52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2024 - Week 4

The challenge for 2024 is weekly.  I will provide you with a prompt/theme each Sunday morning through out the year.  The challenge is very relaxed.  You can do as much or as little as you like.  You can create cards, tags, Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) or index cards, the choice is yours. You just go with what ever is in your head at the time.  You can stamp, get inky, use patterned papers, texture, embellish it is all down to you.

There is a dedicated private Facebook Group, with a lovely bunch of people who are already sharing their makes from previous challenges.  You can find the group by clicking this link.  I'd love you to join in.

The Crafting Niche 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2024:

The prompt for Week 4 is "Print"

*****

This is the tag that I have made for the Week 4.

I started with a white tag that I swooshed through "Tea Dye" Distress ink to give a mottled background.

I tore up a page of an old book that had text and balance sheets on it, tearing the pages into small sections then sticking, using a wet glue on to the tag.

I then used the Funky Fossil Designs "Funky Circle" stencil with Ranger Distress Matte Texture Paste.  I used my heat gun to accelerate the drying.

I then lightly spritzed the Dylusions "Lemon Zest" ink spray over the tag, again using the heat gun to dry it.

I used the Funky Fossil "Alpha Numeric" stencil with "Leaf Green" Archival Ink in the non raised areas of the tag.

Next I decided that the "Funky Circle" textured area wasn't standing out enough, so I went around each section with a black fine liner pen, then added dots of black Ranger "Enamel Accents" to highlight the circles.

I decided the tag needed something vertical.  I used the Funky Fossil "Vintage Script" stamp with Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.  I inked the edges of the tag in the same ink while it was out.

I got out my Sizzix "Big Shot" die cutting machine and cut the Funky Fossil "Zen Mandala" in white card and stuck it into position using wet glue.

Finally, mounting the tag on to black card, I added the finishing touches by using a Tim Holtz Idea-ology "Small Talk" sticker and added white dots of Ranger "Enamel Accents".

Funky Fossil Designs "Celestial" on a "Funky Circle" background card

Today I have had a play with the Funky Fossil Designs "Celestial" stamp set  which happens to be reduced by £1.50 at the moment, so this is maybe an ideal time to grab a bargain.

I stamped the central image in Versafine Clair "Twilight" ink, then coated the stamped image in Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and then heat set.

I used Antique Linen and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide inks to fill the central stamped image.  Using a circle mask, I covered the stamp image.  I used the new Tim Holtz "Unchartered Mariner" Distress Oxide ink through the Funky Fossil "Funky Circle Stencil". to create the additional detail around the stamped area.  Using the remaining ink on the blending brush to provide a light colour in each corner.

Using a fan shaped paint brush, dipped in water, I then lightly tapped the brush so that droplets formed in the corner areas, dabbing the wet area dry with kitchen roll, this created the mottled look you can see.

Finally, I stamped the sentimen, also part of the "Celestial stamp set" in Versafine Clair "Twilight" ink.

Funky Fossil Designs Hochanda TV April 2020 - Set 2 #1

Sarah of Funky Fossil Designs will be appearing on Hochanda TV on Saturday 4th April 2020 with a selection of lovely goodies.

This is a sample I have made for the show using an "art board".

On a plain piece of turquoise coloured card, I stuck sections of text torn from an old book.  Then gave the whole area a turquoise coloured wash.

Once dry, I used the "Funky Circle Stencil" and "Stormy Sky" Distress Oxide Ink to create part sections of the circle.

On plain white card, I stamped some of the flowers and leaves from the new "Funky Florals" stamp set using Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink.  I also stamped a few swirls onto the base I had already prepared.  I then used the same ink through the "Distressed Diamonds stencil".

I fussy cut the flowers and leaves.  I added some Stickles glitter to the centre of the flowers and used Signo glitter pens on the leaves.  I then adhered the shapes on to the art board to create a garland of flowers from top to bottom.

Funky Fossil - Funky Circle Alcohol Ink Good Luck Card

I've been playing with an alcohol ink background I have had in my stash for a couple of months and decided today I would make something of it.

I decided to use Tim Holtz Alcohol Lift Ink through the Funky Fossil "Funky Circle" Stencil over the alcohol ink background to create the bleached look pattern.

I used some Wow! Fab Foil in a copper colour to add some interest to areas too.

The stamped "Good Luck" sentiment, using Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze Ink" is from a Simon Says Stamp set called "Clean Line Everyday" and die cut.

Funky Fossil Designs March 2020 New Stamp Preview - Distressed Elements 2

Funky Fossil Designs are releasing five fabulous new stamp sets this Saturday, 28th March and 9am.  For this card, I have used the new "Distressed Elements".

I used a circular gelli plate background image I'd made a month or so back for the base of this card.

I then used the Funky Fossil "Chess Set" Stencil with Versafine Clair "Nocturne" applied through the stencil with a finger dabber.

Next I used the Funky Fossil "Brick Wall 2" stencil with Versafine "Smokey Grey" ink.

I then used Versafine "Olympia Green" through the Funky Fossil "Broken Radius" stencil.

Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, I stamped the alphabet, the numbers, the cracks in the brickwork, the drips and the hearts & kisses, all of these are from the new "Distressed Elements set.

I die cut the image slightly smaller and then inked the edges using Versafine "Black Onyx" ink.

I decided I didn't want a totally plain black background, so used the Wow! Clear Embossing Pad through the Funky Fossil "Funky Circle" stencil.  I then sprinkled black embossing powder on and heated to set.  This provided a frame for the circle.
