Lavinia Stamps February 2020 Hochanda TV Preview Sample - Set 2
Amanda Branston, representing Lavinia Stamps will be on Hochanda TV on Friday 7th February at mid-day and 3pm, with a selection of stamps and accessories.
I have used a 6" gelli plate to create the backgound circle, using Colorbox Inks (Artichoke and Grape colours) brayered on to the plate and then splashes of diluted wet tuquoise Brusho, sprinkled with a fan brush.
I created a mask using copy paper to protect the white edges of the circle, by drawing a 6" circle with a compass and then cutting the middle out, this left me a "window" in the middle. I then used a removable Herma to keep the mask in place over the gelli plate image.
I decided that the whole image needed more depth in colour, so used Distress Oxide Inks with a blending tool. I masked off a circle area where I wanted the moon to be. For the sky area, I used Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet. For the ground area I used "Mowed Lawn" Distress Oxide Ink.
Using the torn edge of a piece of copy paper, I created the landscape by dragging Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink along the torn edge, I also edged the moon before removing the mask.
I then stamped the "Celestial Tree" using two Versafine Clair inks (Nocturne and Morning Mist"), using the darker one for the foreground and the lighter one for the foreground, which gives the perspective of depth.
I stamped the hare, which is part of the "Whimsical Hare" set using Versafine Clair "Pinecone" which is a dark brown ink.
Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, I stamped the "Wild Poppies" and the "Mini Slender Mushrooms".
I used a white, red and orange Posca Pens to add little dots of flowers on the hillside, I used a pencil to ground the hare and a black fine line pen to add some tufts of grass too.

Lavinia Stamps New Release October 2019 - Zanor Pegasus
This is my second make using the brand new October 2019 Lavinia Stamps release. In this card I have used "Zanor" the pegasus and "Meadow Mushrooms" (both sizes).
This is quite a small card, the actual image is only a little over 3" x 4". All stamping on this card has been made using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.
I used an off cut of a gelli plate print of soft blues and pink colours. Created using Colorbox Ink brayered onto the gelli plate with wet Brusho sprinkled on the top (sorry I don't recall what shades I used as this is part of an old print).
I stamped "Zanor" the pegasus first, then created the landscaped background. I coloured the lower section with Distress Oxide ink "Worn Lipstick" and "Picked Raspberry". Using the torn edge of a piece of copy paper and Distress Oxide Ink in the "Weathered Wood" Shade, I created the hill scape.
I masked off a circle shape around the head of "Zanor" and added a pink edge using Distress Oxide Ink "Worn Lipstick" to create the impression of a sky.
I then returned to stamping, the new "Meadow Mushrooms" and the "Mini Slender Mushrooms". I stamped two words "Take Flight" from the Lavinia Stamps sentiment called "Let Your Spirit Take Flight".
Finally, I added some grass tufts below the mushrooms using a black fine line pen and white highlights to areas of the card using a Signo Pen.

Lavinia Stamps "Northern Lights View" Card
This afternoon, I have been playing with Distress Oxides making this Northern Lights card using Lavinia Stamps.
I created the background using several shades of Distress Oxide Inks. I used Spiced Marmalade, Peacock Feathers, Crushed Olive, Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot. I used the edge of a folded piece of damp kitchen paper to create the lighter whisp areas of the sky, by very lightly dragging the corner across the sky in slight wavy lines. You could also use a cotton bud or a wet wipe for this too.
I used a fan brush to give light splatters of water, which sort of bleaches the surface making a star effect. I was really happy with the way it turned out and was slightly scared to stamp on it for fear of ruining such a beauty.
I started by stamping the trees. They're Lavinia Stamps and called "Spring Trees" stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" shade of ink.
I then created the landscape by using a torn piece of copy paper and dragging the blending tool downwards using the "Black Soot" oxide ink.
I then stamped the seated couple which is also a Lavinia Stamp called "Star Gazing" stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" shade of ink. Using the same ink, I stamped the "Mini Slender Mushrooms".
Finally, I inked the edges of the card using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" and added white highlighted areas using a Signo Pen.
