Week 51 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2017

Can you believe it, this is the penultimate tag prompt for the year.  The prompt for Week 51 is "The Church Window".

For my tag, I started off with a Tim Holtz Distress ink background in purple shades.  I like to save my distress ink off-cuts from previous pieces, so I end up having lots of coloured strips.  I decided to put them across the mauve background in a diagonal angle.

Using a Memorybox die, (sorry, I don't have the packaging for this die and don't recall the name). I cut the decorative diamond shape in black card, layering it over the multi coloured background.

I then stamped the dove and used watercolours to paint the grey colour.  I found a punched sprig of leaves and stuck it to the tag, and then added the dove.

Finally, I die cut the word "Peace" using the Stampin' Up set called "Christmas Greetings Thinlits".

Don't forget, if you would like to see the prompts for previous weeks of this challenge, they can be found to the right of the "Home" button at the top of the page.

Also, I'd love to see your creations.  You could post them on the "A Crafting Niche" Facebook page.

Week 47 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2017

The prompt for Week 47 is "Clean and Simple".

Quite often in crafting less can be more, so this week keep your creativity relatively simple.

For my tag "Clean and Simple" goes hand in hand with white, so that's the way I went to match this prompt.  Using dies from the Stampin' up "Banners Framelits" die set, I used the two large dies in the set.  The smaller one, I put in a Crafter's Companion "Scandinavian Christmas Embossing Folder" then glued it to the top of the large die.

Using the Stampin' Up "Christmas Greetings Thinlits" dies I cut the word "Peace", sticking is across the centre of the tag.  Finally, I cut two pieces of mistletoe and a bow using the Stampin' Up "Pretty Pines" Thinlits dies.

Don't forget, if you want to see a list of previous prompts for this challenge, there is a list at the top of the page next to the "home" button.

Also, if you are taking part in this challenge, I would love to see what you make.  You can share your makes on "A Crafting Niche" Facebook Page here.

Frostyville Peace Tag

The base of this tag was embossed using a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing file.  I then inked the higher areas around the edges.

I then roughly tore a strip of cardstock in a similar shade to expose the inner white core on the edges.  I then stamped this section with a snowflake design using a Brilliance Ink Pad "Platinum Planet" shade.

Next I die cut a Memorybox Frostyville Border (style 98146) and cut it to size sticking it to the base of the tag.

In my scrap bits box I found a Stampin' up "Swirly Scribbles" wreath which tied in with the colour scheme so I stuck that to the middle area.  Using a Stampin' up "Christmas Greetings" die for the word "Peace" I cut and positioned this over the top of the wreath.

Also in the bottom of my oddments box I found some pre punched snowflakes in white, so I added these to the wreath area.

The tag was finished off with self adhesive gems and ribbon.

Merry Christmas Wreath Card

This card has lots of die cuts, with minimal stamping (only the sentiment). I'm really happy with the way it has turned out.

I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the textural background.  I used Stampin' Up "Swirly Scribbles" die for the wreath (I cut two). I  then used Stampin' Up "Pretty Pines die" to cut the foliage and the red bow (I cut two sizes of this for dimension).  I glued everything into place adding some self adhesive pearls to represent the berries for the mistletoe.

I then die cut the word "Merry" using Stampin' Up "Christmas Greeting thinlits".  To finish I stamped the word "Christmas" using Papertrey Ink "Wreath For All Seasons" Christmas sentiment.

Merry Christmas Wreath Card 2

Continuing my theme of Christmas wreath cards, I also made this one., which I really like.

The stamped wreath and berries is from a Papertrey Ink stamp set called "Wreath For All Seasons" I then die cut into intp a circle shape.  I did the same with a fancy edged circle in green cardstock and mounted the two together.

I then stamped the Christmas sentiment to the bottom of the card and die cut the "Merry" sentiment using a Stampin' Up set called "Christmas Greetings Thinlits".
