Texture Challenge Card

Today, Wednesday 19th April, Eileen Godwin set a challenge of "Texture".  This is the card that I made.  I was totally out of my comfort zone using the texture paste!

I started this card doing one thing but it morphed into something quite different as I wasn't sure how to use a product and winged it.  Lesson learnt, check Google first.

I made a beautiful background thinking it would crackle, but it  didn't as I'd used "Crazing" which was clear when I applied it.  I then put the stencil back on and added the"Crackle" paste, which was very white when applied and stayed white, so I lost the nice background, which resulted in working with what I had left!

I decided to use the inks left on my blending brushes to provide colour to the crackled area.  I'd used a Funky Fossil stencil called "Broken Mosaic" with the Tim Holtz "Crackle" Texture Paste. A small area of the base remained and that was where I had stamped the Funky Fossil "Vintage Script" using Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink.

I decided I would die cut a section of the surface, using a Sizzix Tim Holtz die, but due to the depth only some of it actually cut, which I actually don't mind as it is more informal.

I found some MDF cogs in my stash, so coated them with "Plum" Archival Ink and then added touches of gold gilding wax.  I stuck them into position using Glossy Accents.

I used a Tim Holtz "Paper Doll" and gave the gentleman a bit of colour by using felt tips pens and rubbing off the surface ink, which left just a suggestion of colour.  I used double depth foam pads to adhere the upper body of the paper doll and Glossy Accents for the legs, positioning him as if he were sitting on the cogs.

I found a Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous "Sticker Word" which was suitable, mounted it on dark red card and cut to shape.  Finally, I had some little dark gold looking metal embellishments which I thought worked well, so added these by using some dots of Glossy Accents.

Gel Plate and Pan Pastel Die Cut Card

I was supposed to be sorting through my craft supplies in an attempt to destash, instead I ended up making this card.

I used a small gel plate off cut, created using Pan Pastels.  I then used a Designs by Ryn "Fish Scales" stamped in Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink in the central area.  I splattered bronze and then white Posca Pens across the surface.

I used the Tim Holtz/Sizzix "Wild Flower Stems" die for the flowers and a Tim Holtz "Ideaology" word sticker saying "Remember".  Finally, I inked the edges in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Day 22 of Karen Telfer's "24 Days of Tags 2020" - white on white

This is the tag I have made for Day 22 of Karen Telfer's "24 Days of Tags 2020" challenge, with a prompt of "White on White".

For my tag, I have used a good thick card Paper Mill Direct, Supersmooth 300gsm throughout, this gives a nice firm feel to the tag.  I used an old Cuttlebug embossing folder for the scrolled background. I then adhered a line of lace.

I die cut the word "jolly", the fir cones, the bow and the Holly using Stampin' Up and Sizzix/Tim Holtz products, layering and using foam pads to add texture and dimension.

Funky Fossil - Sunshine Mandala Stencil Tag

Hi, How has your Easter been?  Just a reminder that you have till midnight tonight (UK time) to get your 20% off Funky Fossil stamps.  Quote the code "STAMP20" at checkout to get your discount.  Any orderd placed in April will also receive a free stencil!

I've made this tag today.  It started off as a mottled Distress Oxide Ink background.

I then used the Funky Fossil "Sunshine Mandala" stencil with "Aged Mahogany" Distress oxide ink to create the background pattern.

I stamped the sentiment, using the Funky Fossil "Happy Words" stamp set and then die cut it to shape.

I used Sizzix/Tim Holtz dies (Wild Flowers Stems #1 & #2) to die cut the flower/foliage in black card.  I adhered the shapes on to the tag and then added the sentiment over the top.

Design Team Make for "My Time To Craft" Challenge #402 Christmas

It is time for another challenge theme on the "My Time To Craft Challenge Blog".  The theme for challenge #402 is "Christmas".

If you do have a spare moment, please do pop over to the blog and take a look at the fab makes by my Design Team colleagues.

For my card, I have used a background that I created using a circle gelli plate, Colourbox inks and Brushos.  Once the background was dry, I die cut a large snowflake using a Sizzix/Tim Holtz Bigz die, sticking the snowflake over the coloured circle.

Using a Woodware Christmas sentiment stamp, I stamped the "Seasons Greetings" in Versafine Clair "Medieval Blue" shade of ink.  Die cut into a rectangle and positioned on the top of the die cut snowflake.

Life Adventure Card

This card has been in the making over the past three days, purely because life has priority over crafting.

I've used three shades of Distress Oxides for the background.  The bird and sentiment are both part of separate Sizzix/Tim Holtz sets:  "Love you" and "Paris Adventure" stamped in Versafine ink.

The three different size flowers in the background are from a Visible Image set called "Create It" which are stamped in a grey colour Memento ink.  A Signo pen was used for the white dots.

Enjoy The Journey Globe Tag

I'm in hibernation mode with this strange "Storm Emma" weather we have been having.  Fortunately, Anglesey hasn't been hit hard by the snow, but it is icy and the wind is awful. So I am not venturing anywhere!

I made this tag.  It has a Distress Oxide background.  For the globe, I stamped an image using the Sizzix/Tim Holtz "The Journey" (561221) set.  I coloured the water of the globe with an oxide and die cut the land.  The sentiment at the base of the tag is also from the same set.

I used assorted stamps and die cuts to fill the background. Including Stampin' Up "Gorgeous Grunge", "By The Tide" and "The Open Sea".
