Funky Fossil Designs New Stamp Release Day - Funky Florals

Today is the day!  At 9am, today Saturday 28th March,  Funky Fossil Designs will be launching five brand new clear stamp sets.  I have used one of the new sets, "Funky Florals" on this MDF heart.

To celebrate the release there's a 10% discount of everything in store.  Use the code MARCH10 at checkout before midnight on Monday 30th March!

I started by coating a Funky Fossil Curved Hanging Heart with white Gesso on both sides of the heart.  The Gesso works like a primer and helps other mediums to adhere to the MDF.

Once the Gesso was dry, I then coated one side with PaperArtsy Chalk Acrylic "Caribbean Sea" paint.

Once dry, I used white Gesso through the Funky Fossil "Petal Burst" stencil.  This will be the front of the heart.  I then set aside to dry.

Once dry, I started to work on the reverse side.  Already white with a coating of Gesso, I used the same Funky Fossil "Petal Burst" stencil, this time using the PaperArtsy "Caribbean Sea" chalk acrylic which I'd used on the front.  I set it aside to dry.

While the MDF was drying, I stamped the cluster of flowers from the new stamp set called "Funky Florals" using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  I coloured the image using coloured pencils and a black fine tip pen and fussy cut the image.

I adhered the stamped image onto the front of the painted MDF heart.  I coloured an MDF bird, part of a Funky Fossil "MDF Minis" set with a black sharpie pen and adhered onto the heart.

Finally, I adhered an MDF sentiment, part of the Funky Fossil "Positive Words" set, that I had initially coated with white Gesso and then given a coat of PaperArtsy "Snowflake" chalk acrylic paint to the heart.

For this sample, I have used the new "Happy Words" set.

I have used the "Happy Birthday" sentiment , stamped in Versafine Clair "Paradise" blue ink, on a background I have stencilled using several shades of Distress Oxide Ink through the Funky Fossil "Petal Burst" stencil.

Funky Fossil Designs January 2020 New Stamp Release - Blooming Birthday

It's Saturday 25th January which is lauch day for five fabulous new clear stamp sets from Funky Fossil Designs.  For this card, I have used the new "Blooming Birthday" set.

I started by creating the background using the Funky Fossil "Petal Burst" stencil in a different way to how I would usually use it.

Petal Burst Stencil

I lay the stencil on a piece of plain copy paper and lightly ran an assortement of Distress Ink colours over the surface of the stencil.  I then spritzed the inks and lay a piece of card over the inked stencil.  The soft fragmented image transfers to the card.

I stamped half of the "Blooming Birthday" flower garland in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.  I then stamped the flower heads in a purple colour on plain white card, coloured with felt pens then fussy cut and adhered into position.

I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Clair "Fantasia" purple ink.

New Baby Card

Our neighbours have recently had a new arrival to their family, so I made this card for them.

A couple of days ago, I was experimenting printing backgrounds using stencils.  For this background I have used a Funky Fossil stencil called "Petal Burst".

This background is actually the result of me cleaning off the stencil with a wet wipe.  As I wiped, the colour filled the gaps in the stencil on to the card below. It was too good to throw away, so I kept it for a future project.

I cut the image down to size so that it was square.  Using Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" shade of ink, I stamped the baby image, which is part of the Visible Image stamp set called "Bloom and Grow".

I stamped the Papertrey Ink sentiment (part of the "Signature Greetings" set) in the same ink.  Then mounted the card on to some matching cardstock.

I have entered this card into the June 2019 "A Place to Start" stencil challenge.
