I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" and "Morning Mist" to stamp the details, using the following Lavinia Stamps:

Lavinia Stamps "Let Your Spirit Take Flight"

It seems a long time since I have played with my Lavinia Stamps, so as it was raining this morning, I took the opportunity to have a crafting session.

I used a cicular gel plate background I had made some months ago as the base.  Using Versafine Clair "Verdant" green ink to stamp the foliage around the edge of the circle with the Lavinia Stamps "Twisted Vine" stamp set, with first and second generation stamping.

I used the "Tree Of Courage" stamped in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" and then "Acorn".  I then stamped "Darcy" part of the "Rory & Darcy set" in Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple ink.  Next I stamped the owl, which is part of the Lavinia 'Brodwin & Maylin set" drawing a lead from the hand to the owl.

Finally, I added the "Let your spirit take flight" sentiment, stamped in "Shady Lane" Versafine Clair ink and added some flowers to the grass using Posca Pens.

Lavinia Stamps December 2019 Monthly Challenge - Snow at Christmas

On the first of every month, Lavinia Stamps announce their new monthly challenge theme.  The theme for December 2019 is "Snow At Christmas".

If you enter the challenge (you can enter up to five times), and your name is randomly drawn, you will win £40 of vouchers to spend on lovely Lavinia goodies.

For my card, I started off creating a background using a selection of Distress Oxide Inks.  I used the swooshing technique and a paint brush to get this look.

I then stamped the "Shanty", using Versafine Clair "Twilight" which is a dark blue ink.  At first I stamped direct onto the card and then the second time on to a piece of rice paper.

At the top corner of the rice paper, I wrote right side in pencil, to remind me which way round was the right way.  I then flipped the rice paper over and started to colour the background using Arteza Brush Pens.

I then tore the edges of the rice paper so that there were no straight edges and pasted PVA glue on to the back. I then flipped it over and very carefully positioned the shanty over the original stamped image on the card.

The reason for me using the rice paper, was that I was able to achieve better colours to the shanty, rather than them beind distored by the Distress Oxide background.

Using the same "Twilight" ink, I stamped "Rory" from the "Rory and Darcy set".  His image didn't come out very cleanly, so I went over his image with a green Sakura Gelly Roll pen, which made him colour match that used on the shanty - so a happy accident!

I stamped the "Every Dream" sentiment in two lines across the large moon, using Versafine Clair "Twilight" ink.

I used a white Posca pen to create snow flakes, but it didn't really stand out very well, so I decided to get busy with the "Lavinia Holographic Moon Dust" to add some icy sparkle to the card.

I decided the foreground looked a bit bare, so I added some dots of "White Opal" Liquid Pearls.  As I was moving the card to the side to dry, I managed to drop it and smudge the wet white pearl droplets.  To cover the error, I used some green Liquid Pearls called "Mermaid", which very handily matched the colour of Rory and the door, so another happy accident.

Lavinia Stamps Raven - Birthday Card

My friend celebrates her birthday later this week.  Some months ago, when she was looking at the cards that I had made, she commented on how she liked the Lavinia Stamps "Rory & Darcy" and that if I made a birthday card for her, could I include them on it.  Fast forward six months and i've created what she asked for.  Hope she likes it.

For this card, I used a gel plate background that I had created some time ago, with a blue and mauve colours.

I started stamping the bottom green area, using the "Ivy Border Stamp" stamped one row on top of the other using Versafine Clair "Verdant" green ink.

I then stamped the "Sacred Spells" verse in the background using Versafine "Smokey Gray" ink, I stamped it three times across the card. At this stage, I masked off a spot light/moon area using Versafine Clair "Charming Pink" shade of ink.

Using Versafine Clair "Fantasia" purple ink, I stamped "Raven" on her branch the  extra branches using the"Tree Branch" and the "Birds".

I used the "Fairy Barnacle" stamp, stamped at the base of the card using Versafine Clair "Charming Pink" ink.  I then stamped the "Fern Heads" in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.

I stamped the "Rory and Darcy (the set)" characters, standing on the Fern Heads.  I stamped Rory and Darcy in Versafine Clair "Fantasia" purple ink.  Using the same ink, I stamped the "Climbing Ivy" in the bottom right hand corner.

