New Home Card #laviniastamps

For this "New Home" cad, I created a background using Distress Oxide ink pads in the following shades:  Tumbled Glass, Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac, Salty Ocean, Twisted Citron and finally Antique Linen.

I then stamped the trees in the background using Lavinia Stamps "Single Skeleton Tree", "Fern Leaf" and the "Birds".  I then stamped the "Bella's House" three times on plain card (all of these were stamped in different shades of Versafine Ink).  Using Distress Inks, I masked off the bottom area of the card to create a landscape.

I coloured the houses in with Promarkers, cut them out and then positioned onto the card, sticking the central one with foam pads so that it was elevated.  I added touches of silver glitter to areas on the houses and the trees using a Signo Pen.

Finally, I added a Papertrey Ink stamped sentiment from their "Love Lives Here" stamp set, stamped in Versafine "Black Onyx".  I punched a small grey coloured heart and stuck it above the chimney of the central house to replicate smoke.

3rd Birthday Card - Stamper Anonymous - On The Farm

Our little Grand Son Jacob, is celebrating his 3rd Birthday.  Jakie is our little star.  He was born with Downs Syndrome and had a very difficult first year, mostly spent in hospital.  He is a little behind other children of the same age but he is the most loving little fella you could wish to meet.

In making this card I wanted to make him laugh, so I positioned the farm animal on top of each other.  The animal stamps are part of a set by Stampers Anonymous and is called "On The Farm CMS303".  I stamped the animals in different shades of Versafine ink and coloured with Promarkers.

Using a wash of Distress Oxide paints, I created the background colour.  When dry, I stamped the line of trees using a Lavinia Stamp called "Trees" stamped in Versafine "Smokey Grey" ink.

The grass tufts and orange flowers are stamps from a Papertrey Ink stamp set called "Love Lives Here", stamped in Versafine Clair ink.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment at the top of the card.  The "3rd" was part of a free set of stamps from a magazine.  The "Happy Birthday" stamps I have had for years and don't recall who made them.

Design Team Make 28th December 2018 (Something New) - My Time To Craft Challenge #387

It's time for another prompt from the "My Time To Craft Challenge Blog", this time the prompt is "Something New".

I went rummaging in my paper off-cuts box to make this card.  It's nice to make something out of nothing.  I used a Papertrey Ink die from the "Love Lives Here" set for the house shape.  I die cut a couple of nesting circles, stuck them together and added the little house shape and added a contrasting heart for the centre of the house.

The sentiment is from a Hobby Art set called "General Greetings", stamped in a Memento ink, in a "Rhubarb Stalk" shade.  I then mounted the card onto a piece of matching patterned paper (which was from the Pretty Posy stack I'd purchased from The Range, some time ago.

Visible Image "Reason To Smile" Tag

For this tag I used a Distress ink background and a Visible Image stamp called "Reason To Smile" stamp for the sentiment.  The little flowers, I used a tiny Papertrey Ink stamp from their "Love Lives Here" set.  I also added some white dots, to break up the intense colour using a Signo Pen.

New Home Card

My neighbours have lived next door to us for about twenty years.  They move house shortly so I wanted to make a card for them.

I used a set that came with issue 175 of Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine a few months back.  I die cut the house and roof and coloured everything with Promarkers.

The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set called " "Love Lives Here" stamped in a Versafine Clair ink

Week 20 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2018

I feel a bit at sea this week as my laptop is in for repair and I’m posting this on my phone. It feels very strange.

The prompt for Week 20 is “Butterflies”

I started my tag with a piece of pale pink card. I used Distress Inks through a hydrangea stencil I had from a magazine a while back.

I then added more detail to the flowers by using Promarkers and a Signo pen to fill in the area of the flower head. I also inked the background in green Distress Inks.

I used an Oak House Studio text stamp and a Crafters Companion stamp from their “Flutterby” collection for the sentiment.

I found an off cut of paper coloured with alcohol Inks, so I used two dues to cut the butterfly shapes. A Papertrey Ink die from their “Love Lives Here” set and a Stampin’ Up due from their “Butterflies Thinlits” set.  I backed the large butterfly die cut with velum.

Week 8 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2018

The prompt for Week 8 is:  Repeat Patterns (this was inspired by looking at wallpaper,

For this week, I couldn't make my mind up what I wanted to do.  As I finished one tag, another idea popped up, so hopefully this prompt should be an easy one to interpret.

For this tag, I stamped the same image in different colours.  The stamp is from the Stampin' Up set called "Totally Trees".

For this stamp, I used a piece of patterned paper with hearts on it.  I then placed a stencil over the top and shaded in lines.  A stamped sentiment, using a Papertrey Ink stamp from their "Love Lives Here" set was used in the middle.  Then the edges were inked.  Finally, I used a Promarker to colour four wooden hearts and stuck them to the middle of the tag.

On this final tag, I used a background of assorted Tim Holtz Distress Inks, and then used a stencil over the top to create the zig zag look.  I then die cut and applied the dogs.

Embossed Valentine's Card

Well Valentine's Day has really crept up on me this year, so I thought I had better make a card.  Hubby would never forgive me if I purchased one, as I have so much craft stuff about!

I prefer to make a smaller size card and quite often go for a clean and simple look.  For this card, I used a "Tri-boss" embossing folder to get the textured background.

I die cut two hearts.  Stuck one to the card and then added sticky gems to the other.  I mounted them on top of each other using a foam pad to provide a 3D look.

Finally, using a Papertrey Ink stamp from their "Love Lives Here" set, I stamped the sentiment using a "Black Cherry" StazOn ink.

The embossed detail doesn't show too much, so I have made a little video clip which is on the Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/ACraftingNiche/videos/398711857244827/

Week 12 - 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2017

The prompt for Week 12 is "Home".

"Home" means many things to many people.  For my tag, I thought about my Hubby being "my home".

I started by blending some Panpastels to create the shaded background.  I used one stamp set for the detail.  It's by Papertrey Ink and is called "Love Lives Here" it is actually a stamp and die set.

I finished the tag with small dots using a white pen, to the centres of the flowers and added pearls to the hearts at the base of the tag.

Many Hands Make Light Work Tag

Today I've been playing with a tag and the new Papertrey Ink "Love Lives Here" stamps.

Firstly I stamped the sentiment in the middle of the tag (using Memento ink), then masked it with a stick piece of paper.  Next I used a Creative Expressions Chicken Wire stamp to give the chicken wire look.  I then inked the middle with a turquoise colour and the edges of the tag were coloured in various shades of blue, red and silver.

On a blank piece of cardstock, I stamped the hand shapes then added the heart detail with a stamp.  I cut these out and stuck them to the tag.  I then stamped some small blue flowers within the hexagon shapes and stuck a few silver look embellishments to finish the tag.

Heart and Circles Card

Today I've been playing with the same two sets of stamps from yesterday.  Stampin' Up "Seeing Spots" and Papertrey Ink "Love Lives Here".

I used the "Seeing Spots" for the background pattern for this card and the central area used the "Love Lives Here" stamp set.
