Tim Holtz "Idea-ology" "Pocket Card "David Niven" Artist Trading Card

This is my Artist Trading Card (ATC) for the day.  I have used pieces of Tim Holtz Idea-ology "Pocket cards" to make uo the background for this ATC.  I have cut and cropped a photo of David Niven from the book I found in the charity shop called "The Films of David Niven" and glued it into position on the card.

I then used the stencil from the Tim Holtz / Stampers Anonymous layering stencil "THMM173, Christmas Stamp & stencil set" with "Strawberry" red Versafine Clair ink, to create red polka dots.  I then circled these with a gold coloured gel pen.

I added colour to the photo of the couple using "Victorian Velvet" Distress Oxide Inks for the faces and "Candied Apple" Distress Oxide Ink for the lips.  I edged the card in "Peeled Paint" Distress Oxide Ink and then the very outer edge in "Strawberry" red Versafine Clair Ink.

Finally adding a Tim Holtz "Idea-ology" word sticker saying "It's always the small pieces, that make the big picture".

David Niven Artist Trading Card

I came across a fabulous hard backed book called "The Films of David Niven" on the charity table at our local Tesco.  The book has some wonderful black and white images in it, which I felt would be great for collage, which is how my Artist Trading Card (ATC) came about.

I used a yellow piece of card for the base, cut the picture from the book and glued it on to the card at an angle.  Using a black fine liner pen, I added horizontal and vertical lines and dots.

I then emptied my hole punch and added some coloured dots to the card and some small pieces of Tim Holtz "idea-ology" collage paper with French text on it.  I coloured the faces and napkins in the photo using Derwent Inktense pens.  I dragged a red ink pad over the surface of the card and inked the edges in black ink.  Finally, I added a die cut circle in yellow card and the Tim Holtz "Idea-ology" word sticker saying "I'm happiest when I'm with you"!