Using Versafine Clair "Purple Delight" shade of ink (which is more pink than purple), I stamped the "Star Burst" pods.  I used the same ink to edge the card with.

Finally, I used a white and a silver glitter Signo pen to add highlight areas.  I also used Lavinia Stamps "Holographic Moon Dust" to areas of the fairy wings and the Star Burst Pods to add sparkle to the card.

Lavinia Stamps New Stamp Preview - "Tree of Dreams"

Tracey Dutton of Lavinia Stamps has been busy creating some fabulous designs, which in turn have been made into clear stamps.  The tree on this card is called "The Tree Of Dreams".  It is a stunning piece and will compliment the existing Lavinia range perfectly.

The launch of the new collection of stamps will be at the NEC  in Birmingham (stand A19) on Thursday 31st October.

I used a blotchy coloured background using the follwoign Distress Oxide Inks:  Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin and Salty ocean.

I used the "Carved Pumpkin" Distress Oxide ink through a Visible Image stencil called "Time Tunnel" to created the curved twirl look.

All the stamping was done in Versafine Clair "Monarch" ink, first the new stamp "Tree of Dreams", next I stamped "Darcy" from the "Small Rory & Darcy Set" (the little girl figure), then the fairy, which is part of the "Three Dancing Fairies" set of stamps.  The sentiment "Every Dream" is also one of the new release stamps.

I created the landscape using "Seedless Preserve" Distress Oxide ink and the torn edge of a piece of copy paper.

I added white highlights to the tree and figures using a Signo Pen.  For the creeper on the tree, I used a Sakura Gelly Roll pen and for the green dots, I used a shade of Liquid Pearls called "Mermaid"

Lavinia Stamps Design Team Samples for August 2019 Hochanda TV Samples - Tree of Faith

On the 22nd August 2019, Lavinia Stamps will be featured on Hochanda TV.  This is one of the Design Team samples I have made for the show.

The background of this card is made up of using the following colours of Distress Oxide Inks:  Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch.

I decided where I wanted the tree to be, but before stamping it created the moon shape by masking a circle and making the edge darker using a Versafine Clair "Paradise" shade of ink.  I then added an orange shade to the middle using a Distress Oxide Ink in the shade of Spiced Marmalade.

I stamped the "Tree Of Faith" using Versafine Clair "Medieval Blue" shade of ink.  I then stamped the "See A Fairy, Make A Wish" verse using Versafine "Stormy Grey" shade of ink.

Using Versafine Clair "Medieval Blue" shade of ink again, I stamped Rory from the "Rory & Darcy" stamp set and a fairy from the "Fairy Foragers" set.

Using a torn edge of card and a Distress Oxide Ink in the shade of "Chipped Sapphire" I created the landscape that Rory is standing on.

I stamped the sentiment "Once Upon A Dream" in two sections using Versafine Clair "Medieval Blue"

I used a blue glitter Signo Pen to add interest to the droplets on the "Tree of Faith".  I also added a few to the ground as if they are windfalls.

Using a Sakura Gelly Roll pen, I added highlighted areas to the tree, Rory and to the fairy.

Finally, I added some dots of white Posca Pen to imitate daisies on the ground, using an orange Posca Pen for the middle of the flowers.

Lavinia Stamps Design Team Sample August 2019 for Hochanda TV - Rory and Darcy

On 22nd August 2019, Lavinia Stamps will be featured on Hochanda TV, highlighting some of their fabulous stamp designs.  This is a Design Team sample I have made for the show.

I used a circle gelli plate with brayered Colorbox (mustard) Ink on to the plate and splashed Brusho Paint (Sand Stone colour) with a fan brush on top of the brayered surface, then printed the image onto card.

Using a circle mask, I created the moon by inking the edges using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" ink.

I stamped the "Tree of Faith" using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  Using the same ink, I stamped the "Birds".

I used the torn edge of cardstock, repostioned several time to create the landscape using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist".

Next, I stamped "Rory and Darcy" and the sentiment "Once Upon A Dream" in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Finally, using a Sakura Gelly Roll pen, I highlighted the gelli plate edge and the moon in gold.
