So here we are, the final week of the 2017 weekly challenge.
I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy Christmas and to thank you for taking an interest in my little blog of makes.
The prompt for Week 52 is "The Tree".
The background for this tag is once again made by using Tim Holtz Distress Inks, in shades of yellow, orange and pinks. I have also black inked a couple of corners.
The tree image is a stamp by "Designs by Ryn" and is called "Stylised Tree Set". The script text is a stamp by Oak House Studio.
I have heavily used Stickles glitter glue on this tag and also self adhesive gems for the ornaments.
Don't forget, if you would like to see the prompts for the previous weeks of this 2017 challenge, you can click on the button to the right hand side of the "home" button for the full list.
A brief look into the life of a crafter interested paper crafting, sewing, baking and reading.

A Christmas Aroma
Yesterday, I studded a couple of oranges with cloves and tied them with ribbon. It has made a lovely festive smell in the house. Rosie the dog seems to like it too!

Christmas Thanks
It's Christams Eve and as we all slow down a little after all the charging about in the run up to this special time, I would like to take the opportunity to wish you a very Happy Christmas and to thank you for taking an interest in my little blog of makes.
See you on the other side...

Tis The Season Christmas Card
This is a really simple little Christmas card which I think has quite a classy feel to it. I've used two stamp sets, both by Stampin' Up. Totally Trees and Peaceful Pines.

Noel Christmas Card
This Christmas card was quite quick to put together. It comprises of a Sizzix Sizzlit die for the word Noel and the holly shapes. I used a Stampin' Up "Cable Knit" embossing folder for the white background and a Cuttlebug dot embossing folder on the word Noel.

Pine Cone Christmas Tag
Using some of the die cuts left from my earlier project, I made this Christmas tag.
The background uses a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The pine cones & foliage & ribbon are from the Stampin' Up "Pretty Pines" die set.

Less Is More - Happy Christmas Card
Sometimes I look at cards I make and invariably prefer "the less is more"/minimalist look of cards. The card below is a great example of this compared with the lower card which for me just doesn't work.

Happy Christmas Snowflake Swirly Wreath Card
Still on a Christmas theme, I made this card using the Stampin' Up Swirly Scribbles die for the Wreath. I then punched out different sizes of snowflakes. (I don't recall the manufacturer for the sentiment).
Merry Christmas Pastel Tag
For me Christmas colous are mainly green, white & red. Today I decided to try an alternative colour scheme.

I started by dragging an ink pad along the length of the tag, applying a different pressure as I went. I then stamped the blue snowflakes all over the surface. I used an Anna Griffin stamp for "The Merry Christmas" design/sentiment and inked the edges in various pastel shades.

Christmas Tag Memories - The Night Before Christmas
While making Christmas gift tags this evening, my mind became flooded with memories of when my children were young. I would read them the story "The Night Before Christmas" when they were snugged in their beds waiting for Father Christmas to arrive. So it seems apt to use part of the story on a tag.
I also made a couple of other tags too.

Winter Memories Christmas Card
Today I've been playing with some possible designs for Christmas cards.
I used a stamp from the Stampin' Up Winter Memories set for the picture, using my water colour pencils to colour the image. I die cut the image, setting it onto an oval mount. I then stamped two words, using stamps from Stampin' Up Holly Jolly Greetings set and then stuck die cut snowflakes adding a little sticky gem to the middle.

Frostyville Reindeer Christmas Card
With my mind back on Christmas again, I played with the Cricut machine and cut some prancing reindeers. I then used the Big Shot to cut the Frostyville border strip (Memorybox no.98146).

A Crafting Niche Weekly Update 2nd July 2016
No sewing this week but I have been creative with paper crafting. Still on a Christmas theme, I made more tags. I am especially pleased with these two which are so pretty in different ways.
I also made these other more simple tags:
I also found a card I had stamped some time ago but had never got round to doing anything with it, so I coloured it in using a brush & water colour pencils. I die cut the "thanks" using a Stampin' Up thinlet.
Other news is that my baking has continued, although due to the mixed weather, the builders have not been around as much to eat it so I had a gain at Fat Club!
Here's a pic of the Malteser Traybake which didn't hang around. You can find the recipe here.
It was absolutely yummy!
The building of the craft room hasn't really progressed much as we're waiting for a delivery of steel which is holding things up a bit.
That's about it from me for now.
P.S. Don't forget the final of The Great British Sewing Bee is on TV tomorrow evening (Monday 4th July 2016). xxx
