Lavinia Stamps Max and Pipin Baby Card

Following on from a post I made yesterday, here's another new baby card I've made.  I have used the Lavinia Stamps "Pipin" and "Max" hare stamps, stamped in Versafine Clair "Medieval Blue" ink.  I have used the same ink for the Personal Impressions "Double Sayings" sentiments.  Finally I painted some grassas a base for the hares using "Mowed Lawn" Distress Oxide inks.

Lavinia Stamps Hare new baby card

Isn't it funny.  You go ages without making a new baby card and then you hear of several due all around the same time.  I may roll out this design for future cards as it's a nice quick make.

I used an Indigo Blu red rubber stamp called "Square peg, round hole - SPRH" for the background circle with ""Tumbled Glass" Distress Oxide Inks.

I used the Lavinia Stamps "Whimsical Hares" stamp for the leaping hare design around the edge of the circle, stamped in Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" teal coloured ink.

In the centre of the circle, I stamped a larger Lavinia Stamps hare called "Max" in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Using the "Warm Breeze" ink again, I stamped the sentiments, which are part of a stamp set by Personal Impressions called "Double Sayings".

Wild Rose Studio "Bella Sleeping - New Baby Card

I needed to make a new baby boy card, so used one of my "Wild Rose Studio" stamps to be the main image of my card.

The stamp I used is called "Bella Sleeping" which I stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

I coloured the image using a paint brush and my water colour pencils.

I used a Cuttlbug embossing folder with a daisy design for the background.

The sentiment is from a Personal Impressions stamp set called "Double Sayings", stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink and die cut using a Simon Says "Nested Banners" die set.

Wild Rose Studio - "New Baby" Card

Another new baby card made today.  This time I have used a brand of stamp that is new to me called "Wild Rose Studio" which is a UK based company.

I used the Wild Rose Studio stamp called "New Baby - CL221" stamped onto white card using Versafine Clair "Verdant" which is a lovely spring coloured green colour.

I coloured the flowers using Arteza Inkonic fine line pens, adding the pink to the lace and bed cover using a Distress Oxide Ink in the shade of "Spun Sugar".  

Using a finger dabber, I added more green to the background using the Verdant ink I had stamped with and for the sky, I used a finger dabber with "Tumbled Glass" Distress Oxide Ink.

I stamped the Personal Impressions "Double Sayings PICSA6104" sentiment using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Memory Box Circle Burst - New Baby Card

Another new baby is due any day, so I have made this card for my Brother and Sister-in-law who will become grandparents for the first time to a little girl.

I have used the Memory Box "Large Circle Burst (98478) die to create the decorative background, mounted onto a piece of pale pink card.

On the elevated central circle, I have used a Papertrey Ink sentiment from their "Movers & Shakers Sentiment" stamp set, the small line at the base of the card saying "all the blessings a new baby brings" is also from the same set, both stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Inside the card, I have used an "Inkwell Stamp" sentiment.

New Baby Card, using Lavinia Stamps

My friends became Grandparents recently, so I made a card for them.  I used the stamps that I knew were her favourite Lavinia Stamps.

I created a background using assorted colours of Distress Oxide Inks.  For the sky area, I used Antique Linen, Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky.  For the lower area, I used Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint.  I used the swooshing and a paint brush techniques to fill the area.

I used an assortment of Lavinia Stamps to build up the image, starting with "Sacred Spells" script stamp, stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  Using the same ink, I created the landscape lines by dragging the ink across the torn edge of copy paper. 

I stamped the "Celestial Tree"  in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink then the "Midnight Meandering" in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" ink.

Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, I stamped the "Large Owl", the "Tree Branch", "Pipin" the baby hare, the "Fern Heads", the "Willow" and the "Mini Slender Mushrooms".

