Lavina Stamps "Robin" card

I came across a tag I had made last year, which was inspired by a tutorial by Emma-Jo of Lavinia Stamps, so decided to make a card loosely based on that.

I masked off the edges of the card using a low tack tape, then used five shades of Elements Inks for the background colours:  Sundance, Confetti, Violet Chalk, Della Blue and Dark Denim.

I used the "Dark Denim" Elements Ink through the Lavinia Stamps "Ivy Stencil. Then splattered water droplets from a fan shaped paint brush to give a more textured background. I blotted then wafted my heat gun over the surface to ensure it was dry before stamping.

Retaining the masked edges, I stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Fern Branches" off the edge of the card using Versfine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Using Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink, I stmaped the Lavinia Stamps "Holly" leaves around the base of the card.

I then used Versafine Clair "Pinecone" dark brown ink to stamp the birds, which are part of the Lavinia Stamps "Bird Collection set", adding red Posca Pen to the breast area.

I used a white Unibal Signo Pen to draw on the snow on the branches,  A gold shimmer gel pen around the holly leaves.  A red Posca Pen for the holly berries and a yellow sparkle Posca pen for little glimmery sparkly dots across the surface of the card, which sadly don't really show up too well in the photograph.

Lavinia Stamps "Pumpkin Lodge" Card

I wasn't exactly stalking postie, but I was keeping a little eye out for him this morning, having received an email to say that my order of the new Lavinia Stamps collection would be arriving today.

I wasn't disappointed either.  They arrived, I repackaged them, logged them on my spreadsheet and then got to play with some of them to make this card.  

I made this card totally from scratch, so often these days I go to my folder of backgrounds I have already made, so all I need to do is create the image, but today I did the whole lot of gel printing and then stamping - inbetween coughing and spluttering, the cold is still with me unfortunately, but crafting is a good distraction. 

To create the background, I pulled out a selection of Lavinia Elements Inks and put them directly on to the gel plate.  These are the colours I used:  Greensleeves, Olive, Bermuda, Della Blue, Violet Chalk and Dark Denim.  I then spritzed the gel plate with water and placed the blank card on to the gel plate, leaving for a few seconds and smoothing the surface to ensure that the surface was covered.  I lifted the card and set aside to dry while I tidied the desk.

I stamped the new Lavinia Stamps "Pumpkin Lodge on to the dry gel print and then on to an off-cut of white card using Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink.

I stamped the new Lavinia Stamps "Fairy Crook" in Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.  I then stamped two of the new "Ickle Pumpkins" in Versafine Clair "Twilight" ink and then stamped them again on a white piece of card using Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink.

I coloured the three pumpkins on the white card using a selection of Derwent Inktense Pencils, then fussy cut them and stuck them over the stamped images on the gel print background.

Using Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink, I stamped the Lavinia "Path".  Then the "Pixy Houses" in the distance using Versafine Clair "Twilight" ink.

I used Versafine Clair "Falling Leaves" brown ink to stampe the"Wild Berries" to look like they were climbing up the "Fairy Crook". I used red and orange Posca pens to colour the berries.

Using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink, I stamped the "Small Branch" in first and second generation stamping, then used one of the "Foliage Set" and the same ink.

I used Posca Pens, Gel Pens and Pastel Pencils to add extra detail to the scene.

Sweet Poppy Stencils "Plaid Backplate" Christmas Gift Tags

I've had a quick play making a couple of Christmas gift tags. The Sweet Poppy "Plaid Backplate Stencil" is actually on offer at the moment, till 8th September, so an ideal time to purchase it, if you don't already have it.  Here's the link to it!

For the red plaid tag, I used "Festive Berries" Distress Oxide ink through the Sweet Poppy "Plaid Backplate Stencil" on a cream card background. I then used a "Metallic Rose Gold" paint by That's Crafty through the (now retired) Sweet Poppy Christmas Bauble Stencil also by Sweet Poppy.

For the purple tag, I used a mid coloured piece of purple card, using "Violet Chalk" Elements Ink through the Sweet Poppy "Plaid Backplate Stencil".  I then used Sweet Poppy "Red Glossy Dimension Paste" through the Sweet Poppy Christmas Baubles stencil.

Lavinia Stamps "Mirror Image Stamping" on a mop brush background

 

A few days ago, Tracey Dutton of Lavinia Stamps did a demonstration creating a landscape using mop paint brushes.  I thought I'd try it for myself.

I didn't recall what paint/ink Tracey used, but decided to use inks from the Lavinia "Elements" collection, by putting some on my glass mat and using a very wet mop paint brush to lift and dilute the ink for painting.

I spritzed a piece of water colour card a little on one side and a lot on the other, this stops it from curling up.  I then used my fully loaded with water and ink large mop brush with "Sundance" Elements ink.  I used my heat gun to dry it, then applied "Russet Orange" then repeated the dry and paint using "Confetti" and then "Violet Chalk" ink

Once fully dry, I stamped the Lavinia "Tree Group" stamp on a piece of Acetate, stamping in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I then applied this on to the coloured background to create the reflection.  It doesn't matter if the image doesn't come out fully as reflections are not always exact due to the movement of water (this is called "Mirror Image Stamping").  I then stamped the "Tree Group" again, using Versfine Clair "Nocturne" black ink above the reflections already stamped.

I decided to darken the sky area using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.  Something I didn't think about was that the yellow and blue would create a green hint to the sky and reflection - I guess you'd call it a "Happy Accident"!

I used a black pastel pencil to create the impression of a little movement in the water.

Finally, I stamped the word "Silence" which is part of one of the new Lavinia Stamps word sets called "Nightfall", using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Mideela" Birthday Card

Like many paper crafters, I strunggle to make cards suitable for males, when you add to that the pressure of creating for a close family member and the need to get the card in the post, my stress levels get high. This was the situation I was in this morning, resulting in this clean looking card using Lavinia Stamps.

I used the Lavinia "Circle mask" blending four colours of elements inks (Sundance, Russet Orange, Paprika and Graphite) to create the central coloured image

I stamped the small Lavinia dragon called "Mideela" and the sentiment from the "Welsh Words" stamp set in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  I added small dots of a gold shimmer gel pen to areas of the card too.

Tag Book Front Cover - Karen Telfer's "24 Days of Tags 2022"

Today, I have made a front and back cover for my tag book which holds the tags made for the Karen Telfer's "24 Days of Tags 2022" challenge.  I secure them all together with a book ring, so that I can flip through the tags easily. 

The back cover is plain, but I wanted the front to be vibrant.  I took inspiration from a demo I saw by Lavinia Stamps Emma-Jo's tag 12.  Here is the link if you want to take a look.

I've used the following shades of Lavinia Stamps Elements Inks:  Dark Denim, Della Blue, Violet Chalk, Graphite, Confette and Sundance.

I have also use the Lavinia Stamps "Ivy Stencil", their "Gip" stamp and their "Bird Collection" with Versafine Clair inks". Nocturne, Twilight, Acorn and Pinecone.

Other products I have used are a red Posca pen, Xmas Red Stickles, Dr Ph.Martin's Bleed Proof ink for the snow on the branches and the flakes in the air.

I printed the "24 Days of Tags" on the computer and printed then die cut into shape.  The 2022 were also die cut through the Big Shot.

Lavinia Stamps "Stag Snowscene" card

For this card, I was inspired by a recent card made by one of my crafting friends, Susan Bradney.

To create the sky, I have used four Lavinia Stamps "Elements Ink" colours:  Sundance, Russet Orange, Della Blue and Graphite.

I've used both the large and the smaller Lavinia Stamps "Red Pines", the "Stag"  and the "Nadolig Llawen" sentiment, which is part of the "Welsh Words" sentiment stamp set, all stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Tag Book Cover for "24 Days of Tags 2021" Challenge with Karen Telfer

I am trying to tick off things on my list that need to be done/completed.  One of the items was to make a cover for the 2021 "24 Days of Tags" challenge with Karen Telfer.  I had made all the tags, mounted them on to black card, but never got round to making a cover for them.  So I decided to address that today. 

I used the Lavinia Stamps "Confetti" Elements Inks with their "Splendour" stencil to create the background design.

Using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink, I stamped the Lavinia "Bell Flower Vine" stamp, colouring with Distress Oxide inks applied with a brush.

I die cut the 24 and printed the text on the computer before mounting and adhering on to the tag.

