Hobby Art "Spring Scenes CS091D" New Home Card

I've had a few days off crafting and I have missed it.  I have a few ideas flying around my head at the moment, but before having a play session, I needed to get a couple of essential cards out of the way.

One card that needed to be made was a new home card for the parents of our friends, who have just down sized into a new build.  A big step when you are getting on in years!

I have used a Hobby Art Ltd stamp from their "Spring Scenes CS091D" clear stamp set.  Stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink and coloured with Distress Oxide inks applied with a paint brush.

The "Home" sentiment is part of a Papertrey Ink stamp set called "Wreath For All Seasons", which I have stamped in Versafine Clair "Blue Belle" ink.

Design Team make for "Love To Craft Challenge Blog" #38 September 2019

This is my September make for the "Love To Craft Challenge Blog" which has an "Anything Goes" theme.  If you have a moment to spare, please do pop over and take a look at the other fab makes by my fellow Design Team colleagues.

I had an off cut of a gelli plate background in a pale blue colour.  I decided to use this as the base of this card.

I used a Stampin' Up stamp from their "Dragonfly Dreams" set. stamped in two shades of Versafine Clair ink (Warm Breeze and Verdant).  I stamped another dragonfly on a post-it note and cut around the edge to create a mask.

I positioned the mask over the top of the dragonfly image (on the gelli plate background), then inked up a Crafty Individuals background stamp with a dragonfly design (CI-409).  I used Versafine "Smokey Grey" coloured ink.  I then removed the mask.

I decided the background colour needed more depth so using the "Warm Breeze" and "Verdant" Versafine Clair ink again, I added colour, eventually using a Distress Oxide  Ink in "Black Soot" shade to ink the very edges of the card.

I added high lights of both silver glitter and white to various area of the card using Signo Pens.

I adhered the image to the central area of a square card then stamped the "Thinking Of You" sentiment, which is part of a Hobby Arts Ltd set called "Greetings For Friends".  I stamped in a Versafine Clair shade of ink called "Twilight".

Funky Fossil Designs - Rose Bouquet Stencil Card

I was up early this morning, so decided to have a play with a stencil, making this card.

I've used Distress Oxide inks in three pink shades (Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry) for the flowers.  For the leaves I have used "Bundled Sage" and "Twisted Citron" through a Funky Fossil Designs stencil called "Rose Bouquet".

The sentiment is from a Hobby Art Ltd stamp set called "Greetings For Friends" stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink.

Funky Fossil "Abstract Flowers" stencilled card

One of the things I love about using stencils is that before I put them away, I clean them with a wet wipe over a piece of card.  The colour wiped from the stencil fills the gaps in the stencil, which in turn gives a lovely subtle pattern.  This is how I achieved the coloured background of this card.

Cleaning the Funky Fossil "Abstract Flowers" stencil after using it for this card, provided a beautiful coral shade of flowers.

I outlined the coloured sections using a gold shimmer Sakura Jelly Roll Pen.

The "To A Special Friend" sentiment is from a Hobby Art Ltd called "Greetings From Friends - CS158D" which I stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink.

Design Team make for "My Time To Craft Challenge Blog" #401 "Check It Out"

It is time for another "My Time To Craft Challenge".  The theme for challenge #401 is "Check It Out".

This is a card that I made, if you have a spare minute, please do pop over and take a look at the other fab makes by my Design Team colleagues.

I used a checked background that I had made a couple of weeks ago, you can read how I created it here.  I trimmed chequered background to 5"square.

For this card I have used Hobby Art Ltd stamps from a set called "Janie's Collection - Lino Cut Hares".

Using a Versafine Clair ink in a shade called "Chianti", I stamped the landscape around the edge of the card.  I then stamped the hare and then the grasses.

I then masked off a circle for the sun and filled the circle with Distress Oxide Ink in the shade of "Wild Honey".  I then inked the edges of the sun and also stamped the dragonfly, using the Versafine Clair "Chianti" coloured ink.

Shades Of Green Shoal Of Fish Tag (Funky Fossil)

This evening I had a play with a new stencil called Shoal Of Fish by Funky Fossil making this tag.

I created the background using Distress Oxides in shades called Tumbled Glass, Twisted Citron and Broken China.

Once dry, I secured the Funky Fossil "Shoal Of Fish" stencil over the tag using low-tack masking tage and used another Distress Oxide ink called "Faded Jeans" through the stencil.

I used the Hobby Arts Ltd sentiment from their "By The Sea CS038D" set, stamped in Versafine Clair Medieval Blue shade of ink.

I had a small bubble stamp that came free with a magazine which I stamped in a Memento Ink called "London Fog".

Finally I inked the edges using the Versafine Ink I had stamped the sentiment in, then added silver glitter high-lights to the edges of the tag and to some of the bubbles to give it a more water/shimmer look using a Signo Pen

Girls Birthday Card

I fancied making a bright card, suitable for a young lady who will be celebrating her birthday today.

I decided to stamp flowers from the Hobby Arts Ltd, stamp set called "Abstract Flowers", stamped in a raspberry shade of Adirondack Ink.  I then coloured the flowers with a yellow Promarker.

I stamped the Apple Blossom Banner sentiment in the same Raspberry coloured ink and die cut it using the Apple Blossom die.