Finally, I added white highlights to areas using a Posca Pen.  I stamped the sentiment on the front of the card using a "Personal Impressions" stamp called "Double Sayings".  The sentiment I used inside the card is a stamp I have had for many years by Inkwell Stamps.  Both sentiments are stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Funky Fossil Designs "Woodland Wishes" - New Baby Card

I'd ordered a die, just over a week ago on-line from an American company called "123Stitch.com" The die wasn't available to purchase in the UK, but fortunately it arrived yesterday - what fab customer service for it to arrive so soon,  so of course I had to have a play.

The die in question is a "Memorybox Large Circle Burst Die" which I ran through my Sizzix Big Shot to create the circular dot pattern.  I then mounted it on to a piece of cerise pink card (excluding the inner circle area).

On the inner circle, I stamped a little bunny from the Funky Fossil Designs "Woodland Wishes" clear stamp set, using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink, (I didn't want the outline to be too harsh which I would have got had I used black ink). I also stamped it a second time on an off-cut of white card.

I coloured the image on the off-cut of card using my Arteza coloured pencils.  I cut out the image and mounted it over the bunny stamped on the circle using Stix2 clear foam pads.  I then mounted the circle onto the card using Stix2 clear foam on a roll, this gave the card some dimension.

Finally, using a Personal Impressions sentiment stamp from their "Double Sayings - PICSA6104" set I stamped "It's a girl" using Versafine Clair "Charming Pink" ink.

New Baby Card

Our neighbours have recently had a new arrival to their family, so I made this card for them.

A couple of days ago, I was experimenting printing backgrounds using stencils.  For this background I have used a Funky Fossil stencil called "Petal Burst".

This background is actually the result of me cleaning off the stencil with a wet wipe.  As I wiped, the colour filled the gaps in the stencil on to the card below. It was too good to throw away, so I kept it for a future project.

I cut the image down to size so that it was square.  Using Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" shade of ink, I stamped the baby image, which is part of the Visible Image stamp set called "Bloom and Grow".  

I stamped the Papertrey Ink sentiment (part of the "Signature Greetings" set) in the same ink.  Then mounted the card on to some matching cardstock.

I have entered this card into the June 2019 "A Place to Start" stencil challenge.

Lavinia Stamps - New Baby Card / Framed Scene

A couple who I have know for many years had a baby recently, so I wanted to make something from me.  As I'm not sewing at the moment, I thought I would create a Lavinia Stamps scene which could be framed and used in the nursary instead.

I am really happy with the way this scene has come together.  I certainly spent a lot of time on it, which I feel is reflected in the finished piece.

I took some photographs along the way to show the work in progress.

I started off creating the background using Distress Oxide Inks in the shades of Tumbled Glass, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Crushed Olive, Bundled Sage, Antique Linen and Pumice Stone.

I then stamped the "Skeleton Trees" in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" shade of ink.  Then the "Tree Root" which I painted in Distress Oxides Inks in the shades of "Ground Espresso", Walnut Stain, and Brushed Corduroy".  I needed to extend the tree in height and I also added a couple of branches using the "Tree Branch".  I stamped the crow (part of the crow set) in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink.

Next I added the hare, which is part of the "Whimsical Hare Set".  Then "Fraya's House", painted with Distress Oxides and Sakura Gelly and Signo Sparkle pens.  I added the "Path", painted in Distress Oxides.  I stamped the flying "Birds" stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist".

I then moved on to stamping "Jasmin and Sebastian's" toadstool houses.  I coloured these with Distress Oxide Inks and Sakura Gelly Roll and Signo Pens.

I added a couple of fairies from the "Fairy Foragers" set stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink.  I added a mouse from the "Three Woodland Mice" set and two hedgehogs from the "Wallace Family"

To add some distance, I stamped some of the small skeleton trees from the "Skeleton Tree Scene" set.  I created a background landscape using a torn piece of card and Distress Inks.  Then stamped some "Pound Stamps" around the edge of the card.  Finally, I added some white high-lights to the card usin a white Signo Pen.
