Tim Holtz Paper Doll on wax resist background

A little background to this tag.  About two years ago, I had some Distress Oxide Inks (Antique Linen, Brushoed Corduroy, Vintage Photo and Specikled Egg), on my glass mat, so instead of wasting them, I decided to put them on a tag, but before I did that, I ran a Brusho wax resist crayon over the surface in a very rough cross hatch pattern.  I added the inks and the crayon did it's job, by exposing the crayon.  Once the tag was dry, I put it away for another day and forgot about it.

I had a bit of a tidying / tweak session to my craft cupboard this afternoon and came across the long forgotten tag, so decided to do something with it.  I added some more Distrss Oxide Inks to it.  This time, Forest Moss and Ground Espresso.

I splattered Aqua Green and Black Posca Pens across the surface of the tag.  Once dry I then used Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink to stamp the lines on the tag.  The stamp is part of a Tim Holtz / Stampers Anonymous stamp and stencil set with a reference of THMM114.  While the ink was out, I also stamped the leaves which are part of a Marianne Designs "Silhouette Art - CS1181" stamp set.  I then fussy cut the foliage and stuck it into position on the tag.

Using the stencil from the same stamp and stencil set mentioned above, I applied texture paste through some of the holes.  The white texture paste took on some of the colour from the oxide inks below which made it look less stark.

Finally, I added a Tim Holtz Paper doll figure and a word sticker from the Tim Holtz Clipping Stickers set.

Stampers Anonymous "Warehouse District CMS124" Tag

Today I have been playing wiht Stampers Anonymous / Tim Holtz goodies to create this tag.

I started with a plain cream coloured tag, blending "Vintage Photo" Distress Oxide over the surface.  I then used the Stampers Anonymous "String" stencil with "Aged Mahogany" Distress Oxide Inks.

I used stamps from the Stampers Anonymous set called "Warehouse District CMS124" in various shades of Ranger Archival Ink and Versafine Clair Ink to stamp the various images

I added a "Paperdoll" image and sentiment to the bottom corner, before inking the edges of the tag.

Week 49 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2018

The Prompt for Week 49 is "Family".

Family means so many things to so many different people.  I have an on-off thing working on my family tree, so for my tag, I have gone in this direction.

The background of this tag started out with gorgeous shades of Distress Oxides.  However, I had a mis-hap with it when I accidentally used Gesso instead of a texture paste through the stencil, which resulted in most of the fabulous background I had created disappearing.  After it dried, I made the most of what I had by adding extra ink to the surface before adding the people image and wording.

Week 37 - 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2018

The prompt for Week 37 is Tag on Tag

We're well into September and here on Anglesey things are getting back to normal after the holiday season. It's nice to have it a little quieter again.

For my tag, I have used a whole assortment of things.  I started with cream coloured tag and stamped the net and flourish images.  Then inked the edges in two different shades.

I found some wide hessian style ribbon, which I glued to the tag on the right hand side.I inked a paper doily to give it a more aged look and then stuck that to the tag.

I had an off-cut of curtain lining fabric and stamped the script onto it.  I cut a circle of cardboard, then stuck the stamped fabric to it and trimmed to size.  I found some wide fine organza style ribbon, so I stuck that across the centre of the circle creating a few ruffles as I went.  I then added two layers of lace to the top edge.

To the underside of the tag, I glued some green ribbon and punched foliage.  I rummaged though my oddments box and found some mini baubles that I had salvaged from Christmas crackers last year and also a mini light house metal charm which were glued into position.

I used the Tim Holtz paper dolls for the male and dog figure.  The sentiment is from the Stamper's Anonymous "Clippings" set.

Witch Paper Doll Tag

I've played with a tag this afternoon.

The background is a mix of Distress Inks and oxides, using a Signo pen to make the white dots.  I've had a selection of skeleton leaves which I'd not used, so decided to use some on this tag, however the delicate nature of the leaves meant that they didn't show up on the coloured background, so I mounted them on black card and cut around them.  I then used a Tim Holtz paperdoll image of a couple of witches to layer on top of the leaves.

I used Hobby Arts andStamper's Anonymous stamps for the background, with sticky black gems and alpha letters to create the "Witch" word.
