Lavinia Stamps "Ash" and "The Fairy Hives" Tag

Having taken a break from crafting for a few weeks, it feels so good to be back in the swing of things again.  Today, I've made quite a dark tag with a selection of Lavinia Stamps and Stencils.

I started with a Distress Oxide Spray Ink background.  I'd made it such a long time ago, that I don't recall what colours I used.  I placed the new Lavinia "Elegance" stencil over the top of the background and used "Mowed Lawn" Distress Oxide ink through the stencil.  I gave it a blast from the heat gun, to ensure it was dry before multi-stamping "Embrace your dreams" verse stamp from Lavinia along the left hand side, graduating to across the bottom of the tag.  I stamped the verse in second generation "Morning Mist" a Versafine Clair grey coloured ink.

Next I stamped "Ash" the fox.  I used two Versafine Clair colours for him, first "Tulip Red" then "Acorn" a warm brown ink.  I stamped the Lavinia "Tree Branch" in Versafine Clair "Pinecone" brown ink and then stamped the "Fairy Hives" in Versafine Clair Acorn" ink.

I used a white Posca Pen to add some white detail to the fur and to the tree.  I used a metallic gold pen to add detail to the "Fairy Hives" and a copper coloured Liquid Pearls to the tree and to the Fairy Hive.

Finally, I inked the edges of the tag in "Crackling Camp Fire" Distress Oxide ink and then gave a thin border using Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink before mounting the tag on to a piece of dark red cardstock.

Lavinia Stamps February 2002 Hochanda TV Show Preview - Set 4

Lavinia Stamps will be on Hochanda TV on Friday 7th February at 12pm and 3pm, with a fabulous selection of stamps and accessories demonstrated by Amanda Branston.

I used the "Border Stamp Floral" stamped at an angle in three different shades of pale blue/turquoise Colorbox Cats Eye inks.  I then cut the stamped area into a rectangle.

I stamped "The Oracle" figure using Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink which is like a teal colour.  Using the same ink, I created a light landscap, by dragging the ink down over the torn edge of a piece of copy paper.  I used a pencil to ground the figure and staff.

I decided to stamp the sentiment "Embrace Your Dreams" vertically, using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey shade of ink.

Finally, I used a Sakura Gelly Roll pen to add a little subtle sparkle to the card.

Lavinia Stamps February 2020 Hochanda TV Show Sample Preview - Set 4

On Friday 7th February at 12pm and 3pm Lavinia Stamps will be on Hochanda TV with a selection of fabulous stamps, with techniques demonstrated by Amanda Branston.

This is a sample I created using some of the stamps that will be available to purchase on the TV show.

For my sample, I started by creating the background by placing "Antique Linen" and "Pumice Stone" Distress Oxide Ink onto my glass mat, giving the ink a light spritz of water and then swooshing the piece of card through the colours.  For areas that swooshing the colour missed, I used a paint brush to fill the gaps.  This provided a nice mottled background a little like marbelling.

Using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink, I stamped "The Oracle" as the main focal point of the card.

I created the steps that "The Oracle" stands on by using the "Floral Border Stamp" in a vertical position, stamping at four times in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.

Using the same ink, I stamped the "Celestial Tree" in the background and the "Creeping Vine" in the foreground, both these stamps will be available on the Hochanda shows too.

I added touched of solid gold colour to the flower centres on the "Floral Border" steps and also to the "Celestial Trees".  Using a Sakura Gelly Roll Pen, I added some gold shimmer to the hair and outline of "The Oracle".

I inked the edges of the card and then mounted it onto green card, then mounted that onto a mottled background, created in the same way as I made the background for the central image.  I used the first two lines of "Embrace Your Dreams" sentiment with Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.  I then mounted the whole card onto a black background which makes the whole image pop.

Lavinia Stamps, February 2020 Hochanda TV Show Sample Prieview - Set 4

Lavinia Stamps will be on Hochanda TV on Friday 7th February 2020 at 12pm and 3pm.  This is a sample that I have made for the show.

I have used two Distress Oxide Inks, Antique Linen and Pumice Stone to create the background colours.

I stamped "The Oracle" figure in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  I stamped the "Embrace Your Dreams" sentiment in the same ink.

I masked off a circle for the moon and edged it with Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I used the same ink to create the landscape using the torn edge of a piece of copy paper.

On a separate piece of card, I tried out various shades of Versafine Ink with the border stamp to see which I preferred.  I decide on using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink to stamp four "Floral borders".  I then adhered them on to the stamped image and cut down to size.

Finally, I used a Sakura Gelly Roll pen to give some soft gold shimmer to the hair, moon and The Oracle Figure

Lavinia Stamps August 2019 Monthly Challenge - Create Your Own Dream #2

On the first of each month, Lavinia Stamps announce a new monthly challenge theme.  The theme for August 2019 is "Create Your Own Dream".  If you enter and your name is drawn, after the 25th you could win £40 of vouchers to spend on Lavinia goodies.

This is a card that I have made as part of the Lavinia Stamps Design Team.

I used Distress Oxide Sprays to create the background, using Fossilised Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Faded Jeans shades.

Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink,  I stamped the wolves Maka (the seated wolf) and Valko (the standing wolf).

I then masked off a circle for the sun and edged it with Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" ink.  Using the same ink, I created the landscape, by tearing a piece of paper and dragging the ink from the paper downwards, which I repeated several times with the paper in different positions. Using the same ink, I stamped the "Skeleton Tree".

Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink again, I stamped the "Birds" and part of the "Embrace Your Dreams" sentiment.  Finally, I inked the edge of the card and then added some white high-lights to the wolves using a white Signo Pen.

The Dusk Garden #laviniastamps

I had a late night play session and created this piece.  The lovely background colours are a mix of several shades of Distress Oxides:  Festive Berries, Candied Apple, Aged Mahogany, Ripe Persimon, Fosilized Amber and Abandoned Coral.

I have used Lavinia Stamps throughout this card.  I started by stamping "Wild Vines" in Versafine "Stormy Grey" ink along the bottom of the card.

Using Versafine "Black Onyx" ink for the rest of the card I stamped the "Nigela Damascena" thistles and the "Fairy Buds" (the tall flowers) then more "Wild Vines" and finally the sentiment/verse called "Embrace Your Dreams".

Finally I added touches of gold using a Signo Pen and touches of gold sparkle using a Sakura Gelly Roll pen and inked the edges in black ink.
