Funky Fossil - 15% Off Discount Code - Valentine's Gift Tag

Funky Fossil Designs are offering a 15% off discount code over the Valentine's weekend.  Just quote "HEART15" at checkout before midnight on Monday 17th February to claim your savings.

I made this Valentine's gift tag using "Victorian Velvet" Distress Oxide Ink through the Funky Fossil "Micro Dots" stencil.

I used the Funky Fossil "Folksy Christmas" clear stamp set for the "Love" word and the Funky Fossil "Scandi Home" clear stamp set for the hearts, all stamped in Versafine Clair "Chianti" dark red ink.

I die cut the banner shape using a Stampin' Up die.

Funky Fossil Folksy Christmas Snow Flurry Card

A few weeks back I had been playing with the Funky Fossil "Snow Flurry" Stencil, inking the surface and then spritzing water onto it, then printing the impression onto a plain piece of card.  The background of this card is one from that play session, where I have inked the stencil with two shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet shades. I like the mottled look this achieves.

I then stamped the angel from the Funky Fossil "Folksy Christmas" Clear Stamp Set on to the bottom right hand corner of the card.  I then stamped the image again on an off-cut of white card.

Using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink, I stamped the words, Love, Peace and Joy across the background, these words form part of the "Folksy Christmas" stamp set.

I then stamped some snowflakes in the two shades of Distress Oxide Inks I mentioned earlier (Wilted Violet and Mermaid Lagoon.

Returning to the angel stamped on the white card, I cut out the head and dress area, colouring with water colour pencils.  I then adhered it with foam pads over the angel image stamped on the card, which gives a nice 3D look, especially with the wings in the background.

Funky Fossil - Folksy Christmas Angel Card

Today I've had a play with an angel, which is part of the Funky Fossil "Folksy Christmas" clear stamp set.

I started by using Distress Oxides Inks in "Blueprint Sketch" and "Chipped Sapphire" with a blender to create the blue background.

I then used "Mustard Seed" Distress Oxide Ink through the Funky Fossil "Retro Starburst" stencil to create the star background.  I added white dots between the yellow stars to replicate a starry sky using a Posca pen.

On a white sheet of card, I stamped the angel shape using a Versafine Clair Ink called "Cheerful".

I painted the angel hair using Distress Oxide Ink "Squeezed Lemonade".  For the face I used "Tattered Rose" and for the cheeks "Picked Raspberry".

I used a gold glitter Signo pen to go around the edges of the angel and the detail on the wings.  I used a Sakura Gelly Roll pen to colour the neckline and waist detail of the outfit.

Finally, I mounted the blue background onto a white piece of cardstock.  Stamped the word "Peace" using Versafine Clair "Bluebelle" shade of ink.  I then adhered the angel to the middle of the card using foam pads to provide some dimension.

Day 1 - The Thirty Day Colouring Challenge #thedailymarker30day

Some friends of mine have introduced me to "The Thirty Day Colouring Challenge".  I actually don't do much colouring.  I stamp, I use stencils, I use brayers, but actual basic colouring, I just don't do.  I would love to perfect a technique for using my new Arteza Coloured Pencils and Arteza Brush Pens, so I thought this would be the ideal opportunity to get some practice of both.

Day 1 of the challenge.  I have stamped the Funky Fossil heart and love sentiment using their "Folksy Christmas" clear stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Glamorous".

I decided to colour the heart using an Arteza Coloured Pencil using a pink colour (ref: Fruit Punch A080).  It's a simple bit of colouring, but I guess I have to start somewhere!

I will be posting my makes on my instagram account too: https://www.instagram.com/sam_squires_/

Funky Fossil Designs New Release Stamp Preview October 2019 (Joy Clear Stamp Set)

I have some exciting news.  Funky Fossil Designs has some new stamp designs and you are going to love them. They will be available to purchase from their site from 9am on the 19th October 2019.  This is one of the sets and is called "Joy".

Make sure you check back on the 19th October, when I will be sharing information about a fabulous give away.

For this card, I used Kraft cardstock for the background and the "Funky Fossil Holly Wreath Stencil" with Distress Oxide Inks in Eveergreen Bough and Forest Moss colours.

Using Versafine Clair "Tulip Red" I stamped the "Ho Ho HO' sentiment which is part of one of the new clear stamp sets called "Joy".

I stamped the wreath foliage using stamps from the "Funky Fossil "Fa La La" clear stamp set" and the small snowflake from the "Funky Fossil Folksy Christmas" clear stamp set.

Finally, I added some pearl and ruby gem stones to replicate berries and the centre of the snowflakes.

If you have a moment to spare, please take a look at the gorgeous makes by my fellow Design Team colleagues:
