Lavinia Stamps "Woodland Sprite" on an Eileen Godwin style background

Today I wanted to craft, but my mind wouldn't settle on something to make.  So I turned to the super talented Eileen Godwin for inspiration.  Watching one of her recent "Me To You" Facebook tutorials.  The background of this card, is my take on that tutorial.

To create the background I used four Elements inks:  Russed Orange, Della Blue, Confetti and Sundance with the straight edge of a hill mask and one of the circle/moon masks.

I decided one of the circles would be the moon behind the fairy, so used some white and yellow Pan Pastels to lighten the circle.  I then stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Woodland Sprite" fairy in Versafine Clair "Twilight" ink.

On the left hand side of the card, I used second generation stamping of Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" to stamp the "Faerie Spells" script. I then used "Twilight" again to stamp the "Believe in magic" sentiment.

I used a white gel pen to add highlights to the fairy, then used a mini star stamp to create a twinkle starry look around the fairy, adding touches of "White Opal" Liquid Pearls to the middle of the stars and to create a circle around the moon.

Lavinia Stamps December 2019 Monthly Challenge - Snow at Christmas

This is the third sample I have made to promote the Lavinia Stamps December 2019 monthly challenge.  The challenge runs from the 1st to the 25th of the month.  The theme for this month is "Snow at Christmas".

You can enter the challenge to a maximum of five times.  If your name is randomly drawn, then you will win £40 of vouchers to spend on lovely Lavinia goodies.

I wasn't really sure where I was going with this card when I first started making it.  The first thing I did was to randomly stamp the "Faerie Spells" sentiment in Versafine Clair "Twilight" darlk blue ink.

On a seprate piece of white card, I stamped the "Fairy Hive" in Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" which is a teal coloured ink.

I then stamped the fairies to each side of the hive, using two from the "Fairy Foragers" set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" ink.

I then started work on the background.  I put some "Tumbled Glass" Distress Oxide Ink on my mat and added a little water and applied to the background of the hive like a thin pale blue wash,

Using the following Distress Oxide ink colours, I painted daubs (is the closest thing I can call it) in Spun Sugar, Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire.  I wanted to create a soft coloured speckled/snowy sky look to the background.  I then added dots of white using a Posca pen.

I stamped the "Have a fairy merry Christmas" sentiment in Versafine Clair "Twilight" ink.  I coloured the lantern held by the fairy and also the window of the fairy hive with a yellow Posca Pen.

Finally, I added "Hollographic Moon Dust" to the panel to add an extra icy snowy look to the card.

Lavinia Stamps November 2019 Hochanda TV Preview - Set 1/2

Lavinia Stamps will be on Hochanda TV with some fabulous stamps and accessories on Friday 22nd November 2019 at 10am and 3pm.

I am very fortunate to be part of the Lavinia Stamps Design Team which means I get to play with the new stamps before they are released to the public.  This is one of the cards I made to promote the show.

For this card I started by covering a plain white piece of card with "Antique Linen" Distress Oxide Inks, creating a mottled/aged style background.

I stamped the fairy called "Celeste" first, using Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple coloured ink.  Using the same ink, I stamped the "Faerie Spells" sentiment.

I then created the foliage swag.  First I stamped the "Fir Tree Branch" in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.  I added the "Pound Stamp - Holly", stamped in Versafine Clair "Rain Forest" dark green coloured ink.  I stamped the "Pound Stamp - Berries" using a Memento Ink called "Rhubarb Stalk".

Finally, I stamped some pound stamp stars across the card using a Brilliance Ink called "Galaxy Gold".  I added some white highlights to various areas of the card.

Once the card was fully dry, I positioned the letter dies across the image, securing with a low tack tape before running through the big shot machine.

I removed the letters from the image and turned the card upside down, so that the base of the card was showing.  I adhered some red paper over the word area.  I then mounted the card on a dark red coloured card and then onto a cream base.

Flipping the card with the right side upright, I cut foam pads and stuck them onto the base of the letters.  I then positioned them over the red letter shape.  This gives a raised look to the word "Peace" and you get a little glimpse of the red to add interest too.

Lavinia Stamps November 2019 Hochanda TV Preview - Set 1/1

I am so excited, Lavinia Stamps will be on Hochanda TV with some fabulous stamp sets and other stamping accessories on Friday 22nd November 2019 at 10am and 3pm.

I am very aware of how fortunate I am to be part of the fabulous Lavinia Stamps Design Team, especially as I get to play with the new release stamps before they go on general release.

The background of this card is created using a gelli plate, with Brusho paint on a Colorbox Ink brayered base.

I used Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple shade of ink to stamp "Celeste" the fairy, Faerie Spells (sentiment) and the "Fir Tree Branch".

I used "Dusty Concord" Distress Oxide Inks around the edge of the card.  I used Lavinia Stamps "Moon Dust" on the fairy wings and added dots of "White Opal" Liquid Pearls across the card.  Finally, I added high-lights using a white Signo Pen.
