Valentine Card (Slightly Steampunk Style)
It's that time of year when everything turns to love. Hubby and I have been together many years. Over that time, we have given each other most types of cards, so it's not easy to try to make something different.
This year, I decided to go in a slightly "Steam punk" style. He's an engineer, so I think he will appreciate the cogs etc.
I have had a pack of coloured textured paper for years, so I decided to use some of it on this card. The brown paper looks a bit like leather. I found an off-cut of tape measure paper and cut off a couple of pieces and stuck them into position.
The MDF cogs came in a Craft Box from last year. I coated them in Cosmic shimmer "Old Gold Gilding Wax" and then stuck on top of the textured paper.
I then die cut a heart (using a Tonic Die), in red paper and backed it with cardboard to stiffen it. I added a touch of the gilding wax to the edges of the heart. I glued it into position, but had to elevate the area that doesn't sit on the cogs with a double layer of foam pads.
I used a Stampin' Up "Expression Thinlits" to die cut the love word and punched the small red hearts with an Xcut punch. Finally, I glued the key and the little fluted edge sequin style discs into position.

52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019
The prompt for Week 7 is "Love"
For my tag, I started by raiding my box of patterned paper off-cuts. I added a piece of paper tape measure then coated the patterned paper and measure with a thin wash of Gesso, just enough that the pattern on the paper could be seen. I then inked the edges in black and red ink.
I used a paper coaster/doily and painted a thin wash of Distress Oxide "Old Paper" across the surface and positioned it on the tag. Using co-ordinating papers, I layered them above the doily, cutting paper hearts with a punch. I die cut the word "Love" using a Stampin' Up die from the "Expressions Thinlits" set.
To finish I added a piece of ribbon to the base, a flower and die cut foliage to the top right and Nuvo sequins across the tag.

Design Team Make for "My Time To Craft Challenge blog" (389) All You Need Is Love
It's time to share another Design Team make for the "My Time To Craft Challenge Blog". Challenge number 389 has a prompt of "All You Need Is Love", so anything along the theme of Valentine's, Weddings, Anniversaries etc. If you have a moment, please do pop over to the challenge blog and take a look at some of the fab makes by my fellow DT colleagues and maybe even take part in the challenge yourself.
For my card, I used a sheet of music score covered with Distress Oxides, spritzed and left to dry.
I stamped the woodgrain by using a Stampin' Up "Hardwood" stamp, stamped in Versafine "Smokey Grey" ink. I then painted a wash of colour using diluted Distress Inks applied with a brush. Once dry, I die cut a heart in the middle of the woodgrain image. I then mounted the die cut woodgrain card onto the coloured music score paper.
I die cut the word "love" using a die from a Stampin' Up thinlit set called "Expressions". The Papertrey Ink sentiment of "is all you need" is from their "wonderful words - love" set, which was stamped in Versafine "Black Onyx" ink. Finally, I stuck a sprinkle of clear sequins across the surface of the card.

Anniversary Card
Today I've made an anniversary card, using patterned paper from a 6x6" stack I got from The Range, which I think was called "Pretty Posy".
The "Love" word was die cut using a Stampin' Up set called "Expressions Thinlit Dies".
For the stamped sentiment, I used a Rubbadubbadoo stamp.

Sunshine Wishes Anniversary Card
Today I found out that our friends celebrate their anniversary tomorrow, so I made a quick card this evening.
I used Distress Oxides for the main background and inked the edges with Distress Inks. I then stamped the two text areas using a stamp from the Stampin' Up "By The Tide" set.
I then used my Big Shot to die cut the heart and the love word. For these I used Stampin' Up "Expressions Thinlits" and "Sunshine Wishes" sets. I then punched some hearts from the same colour card and added some sticky backed bling crystals.

A Valentine's Button Card
This evening I have been playing with buttons creating this simple but effective card. The word "Love" is from the Stampin' Up thinlit set called "Expressions".
