52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge
Funky Fossil Designs will be appearing on Hochanda TV this Sunday, 10th May with a selection of goodies including some new stamp sets.
This is a sample I have made for the show using one of the new stamp sets called "Furry Friends". I think this may be one of my favourites already!
For this sample, I created the background first, using Distress Oxide Inks. I used "Chipped Sapphire" and "Blue Print Sketch" for the sky and "Mowed Lawn" for the grass area.
I used the Funky Fossil "Shooting Stars" stencil with a Wow! Clear embossing ink pad and Wow! Super Fine Metallic Silver embossing powder, and heat set the stars.
I stamped the dog in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink and coloured it with Arteza Brush Pens and Posca Pens.
I added some tufty grass in the foreground and created flowers in the grass using Posca Pens

I used a background I had made using a gelli plate as the base of this card. I used two shades of Distress Oxide Inks through the "Into The Wild Stencil" for the trees at the base of the card. I used the same stencil for the birds at the top.
I used Distress Oxide Ink through the Funky Fossil "Compass" stencil, positioned at an angle.
I then used the sentiment from the "Adventure" clear stamp set in the middle of the compass, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

This is a sample I have made for the show using an "art board".
On a plain piece of turquoise coloured card, I stuck sections of text torn from an old book. Then gave the whole area a turquoise coloured wash.
Once dry, I used the "Funky Circle Stencil" and "Stormy Sky" Distress Oxide Ink to create part sections of the circle.
On plain white card, I stamped some of the flowers and leaves from the new "Funky Florals" stamp set using Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink. I also stamped a few swirls onto the base I had already prepared. I then used the same ink through the "Distressed Diamonds stencil".
I fussy cut the flowers and leaves. I added some Stickles glitter to the centre of the flowers and used Signo glitter pens on the leaves. I then adhered the shapes on to the art board to create a garland of flowers from top to bottom.

I've used the Funky Fossil "Abstract Beauty" clear stamp set for this card. Stamping the face, then the flowers, the butterfly over the eyes and the one by the flowers, all stamped in Versafine ink.
I used a selection of Distress Oxide Inks to colour the image, using a gold glitter Sakura Gelly Roll pen o the butterflies.
I added the "Brave Beauty" words using "Wilted Violet" Distress Oxide Inks through the Funky Fossil "Fierce Words" stencil. Using the same ink, I added the butterflies through the Funky Fossil "Butterfly Flurry" stencil.

I used two shades of Paperartsy chalk paint for the background, starting with a wash and building up the colours of the stripes.
I used the Funky Fossil "Abstract Beauty" stamp set, stamping the flowers and the head in Versafine "Smokey Gray" and Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink.
I cut around the flowers and the face and then painted the flowers using Distress Oxide Inks. I then adhered them onto the background.
I used Versafine Clair "Blue Belle" ink through the "Butterfly Flurry" stencil and the "Fierce Words" stencil. I used a Signo glitter pen on the eye and lip area
Lavinia Stamps will be appearing on Hochanda TV on Friday 7th January at mid-day and 3pm. Amanda Branston will be demonstrating a fabulous selection of stamps, accessories and techniques.
For this sample, I used a background created using Dylusions Spray Ink to create a red, orange and yellow shaded background.
I stamped the "Berry Leaves" in two shades of Versafine Clair ink (Tulip Red and Chianti). I then stamped the "Druid's Inn" tree in the Chianti shade and added some more leaves where needed. Using the same shades of ink, I stamped the "Mini Berries".
I stamped the pixie, which is part of the "Small Pixies" set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink. I then stamped some stars around the pixie using Memento "London Fog" ink.
I coloured the tree bark in an assortment of green and brown shades using fine liner pens and a gold metallic pen. I added some gold shimmer to the steps, areas of the pixie and to the stars. I used a white Posca Pen to add highlight areas to the berries.
Lavinia Stamps will be appearing on Hochanda TV on Friday 7th February at mid-day and 3pm, with a selection of stamps and accessories demonstrated by Amanda Branston.
For the background of this card, I have used Colorbox "Artichoke" green ink brayered onto a gelli plate. I have then sprinkled diluted 'Orange" coloured Brusho from a fan brush which has created the speckled look.
To enhance the colour of the sky, I added some "Broken China" and "Chipped Sapphire" Distress Oxide Inks.
Once the background was dry, I used the torn edge of a piece of copy, dragging ink (Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink) over the edge to create the landscape in the background. I used a circle to mask the moon area and edged it with the same ink.
I stamped the "Celestial Tree" in the background using a grey ink (Versafine Clair "Morning Mist"). Making the trees lighter gives the impression of depth to the image.
Using Versafine Clair "Pinecone" dark brown ink, I stamped the hare, which is part of the "Whimsical Hares" stamp set. Using the same ink, I stamped the baby hedgehog, which is part of "The Wallace Family" stamp set.
Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, I stamped the "Wild Poppies". Using a white Posca Pen, I edged the hare and hedgehog in white. I added a little bit of shimmer to the edges of the poppies using a Sakura Gelly Roll pen.
Lavinia Stamps will be appearing on Hochanda TV on Friday 7th January 2020 at mid-day and 3pm. Amanda Branston will be representing Lavinia with stamps, accessories and demonstrations.
I've made a very simple card for this sample. I created the background using two shades of Dylusion Ink Sprays (Crushed Grape and Vibrant Turquoise).
I rubbed the dry background with an anti-static bag and then stamped the large "Fairy Chain" using Wow! Embossing clear pad. I then coated the clear image in Wow! Super Fine Metallic Silver Embossing Powder. I then heated the image from underneath the image. I find I get a better result heating in this way than from the top.
I cut the image down to size then stamped the "Creeping Vine" multiple times using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.
I mounted the image on to black card and then on to a white card. I then added some "Holographic Moon Dust" to the wings of the fairies and to areas of the ivy too.

