Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 77

Today, is Day 77 of the Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge.  It is the last day of using the prompt of "crayons".  I have found this week a challenge in itself as crayons are not my choice of medium to work with.

For this make, I used some tape to hold the base card in place on a board and then placed it at an angle.  I used my heat gun to melt the crayons so that the colours ran down the page.  The crayons I used normal kids "Crayola" crayons", uisng yellow, green, blue, orange and purple colours.

While the wax coloured drips were setting, I cut a piece of card and stamped the saying "Free your imagination" sentiment which is part of a Visible Image stamp set by the same name, stamped in Versafine Clair "Fantasia" purple/blue ink.  I added double sided sticky tape to the back and stuck over the wax drips.  I then mounted the piece on white card.

I've drawn this free hand (other than using a mask for the moon) using blue, purples, grey and black crayons.  Over the top I have added white paint splatters using a Posca Pen to replicate snow.

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 74

Today is Day 74 of the Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge.  This week the prompt is to use "Crayons".

For this piece, I lightly drew the outline of a butterfly in pencil, then using red, orange and pink coloured crayons, I started adding dots of colour to the wings, towards the body, I added lines of the three colours so that they practically blended in with each other, then used the orange crayon to draw over my pencil lines.  For the body of the butterfly, I used a black fine liner pen and a white gel pen.

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 72

Today is Day 72 of the Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge.  This week is all about using crayons.

I was experimenting with melting a wax crayon with a heat gun and allowing the wax to drip down the book page.  When the wax had dried it made me think of blood, so this took me towards the dark side, evolving into this.

I used "Shadow Grey" Archival Ink through the Visible Image "Dark Hearts Stencil".  I then used "Jet Black" Archival Ink though the Visible Image "Ye Olde Christmas Stencil".

I added extra colour to the background using "Sea Grass" Archival Ink and then inked the edges with "Tulip Red" Versafine Clair Ink.

I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink to stamp the butterfly, which is the Visible Image "Live Life Now" stamp. Finally, I added a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Clipping Sticker saying "A glimpse of heaven".

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 71

Today is Day 71 of Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge.  It's the start of a new week of prompts, this week is "crayons".Crayons are not my usual choice of colouring product, so I'm a little out of my comfort zone with this prompt.

I found a sheet of dark blue paper with quite a shimmer to it.  Not pearlescent, but very close, so I decided to use that as the base.  I used three metallic shades of crayons (silver, gold and bronze) to draw wavy lines across the dark blue paper.

I lay the Clarity Stamps "Leafy Strip Stencil" over the top and secured with low tack tape.  I mixed a spritz of Dylusion "Fresh Lime" ink spray with some Ranger "Opaque Crackle Texture Paste'.  Once mixed together it had a look of pistachio.   I used a palette knife to apply the mixture over and through the stencil.  I lifted the stencil and cleaned it immediately so that the paste didn't dry on it. Then used a heat gun to accelerate the crackling of the surface of the leaf.

I mounted the paper on to a piece of navy card and then on to a piece of green card. Finally, I added a Clarity Stamp "Word Sticker" saying "Dreams come true".
