Week 52 of the 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

If you are still with me up to now, you'll be releieved to know this is the final prompt of 2019.  It has been another fabulous year and you need to pat yourself on the back for all the fabulous tags you have made over tha past weeks.

The final prompt is "Celebrate the end"

For my tag, I used black card stock and a Funky Fossil "Circle Burst" stencil.  I used several different mediums through the stencil, including acrylic paint Sakura Gelly Roll Pens and Signo glitter pens.  I added gem stones, sequins and glitter too.

For the sentiment I used a Stampers Anonymous stamp heat embossed using Wow! clear embossing powder with their "Super Fine Metallic Silver embossing powder".

Week 51 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

Here we are, the penultimate prompt of the year! I have no idea where this year has gone to, it really has sped past.

Week 51 prompt is:  "Christmas Tree"

It's been a bit of a busy few days as I've been away, so I kept my tag pretty simple, opting for a snow forest scene with a snow storm.

I created the background, using a torn edge of paper and a Distress Oxide Ink in the pale blue (Tumbled Glass) shade and Versafine grey ink.

I coloured the sky with "Chipped Sapphire" Distress Oxide Ink and the moon with "Scattered Straw" Distress Oxide Ink.

Using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink, I stamped the trees (Designs by Ryn "Stylized Tree Set).

I then used white Gesso and a fan brush to splatter the tag to create the snowstorm.  There must have been a small amount of red ink in the brush as some of the splatters have a pink tinge, which I quite like.

Finally, I added a tiny bit of sparkle using a silver glitter Signo Pen too.

Week 50 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 50 is "Greenery".

For my tag, I've used a selection of Lavinia Stamps on a white card tag base.

I started by stamping the building/door way, which is a stamp called "Hide and Seek"  and the "Path" in Versafine "Smokey Gray" ink.  I then coloured the building with "Pumice Stone", the path with "Hickory Smoke", the ground either side of the path with "Tumbled Glass" and the door with "Walnut Stain" Distress Oxide Inks.

Next, I stamped the berry arch over the door, using both sections of the "Berry Wreath" in Versafine "Olympia Green" ink.  I coloured the berries with a mix of two Distress Oxide Inks:  Candied Apple and Aged Mahogany.

I then turned my attention to the foliage stamping the "Climbing Ivy" and the "Creeping Vine" in Versafine Clair "Rain Forest" green ink.

I decided to make the top of the tag more green, so I used the "Forest Moss" Distress Oxide Ink with a blending tool to add more colour.

Finally, I added some sparkle to the snowy area either side of the path by using some Lavinia "Holographic Moon Dust".

Week 49 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

It is Week 49 of "The 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019".  The theme for this week is "A Vintage Style Christmas".

For my tag, I started with a cream coloured tag, using two shades of Distress Oxide Inks, Tea Dye and Walnut Stain.

I used a Stampers Anonymous stamp set called "Mini Holidays 4 - CMS142' in Versafine Clair "Chianti" for the crackle background and the sentiment.  Using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" for the holly sprigs.

On separate card, I stamped the Crafty Individuals "Spring Time Background - CI-194" music sheet and the "Angel - CI211" in Versafine Clair "Chianti" ink, I aged the card by using the two brown Distress Inks I had used on the background.

After assembling the tag, I used the Lavinia Stamps "Moon Dust" which is a very fine two tone soft glitter to add some gentle sparkle to the tag

Week 48 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 48 is "Party Season".  With Christmas just around the corner, it is officially party season!

For my tag, I used inks on a brayer and sprinkled Brusho over to create the speckled background effect, at the same time I added Cosmic Shimmer "Rich Gold" Pixie Powder.  I also splattered some white Gesso across the tag.

Using various old stamps, I stamped the purple diamond pattern from top to bottom.  I used another stamp for the red dots.

Using Black Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink I stamped the party hat which is part of the Stampers Anonymous "Mini Blueprints 2 - CMS146".

Using the same ink, I stamped the word "invitation" which is part of a Rubbadubbadoo stamp set.  I then stamped the word "Celebrate".  I bought this stamp set second hand, so I have no idea who made it.

Finally, I inked the edges of the tag black.

Week 47 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 47 is "Bright".  My reasoning behind this prompt is that this week the weather has been so grey and grim, that I found myself wanting to create something with pretty, bright colours.

