In the process of tidying my craft room, I came across abackground paper off-cut.  It was too good to bin, so I decided to use it for this card.  The colours are made using wet Brusho paint, saturating the card and then blotting with a paper towel to remove the excess water.

Top Tip:  Before you apply your embossing powder, remember to drag an anti-static bag over the surface you will be embossing.  It helps to stop stray specks of powder sticking to areas where you don't want it.

I decided to use the Funky Fossil Designs "Bold Damask Stencil".  I used a Wow! Clear embossing pad, through the taped down stencil.

After removing the stencil, I covered the surface with a Wow! Embossing Powder called "Silent Night" - it is made up of black and silver.  Shook the surplus off onto a sheet of paper and then used a heat gun to set the embossing powder.

This is the result I got.  I've taken two photos so you can see the difference in the card when the light hits the embossing. In the lower photo you can just make out the black flecks within the silver.

I used a Spellbinders die called Renaissance Jubilee Tags to cut the intricate black background for the word invitation.

Wedding Day Card (using Funky Fossil "Bold Damask" stencil)

In my previous post, I explained that when cleaning your stencil to pop it onto a piece of card and to use a wet wipe.

The remaining colour that you have used on your project gets wiped into the "cut out area" of the stencil and creates a totally different background that you can use at a later date.  The background to this card is the additional background from my previous post.

I cut the stencilled image to the desired size and mounted it on grey and yellow card.

I then die cut the grey intricate background shape behind the sentiment using a Spellbinders die set called "Renaissance Jubilee - Tags".

I then typed and printed the sentiment of "On Your Wedding Day" and die cut it using the inner section of the above mentioned die set.

An easy and quick wedding card which I think look quite classy.

Mother's Day Card 2019

I made this Mother's Day card earlier this morning. My Mother-in-law, doesn't seem to recognise how much effort I put into my personal cards, they usually just get a glance, so I thought I would go with a card with a classy look but one that took little effort.

For the background, I used a Stampin' Up patterned paper from the pack called "Floral Boutique".  I used two sets of Spellbinders dies.  The larger white background die is called "Victorian Medallion Two".  The one with the sentiment on is called "Jubilee Tags".  It was just a case of layering - some flat and some elevated with foam pads to give depth.

Spellbinders Filigree Pocket - Get Well Soon Card

I see a lot of craft items, many I am happy to pass me by, but the new Spellbinders Shadow Boxes and Filigree Pocket was something that I thought I could get plenty of use from.  I ordered them from Hope and Chances, an on-line store that specialises in all things Spellbinders and has fab customer service too.

These goodies arrived yesterday, but I didn't get a chance to play with them.  Today, I needed to make a "Get Well Card" so decided to have a play, although, I've not used the filigree panel for the correct use, but I think it's worked pretty well.

I also used another Spellbinder product for the area around the sentiment "Jubilee Tags" which I thought worked well with the filigree panels.

Birthday Card

I have a large stash of patterned paper that I rarely use, so for this Birthday Card, I decided to use some.  For this card, I have used three 6"x6" sheets from a stack/pad called "Wanderlust" which I purchased from The Range some time ago.

I die cut the dark floral paper with a border die to create a scalloped bottom.  I layered it onto the striped paper then cut it to size.  I then added the yellow and white floral paper to the card base and adhered to the yellow paper.

Finally, I used a Spellbinders die set from their "Renaissance Jubilee/Jubilee Tags" to create the sentiment.

Spellbinders Happy Birthday Card

I've been so busy creating the pages for my holiday scrapbook that making cards has taken a back seat.  This morning, I had an urge to make cards.

I have used a section of 12x12" Crate patterned paper and a couple of Spellbinders.  For the large slate grey decorative edged circle, I used the Spellbinders "Royal Circle" die.  For the inner decorative sentiment, I have used the Spellbinders "Jubilee Tags".

A Sympathy Card using Spellbinders Jubilee Tags

I seem to have had a run on sending sympathy cards, exhausting my usual supply that I keep to hand. I needed to make a quick card so that I could catch the morning postie collection.

I found a sheet of 6x6 patterned paper in a small stack called "Winter Style" by Grafix that would be suitable.  I mounted onto a piece of black card stock and then die cut the decorative sentiment using Spellbinders "Jubilee Tags".

A Wedding Card (using Spellbinders dies)

For this wedding card, I have used patterned paper from the "Pretty Posy" 6x6" paper stack by Trimcraft (I think I purchased it from The Range).

The green cardstock I had in my stash, which I die cut using the Spellbinders die set called "Royal Circle".  The white ornate sentiment backing is also a Spellbinders die from thier "Jubilee Tags" set.  I finished the card with some pearls around the edge of the larger green die cut.

Wedding Cards (Three & Four)

Following on from my earlier post.  Here are cards three and four, made as samples for a neighbour to choose from.

The intricate background is cut using a Spellbinders lattice die (sorry I don't recall the name).  On top of that I have used a die from the Spellbinder set called "Majestic Oval".  ON top of that is another Spellbinders die cut from their set called "Renaissance Jubilee Tags", finished with some faux pearl and diamond embellishments.

I have used the Sweet Dixie (from Personal Impressions) intricate background die for this, topped with a Spellbinders die from their "Renaissance Jubilee" set.
