Funky Fossil "Cattitude" 5th Birthday Card

Our little smiler Jakey, will be celebrating his 5th birthday in a week or so.  This is the card I have made for him, our very special Grand Son. 

I've used a selection of Funky Fossil products, starting with the "Scattered Straw Mask" which I've used in the background with two shades of Distress Oxide Inks "Twisted Citron" and "Mermaid Lagoon".

I then stamped the cats from the Funky Fossil "Cattitude" stamp set.  The cake and bunting from the "Let's Party" stamp set and the sentiment from the "Happy Words" stamp set.  I die cut the number five.

To colour the stamped images, I have used a selection of Distress Oxide Inks, applied with a paint brush.  I have also used Posca Pens.

First thing today, I made a tag. It's a simple tag, but has a blending technique through a stencil, so I thought I'd have a go at videoing the technique.  My first attempt is rough, to say the least.  I need to find my way around the software a bit more, but if you would like to see it, here's the link:  https://youtu.be/-LK3SSSKynw  

I've used the Funky Fossil "Cattitude" stamp set and their "Simply Stripes" stencil.

I used "Rustic Wilderness" and "Mowed Lawn" Distress Oxide Inks blended through the "Simply Stripes" stencil.

Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, I stamped the cat and the sentiment, I then stamped the cat again on a small piece of white card.

I painted the cat, using Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Inks.  I then cut out the image and used a black Sharpie pen around the outer edges.  I used an Orange Sparkle Signo Pen to the hat area then adhered it over the stamped image on the tag itself.  Finally, I layered it on to black card and threaded black ribbon through the punched hole.

I have used the new set called "Cattitude for this sample.  

It is a really quick card to make.  I stamped the cat image using Versafine Clair "Summertime" orange shade of ink.  I coloured the image with two shades of Distress Oxide inks:  Scattered Straw and Wild Honey, I also used an orange Posca pen.  I then fussy cut the cat image.

I stamped the "Cattitude" sentiment and the paw prints using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink on an orange background.  I then die cut the shape.  I mounted the die cut shape onto a darker shade of orange card and then die cut that.

I die cut two circles a black smaller circle and a slightly larger orange circle.  I adhered the black circle on to the orange backround.  I then adhered the cat image and then the "Cattictude" banner below.

I used a scoreboard to score a line below the sentiment and bent the bottom section so that it created a stand for the card.

Funky Fossil Designs are releasing five fabulous new stamp sets this Saturday, 28th March at 9am.

I have used one of the new sets called "Cattitude" to make this card.

I stamped the cats head three times, using Versafine Clair ink and coloured each one in a different colour using Distress Oxide Inks.  I then fussy cut the head images.

I die cut three squares and adhered the head onto each square.  I then stamped the sentiment using Versafine Clair "Green Oasis".

Funky Fossil Designs are releasing five fabulous new clear stamp sets, this Saturday, 28th March at 9am.  This card uses "Cattitude"!

I stamped the cats in three shades of Versafin Clair Ink:  "Nocturne" black ink, "Summertime" orange ink and "Acorn" brown ink.  I then coloured each cat in co-ordinating colours of Distress Oxide Inks.

I fussy cut each cat and then adhered them onto the dark blue background.  I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Clair "Twilight" which is a dark blue colour.

Funky Fossil Designs are releasing five fabulous new stamp sets on Saturday 28th March at 9am.  I've used one of the new sets to create this card.

I've used the new Cattitude set on a background of blended Distress Oxide Inks (pink, orange and yellow colours).

I have then spritzed the Funky Fossil "Broken Radius" stencil with water and laid the wet side over the prepared background, applying a little pressure and leaving for a few seconds.  When the stencil is lifted, I dabbed any watery areas with a piece of kitchen roll.  The area where the wet stencil has been leaves a bleached pattern.

I stamped the cats and the sentiment onto the now dry background using Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink.  Using the same ink, I stamped the cats on a separate piece of card.

I coloured the cats using two colours of Distress Oxide Inks - Spun Sugar and Gathered Twigs.  I used a turquoise coloures Posca Pen for areas on the hat.  I fussy cut both cat images and adhered them over the ones already stamped on the background.
