Lavinia Stamps "Dancing Till Dawn" gel plate card

I enjoyed the gel plate technique Eileen Godwin shared on her "Live" last night that I decided to make another card using the same principles.

I used Versafine Clair "Avocado" green ink and a brayer to put a thin base layer of ink on the gel plate.

Then I used two shades of Ranger Archival Inks to stamp the Lavinia Stamps "Berry Leaves" multiple times in first and second generation stamping using "Periwinkle" blue innk and "Paradise Teal" a green coloured ink, direct on to the gel plate.  I then placed a piece of card over the top of the gel plate and took the impression.

Round the top and bottom, I added extra foliage using the Lavinia Stamps "Arctic" blue ink with the "Wild Vines" stamp.

Next, I stamped the Lavinia "Dancing till dawn" ladies, using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.  I used the same ink to stamp the "Vine Branch" at the top of the card, also to ink the edges of the card too.

Using Versafine Clair "Arctic" blue ink and a Lavinia Stamps "Hill Mask" I created the landscape behind the dancing ladies.

I then used a large Lavinia "Moon Mask" with "Rose Madder" Ranger Archival ink to create the impression of the pink dawn sun.  I used the same ink through the Lavinia Stamps "Feather Leaf Stencil" too, within the sun area.

I used a 2B pencil to add shadows and a white and a gold gel pen for highlights.  I used a white and coral coloured Posca Pen for the dots to create the impression of flowers.

Finally, I added the "Have an amazing day" greeting, which is part of the Funky Fossil Designs "Stripped Back Sentiments" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" ink.

Lavinia Stamps January 2020 Monthly Challenge - Moonlight Magic

On the first of the month, so time for a new Lavinia Stamps monthly challenge theme.  The theme for January is "Moonlight Magic".  You can enter the challenge up to five times each month.  If your name is randomly drawn, you will win a £40 voucher to spend on lovely Lavinia goodies.

I started by masking of a circle and colouring the area with with "Antique Linen" Distress Oxide Inks, to create a moon.  I then covered the area and coloured the sky with various shades of blue Distress Oxide Inks (Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Blueprint Sketch).

I used a Versafine Clair "Medieval Blue"Ink to stamp the "Tree of Dreams" image.  I then used a Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue coloured ink to stamp the "Dancing Till Dawn" fairies.

I multiple stamped the "Sacred Spells" in Versafine "Smokey Gray" shade of ink.  Using the same ink, I created the landscape using the edge of a torn edge of paper.  It then coloured some of the landscape area in "Spun Sugar" Distress Oxide Ink.

I used a white Signo Pen to add highlights to the tree branches and to the edges of the fairies.  I used a silver glitter Signo Pen for the fairy wings and a turquoise glitter pen for the climber up the tree.

Finally, I printed the title "Dancing in the Moonlight", cut it to size and coloured it to match the background.

Lavinia Stamps "Dancing Till Dawn" Birthday Card

My friend is celebrating her birthday this week, as she is also a paper crafter, I thought it only right that her card be made of Lavinia Stamp products.

I used Distress Oxide Inks to create the land and skyscape using:  Antique Linen, Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Salty Ocean for the sky.  I used Antique Linen, Twisted Citron, Crushed Olive and Peeled Paint for the ground area.

I started by stamping the "Trees" to separate the sky from the land, stamping in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" shade of ink.

I then stamped the fir trees, using "Small Fairy Fir Tree" and "Small Fairy Fir Tree 2", stamped in two inks (Distress Oxide "Peeled Paint" and Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" ink).

I then stamped the "Dancing Till Dawn" figures, the "Fern Heads" and the Papertrey Ink sentiment from thier "Stylish Sentiments" set using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

I added little daisies to the grass by dotting white and orange shades of Posca Pen.  I added a silver shimmer to various areas of the card by using a Signo Pen.