This is a sample I have made for the show. I have used a background created on a gelli plate using a Colorbox ink called "Grape" brayered on to the gelli plate and removing most of the colour so there is just a touch of lilac/grey then splashing some turquoise coloured Brusho lightly onto the plate using a fan shaped brush.
Once the background was dry, I staped the "Celestial Tree" in two shades of Versafine Clair ink (Nocturne and Morning Mist). I then created the landscape by dragging ink over the torn edge of a piece of copy paper.
Using the Nocturne and Morning Mist inks again, I stamped the "Whimsical Hare", the "Wild Poppies" and the "Berry Leaves".
I inked the edges of the card and the areas around the tree using the Nocturne ink. I decided I wanted a bit more blue, so added some colour using a Distess Oxide Ink in the shade of "Salty Ocean".
I used white and blue Posca Pens to create the light coming up from the hill side. I added some subtle sparkle to the card by using a silver glitter Signo Pen around some of the foliate and dots in the sky for stars.
It's time to preview another sample that I have made for Lavinia Stamps for their forthcoming Hochanda TV shows.
For this sample I have used a 6" gelli plate with two Colorbox Inks (artichoke and grape shades),lightly brayered on, this provides a nice quiet and calm background. Using a fan paint brush, I splattered turquoise Brusho droplets onto the gel plate before pulling the image.
The first stamping was "Druid's Inn" tree, which I stamped in Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink. I then coloured the tree using Distress Oxide Inks in "Mowed Lawn" and "Vintage Photo" shades.
Using Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" a teal coloured ink, I stamped the "Berry Leaves". Using a Memento ink in the shade of "Pear Tart", I stamped the "Mini Berry", adding highlights with a white Posca pen.
I decided the image needed a figure, so used a fairy from a set called "Three Dancing Fairies", stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist". I added the word "Dreams", which is part of the set called "Never Let Go", stamped in Versafine Clair "Acorn" ink.
I added two shades of Lavinia "Moon Dust" a blue/green one to the hanging foliage and a silver holographic one to the fairy.
Finally, I cut a circle mask to lay over the top of the image I had created and splattered three shades of Distress Oxide inks (Broken China, Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn) to cover an area where I had managed to transfer some ink onto the white area in error.
Lavinia Stamps will be on Hochanda TV on Friday 7th February 2020 at 12pm and 3pm. This is a sample that I have made for the show.
I have used two Distress Oxide Inks, Antique Linen and Pumice Stone to create the background colours.
I stamped "The Oracle" figure in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink. I stamped the "Embrace Your Dreams" sentiment in the same ink.
I masked off a circle for the moon and edged it with Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink. I used the same ink to create the landscape using the torn edge of a piece of copy paper.
On a separate piece of card, I tried out various shades of Versafine Ink with the border stamp to see which I preferred. I decide on using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink to stamp four "Floral borders". I then adhered them on to the stamped image and cut down to size.
Finally, I used a Sakura Gelly Roll pen to give some soft gold shimmer to the hair, moon and The Oracle Figure
On Friday 7th February at 12pm and 3pm Lavinia Stamps will be on Hochanda TV with a selection of stamps, inks and other stamping products demonstrated by Amanda Branston.
To make the circular background, I have used a 6" gelli plate with two shades of Colorbox Inks (Artichoke and Grape) brayered onto the plate. Using a fan brush I have lightly splattered wet Brusho paint and also some water to get the mottled look.
I started by stamping the "Celestial Tree" in the background using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink. Then using the same ink and a torn piece of copy paper, I created the landscape beneath the trees.
I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink to stamp the "Forest So Green" sentiment, the "Large Fairy Chain" and the "Creeping Vine" around the bottom of the circle.
Using a white and orange coloured Posca Pen, I added the flowers to the grass in the foreground. I also added some gold shimmer to the dancing fairies using a Sakura Gel Pen. I also added a light dusting of "Holographic Moon Dust" glitter.
Lavinia Stamps will be appearing on Hochanda TV show casing some of their fabulous range of stamps and accessories on Friday 22nd November 2019 at 10am or 3pm. Don't forget to pop it on record if you're not able to watch it live.
I am so fortunate to be part of the Lavinia Stamps Design Team. I joined in January of this year and it still doesn't feel real. Being part of the team also means I get to play with the new release products before they are released. This is a card I made for the Hochanda shows.
It's a really simple card, I've only used two stamps "Sirlus" the Pegasus and the "Small Fairy Fir Tree".
I used some hot pink card to stamp Sirlus on, using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.
On the outer edge of the card, I started to stamp the fir tree, first in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist", which is a grey ink, then in the gaps I stamped the same tree to overlap, in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, this tree stamping formed a frame around the pegasus.
I masked off a circle and used Nocturne around the edge and also to make the landscape behind the pegasus using a torn edge of copy paper.

