Lavinia Stamps "Time To Reflect"

I've had another play with my Lavinia Stamps.  This one didn't turn out at all what I had in mind when I created the background.

For the background, I have used four shades of Elements Inks:  Sundance, Sahara, Della Blue and Graphite.  I have also used "Dusty Concord" Distress Oxide Ink.

All stamping was done using Versafine Clair inks:  Nocturne and Morning Mist.

I used the following Lavinia Stamps for this card: Tree of courage, Forest Hares, Woodland Hares, Silhouette grass and foliage.  The "Magic Surroundings" verse and finally the "Time to reflect" sentiment.

Lavinia Stamps - Chinese Lanterns on a Brusho background

Yesterday, Eileen Godwin gave an on-line demo on a Brusho technique.  Although the technique wasn't new to me, it is something I have done in the past but not so recently, so I decided to have a play making this card.

This technique is definitely a "less is more" when it comes to using Brusho paint granules.  A little goes a very long way when water is added, leaving lots of pops of unexpected colour.

For this project I cut the middle paper in half, then cutting it down smaller again.  I used the Lavinia Stamps "Chinese Lanterns" stamp, stamped in a Memento Ink called "Peanut Butter".  I decided this was a good colour as I could lift it with shades of orange and it works well with olive greens and browns too.

I coloured the lanterns with Distress Oxide Inks, applied with a paint brush, adding highlight areas with a white Posca Pen.

Finally, I used the Lavinia Stamps "Time To Reflect" sentiment, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" Ink.  I feel that this sentiment is especially apt with everything going on in the world at the moment,

Lavinia Stamps February 2020 Monthly Challenge - Beneath The Moon

There is still time to enter the Lavinia Stamps monthly challenge for February 2020, which has a theme of "Beneath The Moon".  You have till the 25th to submit your maximum of five entries.  A name will be drawn from all entries and the winner will receive £40 of vouchers to spend on lovely Lavinia goodies.

I wanted to create something with Lavinia Stamps that did not include fairies and animals for a change.  Highlighting that you can produce a different card.

I masked off a circle for the moon and created the background using Distress Oxide Inks, using a swooshing through Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky colours.

I then added the green colours using Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint applied randomly with a paint brush.

I decided the sky needed to be darker, so added some "Chipped Sapphire" Distress Oxide ink.  I edged the masked moon using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  Then lifted the mask and added a touch of "Antique Linen" Distress Oxide Ink.

Using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink, I stamped the "Fairy Dandelions".  Using the same ink I stamped the "Time To Reflect" sentiment.

I added two sorts of Lavinia Moon Dust to the dandelions, which I hope shows up in the video clip above.