I started by using "Peacock Feathers" shade of Distress Oxide Ink through a Clarity Stamp Stencil called "Orbit".

Using Versafine Clair "Nocturn" black Ink, I stamped the Visible Image flowers and circle detail.  These stamps are part of their "Creative Chaos" clear stamp set.  I used some additional circles from another of their sets called "Shape It Up".

I stamped the flower heads again, this time on white card, which I painted with a pink shade of Distress Oxide Ink called "Picked Raspberry".  I then fussy cut the flower heads and adhered over the ones already on the tag.

Finally, I stamped the Always Cool words, using some magnetic word stamps by Rubbadubbadoo.  I added additional white cirles to the tag using a Signo Pen.

Week 45 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 45 is "Circles / Bokeh"

I decided to go with pastel coloured over-lapping circles for the background of my tag.  I used a Visible Image stamp set called "You are not alone" to stamp the three sizes of circles in Versafine "Stormy Gray" coloured ink.

I coloured the circles using my water colour pencils and a paint brush.  I used a yellow, green, blue, pink and purple colours.  On some of the circles, I have given them a glitter finish by using Stickles "Crystal", which gives a subtle beautiful shimmer.

Once the Stickles were dry, I moved on to stamping the dog.  I'm not sure who makes this stamp, but I do recall it cost about a pound.  I stamped the image across the tag using Versafine Clair "Purple Delight" shade of ink.  Using the same ink, I stamped the words.  I've had this set of word stamps for over ten years so I have no idea who made them, apologies for that.

Have a great week.

Week 44 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 44 is "Spooktastic"!

For my tag, I started by filling in a circle area as the moon using "Scattered Straw" Distress Oxide Inks.

I created a mask of the Zombie/Mummy shape and the moon and then coloured the background using several shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Carved Pumpkin, Wilted Violet, Peeled Paint and Black Soot

Removing the masks, I then used a low tack tape to hold the "Funky Fossil Creepy Characters Stencil" in position.  Through the stencil, I used the "Forest Moss" shade of Distress Oxide Inks.

I used a Faber-Castell Black Matt 8B pencil in a cross hatch way to cover the Mummy figure and also to create the ground that he stands on.

Using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" ink, I stamped the Stampin' Up tombstone, which is part of their "Spooky Fun" stamp set.  I also stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Bats".

Finally, using a Brother label maker, I printed off the "Spooktastic" label and adhered it at the base of the tag.

Week 43 - 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 43 of the challenge is "Emphemera"
, so this is a chance for you to use all those little odds and ends that you've been saving "just in case"!

I started by tearing a page out of an old Welsh hymn book and sticking it on to a tag base.  I then used  the "Aged Mahogany" Distress Oxide Ink to add a bit more colour to the tag.

I have a box of "bits and bobs" so selected a few pieces which I thought would work for this tag.

I tore some patterned paper and layered it onto some green and red check print paper.  I stamped a Crafty Individuals (CI-022) ticket onto an off-cut of card and then cut it out.

I layered the items up, adhering them to the tag as I went.  Finally, I added some dull gold sequins and a Tim Holtz sentiment across the top of the tag.

Week 42 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 42 is "Activity".

For my tag, I took inspiration from the old Cadbury's "Milk Tray" advert where there was always a James Bond, suited/silhouette type character delivering a box of chocolates to his special lady.

There was a lot of blending of colours to create the blue/green sea background, using Distress Oxide Inks in the following shades:  Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, Blue Print Sketch and Chipped Sapphire.

For the image, I used a Funky Fossil Designs stencil called "Surfer Stencil and Mask set".  For the wave area I used a Stampin' Up ink called "Whisper White".  For the surfer I used a Versafine Clair black ink called "Nocturne".

The white of the wave area looked a little solid, so I added dots to imitate spray using a white Posca Pen and a silver Signo Pen.  I added the Clarity word sentiment of "Never say never" to complete the tag.

Week 41 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 41 is "Glamour"

I'm a little earlier posting the prompt for Week 41 as I have a busy weekend ahead of me and I didn't want to over look posting the prompt and tag.  At least it gives you a few extra days to ponder on what you can create.

When I think of glamour, it is generally linked to a bygone era, so I have opted for a 1920's feel for my tag.

I started with a cream coloured tag and stamped a script across it in a Versafine Clair ink called "Golden Meadow", it is a shade of yellow bordering on green.

