made this CAS pregnancy card.

I stamped the nest with eggs, which is part of the Stampin' Up "Nature's Nest" wood mounted stamp set, in Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink.  I then stamped the "Baby Is Brewing" sentiment, which is part of a Papertrey Ink clear stamp set called "Favor It Baby 2074" also stamped in Acorn brown ink.

I coloured the nest and eggs using Derwent Inktense pencils applied with a paint brush.

Spellbinders "Wreath DCS-011" Christmas Card

I've been coughing the past couple of days and sadly have tested positive for Covid!  To be honest at this moment I could cry.  I have made so many plans for Christmas, it will be the first time we will have spent Christmas with the Grandchildren and it was to be at our house too.  I'm really not sure if they'll be coming or not.  It all hangs in the balance.

I have attempted to occupy my mind by making a card.  I've used the Spellbinders "Wreath DCS-011" cling stamp, stamped in a fade out ink and coloured with Derwent Inktense Water Colour Pencils, applied with a brush.  I've also used a 2B pencil for extra detail.

The sentiment is part of a Stampin' Up stamp set called "Winter Memories" and is stamped in two shades of Versafine Clair "Tulip Red" and then "Chianti" ink, die cut into a banner and adhered to the card using foam pads.

Finally, I added splatters to replicate snow, using Dr Ph. Martins Bleed Proof white paint and a fan shaped brush.

Our friend, who is a tiler celebrates his birthday today, so I made him a card with a Metro Tile style background, using the Funky Fossil Brick Wall stencil with "Speckled Egg" Distress Oxide Ink and a heat embossed Versafine Clair ink sentiment using the Stampin' up "Big on Birthdays" stamp set.

Autumn Thanks Card

I don't often use Kraft cardstock, but as I was planning an Autumn type card I decided it would be the perfect base. Some time ago, I had rescued a ribbon from some flowers, so I decided to use that as the central focal area with a green strip behind it to add some colour.

I used Stampin' Up "Vintage Leaves" stamps & "Leaflet Framelit" dies, the leaves were inked in various Autumnal shades.  I also used a Sizzix die called "Back To Nature #2".

I stamped the sentiment (Stampin' Up - Thoughtful Branches) and then die cut two oval shapes to be mounted one on top of the other and then after a lot of debate stuck everything down.  However I wasn't happy with it - so much so that I was close to putting it in the bin.

I decided to sleep on it and fortunately, inspiration struck in the middle of the night, which resulted in me getting up and faffing with the card while it was still dark outside.  I am happier with it now.

A Little Thanks Card

This frog stamp was one in the free set from Simply Cards & Papercraft (issue 153) magazine. The sentiment is from a Stampin' Up set called "One Big Meaning".

I used Faber Castell pastels for colour and highlighted ares with a subtle gold colour using a Sakura Gelly Roll Pen.

Swimmingly Card & Tag

Another night if minimal sleep so I made this card.

Mainly Stampin' Up products used. Embossed card using the "Seaside" embossing folder.  The fish, anchor & sentiment are from the "Seaside Shore" set of stamps.  On a roll, I also made this card using the same set.

I also made these tags using off cuts of patterned paper.

Floral Heart Card

While in bed this morning, my mind turned to ways to use the Stampin' Up "Detailed Floral Thinlit Dies". Nothing like striking while the iron is hot, I got up and made this card.

In hindsight, I should have embossed the cerise background to add a little interest, which I may do if I make another version of this card.

Without using a sentiment, I think this card can be very versatile covering several occasions.