I am very fortunate to be part of the Lavinia Stamps Design Team. I've been part of the team coming up for a year and I am still stunned to be representing such a great UK company. Of course one of the many bonuses of being on the Design Team is that I get to play with products before they are on general release. I've made this card for the Hochanda show.
I started creating this card by painting the background using a paint brush with Distress Oxide Inks. These are the colours I used: Shabby Shutters, Mowed Lawn, Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac and Broken China.
I stamped the "Meadow Mushrooms" in Versafine Clair "Acorn" ink. I then stamped "Pippin" in Versafine Clair "Tumbled Leaves" brown ink.
I stamped the "Fairy Orchid" in two colours of Versafine Clair Inks: Shady Lane for the stem and Monarch for the flower head.
I used a white Signo pen to highlight areas of the card.

I am very fortunate to be part of the Lavinia Stamps Design Team which means I get to play with the new stamps before they are released to the public. This is one of the cards I made to promote the show.
For this card I started by covering a plain white piece of card with "Antique Linen" Distress Oxide Inks, creating a mottled/aged style background.
I stamped the fairy called "Celeste" first, using Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple coloured ink. Using the same ink, I stamped the "Faerie Spells" sentiment.
I then created the foliage swag. First I stamped the "Fir Tree Branch" in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink. I added the "Pound Stamp - Holly", stamped in Versafine Clair "Rain Forest" dark green coloured ink. I stamped the "Pound Stamp - Berries" using a Memento Ink called "Rhubarb Stalk".
Finally, I stamped some pound stamp stars across the card using a Brilliance Ink called "Galaxy Gold". I added some white highlights to various areas of the card.
Once the card was fully dry, I positioned the letter dies across the image, securing with a low tack tape before running through the big shot machine.
I removed the letters from the image and turned the card upside down, so that the base of the card was showing. I adhered some red paper over the word area. I then mounted the card on a dark red coloured card and then onto a cream base.
Flipping the card with the right side upright, I cut foam pads and stuck them onto the base of the letters. I then positioned them over the red letter shape. This gives a raised look to the word "Peace" and you get a little glimpse of the red to add interest too.
