Lavinia Stamps "Bron" with a fairy in her hand card

A quick card from me this morning using Lavinia Stamps again. Today features Bron with a fairy in her hand.

I masked off the edges of the card, to ensure I didn't get ink on the edges.  I then used four Archival Inks (Chrome Yellow, Bright Tangelo, Leaf Green and Cornflower Blue) through the Lavinia Stamps "Ambiance" stencil.

I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink for all the stamping, starting with "Bron" the seated fairy.  I then used one of the tiny fairies from the "Fairy Foragers" stamp set, placing her on Bron's finger tips.

I then stamped the Lavinia verse, which is called "Forest So Green".  Finally stamping the birthday sentiment on the bottom right of the card, using a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Birthday".

Using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" I created the land Bron sits on, using  a pencil to ground below the bottom and her feet.

I used a pink Signo gel pen to colour the wings and hair.  I then used a Uni-bal Signo Silver glitter pen to add touches of sparkle around the fairies.

Lavinia Stamps February 2020 Hochanda TV Sample Preview - Set 3

Lavinia Stamps will be on Hochanda TV on Friday 7th February at mid-day and 3pm.  Amanda Branston will be demonstrating some fabulous stamps, accessories and tecniques.

I tried something a bit different with the background of this card, using a mini gelli plate with Artichoke and Grape Colorbox Inks brayered onto the plate with a sprinkle of wet turquoise coloured Brusho, repeating the pressing of the circles to create something similar to a bokeh look.

I decided that the background would distract from the stamping so, covered some of it with Distress Oxide Inks - Tumbled Glass and Broken China at the top and Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn on the bottom.

Using the torn edge of a piece of copy paper, I dragged Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink to create a landscape.  I masked off a circle for the moon and edged the moon with the same ink.

Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, I stamped the large "Fairy Chain" across the middle of the card.  I then cut the card down to the size I wanted to work with.

I continued to stamp in the black ink, stamping the "Forest So Green" sentiment and the "Creeping Vine".

At this stage, I decided I wanted a less solid background, so sprinkled some water droplets from a fan brush, which provided the lighter areas I was wanting.

I added some shimmer to the fairy wings, using a silver glitter Signo Pen.  I then added some fairy sparkle using the "Holographic Moon Dust" in the sky and around the creeping ivy.

Lavinia Stamps February 2020 Hochanda TV Show Sample Preview - Set 3

On Friday 7th February at 12pm and 3pm Lavinia Stamps will be on Hochanda TV with a selection of stamps, inks and other stamping products demonstrated by Amanda Branston.

To make the circular background, I have used a 6" gelli plate with two shades of Colorbox Inks (Artichoke and Grape) brayered onto the plate.  Using a fan brush I have lightly splattered wet Brusho paint and also some water to get the mottled look.

I started by stamping the "Celestial Tree" in the background using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink. Then using the same ink and a torn piece of copy paper, I created the landscape beneath the trees.

I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink to stamp the "Forest So Green" sentiment, the "Large Fairy Chain" and the "Creeping Vine" around the bottom of the circle.

Using a white and orange coloured Posca Pen, I added the flowers to the grass in the foreground.  I also added some gold shimmer to the dancing fairies using a Sakura Gel Pen.  I also added a light dusting of "Holographic Moon Dust" glitter.

Lavinia Stamps Monthly Challenge make for September 2019 - If you go down to the woods

Every month, Lavinia Stamps have a monthly challenge.  The theme for the September 2019 challenge is "If you go down to the woods".

If you enter the challenge and your name is randomly drawn, you will win £40 of vouchers to spend on lovely Lavinia goodies.

I started by blending three Distress Oxides Inks:  Twisted Citron, Old Paper and Shabby Shutters randomly, deliberately leaving some areas lighter to add a little contrast.

I positioned a Sweet Poppy Stencil (SP6-109) Faux Dragon Leather Backplate using low tack masking tape and used a further two Distress Oxides in the shades of Bundled Sage and Peeled Paint.

Once the stencil was removed I filled the central area with darker shades of Distress Inks - Crushed Olive and Mowed Lawn.

I then stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Green Man" in Versafine Clair "Acorn" Shade of ink.  The little leaves are also part of the "Green Man" stamp set and they are stamped in Versafine Clair "Chianti' shade of ink.  I used the same ink to stamp the sentiment "the forest so green" which is part of a larger Lavinia sentiment called "Forest So Green".

Using a blending tool, I inked around the edge of the card using the "Forest Moss" shade of Distress Oxide ink.  At this stage, I decided the card was too large, so cut it down a little so there was less border to fill.

Using the branches of the "Green Man" stamp, I multiple stamped them around the edge of the card to create a border using the Versafine Clair "Acorn" ink.

I then used two Lavinia Stamps from their "Pound Section", the "Mini Berries" were stamped in Versafine Clair "Chianti" and the "Mini Holly" was stamped in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" ink.

Finally, I inked the edges using the "Chianti" ink.  I added some gold lines to add interest to the face using a metallic pen.  I used a white Signo pen to the eyes and to highlight areas of the berries.  I used a red Arteza Brush Ben to colour the holly berries.

Lavinia Stamps Moonlight Dance Card

This evening I have been playing with Lavinia Stamps, creating a card for their monthly challenge.  The prompt for the November challenge is "While you were sleeping".

I've used various shades of Distress Inks for the background.  I've used the following Lavinia Stamps:  Fairy Chain, Forest So Green and Single Skeleton Tree, all stamped in Versafine Ink.

As a finishing touch, I added a few sequins, Perfect Pearls and a little shimmer using a Sakura Jelly Roll pen.
