The Forget Me Not Kraft Kabin Retreat - May 2019

I have been away for the weekend at a crafting retreat held by Sharon Everett of the "The Forget Me Not Kraft Kabin" who have a bricks and mortar shop in Essex.

The venue for the retreat was "Dunston Hall" in Norwich, a beautiful hotel with a golf course and spa (I didn't have time for either).  For me, the retreat couln't have been much further away, travelling by train from Anglesey across country to East Anglia but it was certainly worth it.

Over the weekend there were three workshops with three different tutors.  Tracey Scott, Eileen Godwin and Marion Emberson.

Unfortunately, I woke very early Saturday morning with a migraine so wasn't able to attend the workshop by Tracey.  I sat in on the workshop by Eileen in the afternoon (I've known her on-line for many years, so it was fabulous to meet in person), but went back to bed, as I was still feeling poorly.  I was so annoyed with myself for missing these as this retreat had been planned for over a year.

Fortunately, I was feeling better by the evening and was able to join the group for dinner and a make-and-take with Sharon Everett.

On Sunday morning, I took part in the workshop given by Marion Emberson who is a WOW embossing powder ambassador.

In the past, I have only done heat embossing, so it was great to see other ways that you can heat emboss.  I made the canvas above at the workshop.

It consists of normal embossing with a stamp, creating an enamel effect tile (there should be a photo on there, but I managed to lose it).  We were shown a Melt-it pouring technique and also how to use embossing powders on textures.  I loved it all and would love to attend another one of Marion's workshops in the future.

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and after a mammoth 9 hour train journey back to Anglesey, I got in at 1:45am, still wired I was still awake at 3:30am, so this morning I am feeling more than a little second hand!