Lavinia Stamps "Wild Poppies" on a Devine Stencilled background

Continuing my play wih the new Lavinia Stamps stencils, I made this card. 

Using the "Divine" stencil I partially heat embossed a section of the card using Wow! Embossing ink and their "Mistletoe Magic" embossing powder.  

I then used three shades of "Elements Inks" Pine, Blue Lagoon and Russet Orange for the area that wasn't heat embossed.

Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink to stamp the "Wild Poppies" and the sentiment, which is part of the "Heartfelt Verse" stamp set.

Lavinia Stamps "Woodland Sprite" on an Eileen Godwin style background

Today I wanted to craft, but my mind wouldn't settle on something to make.  So I turned to the super talented Eileen Godwin for inspiration.  Watching one of her recent "Me To You" Facebook tutorials.  The background of this card, is my take on that tutorial.

To create the background I used four Elements inks:  Russed Orange, Della Blue, Confetti and Sundance with the straight edge of a hill mask and one of the circle/moon masks.

I decided one of the circles would be the moon behind the fairy, so used some white and yellow Pan Pastels to lighten the circle.  I then stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Woodland Sprite" fairy in Versafine Clair "Twilight" ink.

On the left hand side of the card, I used second generation stamping of Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" to stamp the "Faerie Spells" script. I then used "Twilight" again to stamp the "Believe in magic" sentiment.

I used a white gel pen to add highlights to the fairy, then used a mini star stamp to create a twinkle starry look around the fairy, adding touches of "White Opal" Liquid Pearls to the middle of the stars and to create a circle around the moon.

Lavinia Stamps "Foliage" Card

This morning I should be cleaning the caravan, instead I've been faffing making this foliage card.

I used the "Sundance" Elements Ink brayered on to one half of the card so that the colour fades out to one side.

Using a selection of Versafine Clair inks (Shady Lane, Morning Mist, Acorn and Chianti), I stamped the foliage using the following Lavinia Stamps:

• Maple Leaf
• Vine
• Small Branch
• Foliage Set
• Heartfelt Verse

I also used Gel Pens and Posca Pens to add extra touches to the card

Lavinia Stamps "Wild Hare in a Floral Wreath" Card

More Lavinia Stamps play from me today, this time creating a masked landscape within the floral wreath. 

I used Confetti, Graphite and Russet Orange Elements inks with the Lavinia Flower mask to create the central background colour.

I then stamped the "Floral Wreath" in Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple ink, colouring the flower buds with "Villainous Potion" Distress Oxide Ink, applied with a brush.

I used the Lavinia "Hill Mask" with Versafine Clair "Morning Mist and "Monarch" innk to create the landscape.

I then used the "Small Trees" stamp set, stamped in first and second generation stamping of "Morning Mist" Distress Oxide Ink.  I then stamped the hare, which is part of the "Wild Hare Set".  Finally, I used a white gelly roll pen and yellow and orange Posca Pens for detail on the small flowers.

Lavinia Stamps "Liberty" and the Hare Card

I had a play with another of the new release stamps from Lavinia Stamps, using the new "Liberty" stamped in Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze", coloured with Derwent Inktense pencils on an "Elements" ink background.

I used a hare from the Lavinia "Wild Hare Set" stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" ink and used the Lavinia "Every Dream" sentiment, also stamped in "Warm Breeze" ink.  

I added touches of a while gel roll pen and also light splatters of water to add interest to the more solid areas of the card.

Lavinia Stamps "Whimsical Hares" Second Birthday Card

 

Here's a birthday card I've made using a selection of goodies from Lavinia Stamps.

I created the circle background using a circle mask with Lavinia Stamps Elements "Bermuda" and "Mermaid" through their "Foliage Stencil".

I stamped the hares around the edge of the circle, using the Lavinia Stamps "Whimsical Hares" stamp set and Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Around the edge of the circle and the hares, I multi stamped one of the Lavinia floral pound stamps in Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink.  I added touches of orange to some of the larger flowers using a Posca Pen.

I die cut a number two and coloured it with an orange Posca Pen, I then added spots to the the die cut number using a white Gelly Roll pen.  While I had the pen in my hand, I also added highlights to the hares.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment , which is part of the Lavinia Stamps "Heartfelf Verst" stamp set in "Warm Breeze" Versafine Clair ink.