I lightly used a Distress Oxide called "Crushed Olive" over the top of the script and then used another called "Gathered Twigs" to go around the edges to give a more dated feel to the tag.

I dug out some old clear stamps I've had for more years than I care to remember, I think they are by Kanban.  One has three flapper type ladies with sentiments, another has perfume bottles with sentiments and the third has some 1920's style designs, all that I thought would suit the era I decided to depict on my tag.

Using a couple of the border stamps, I stamped a long edge and a corner in Versarine Clair "Nocturne" shade of black ink.  Using the same ink, I stamped the "Elegance" sentiment, which was part of the perfume bottle set of stamps.

I stamped the female figure using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist",  I coloured the hair, dress and shoes using a fine tip black marker.  I added a dot of red to the lips too.

Using a paint brush and the "Shaded Lilac" Distress oxide, I coloured in the womans coat.

Week 40 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 40 is "Favourite Colours".

Some of my favourite colours are greens and blues, add a little purple then it is spot on for me, hence the colours I have used on my tag.

For my tag, I used Dylusion Spray inks in London Blue and Fresh Lime.

I used a Distress Oxide Ink in the shade of Wilted Violet through a Funky Fossil stencil called "Circle Blast".

Across the surface of the tag I have adhered Cosmic Shimmer gilding flakes in shades of gold, silver and copper.

I've added dimension with dots of Liquid Pearls in the shades of White Opal and Blackberry.

Finally, I added a ClarityStamps word sticker to the base of the tag saying "Surround Yourself With Colour".

Week 39 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 39 is "Sorry".

For my tag, I masked off the moon and started with a background of Distress Oxide Inks to create the night sky in Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Blueprint Sketch.

After removing the moon mask, I filled the circle with Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink.

I created the landscape at the base of the tag, by using the torn edge of a piece of card and Distress Oxide Ink, dragging the ink along the torn edge.

Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, I stamped the "Spring Trees" by Lavinia Stamps.

Using the same ink, I stamped the word "Sorry" which is part of the Funky Fossil Designs "Pugs and Hugs" clear stamp set.

Using a Versafine ink called "Vintage Sepia", I stamped the image of the Pug dog on an off-cut of card, colouring it with Arteza Brush Pens and a black fine liner pen.  I cut out the shape of the dog and adhered onto the tag.  I added highlight edges to the dog image using a white Signo Pen.  I coloured the eyes black and then covered the eyes with Glossy Accents so that they appear more realistic.

Finally, I added some stars to the sky and some high lights to the trees using a white Signo Pen.

Week 38 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 32 is "Autumn Colours".

I started my tag by making the background using an assortment of Distress Oxide Ink, (Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Wild Honey, Tea Dye, Spiced Marmalade and Crushed Olive).

Using a fan brush, I splattered water droplets across the surface and then blotted them with a kitchen towel, this leaves a bleached look to the area where the water droplets have been.

Using a Stampin' Up set called "Gorgeous Grunge", I added foxing marks using a splatter stamp and a Versafine Ink called "Vintage Sepia".  Using the same ink, I stamped the "Autumn Verse" at the base of the tag, this is a stamp by Sweet Poppy.

Using a Versafine Clair ink called "Chianti", I stamped the Lavinia Stamps Vine around the top and the right hand edge.

I stamped the basket in a Versafine Clair ink called "Shady Lane".  The basket, the pumpkins in the basket and the acorns in the border are all part of a Papertrey Ink stamp set, I'm not sure what the set is called, but it is  the "Tag-its #7" set.

I stamped the pumpkins, I used coloured pencil to give them colour, cut them out and adhered them to look as if they are in the basket.

Week 37 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

I'm a little earlier posting my prompt and tag this week as I have a busy few days ahead.

The challenge prompt for Week 37 is "Faces".

For my tag, I decided on clean layers and something that looks simple.

I used the words "Perfectly Flawed" from a Visible Image stamp set called "Own It" stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist".  The darker is the usual colour, the lighter is when I have stamped using the ink that remained on the stamp, so it gives a nice tone to the words.

I used a Funky Fossil Designs Stencil called "The Look" for the face.  I used a low tack masking tape to hold the stencil in position over the background text on the tag.  I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink for the eye area, and a Distress Oxide Ink called "Candied Peel" for the lips - all applied with a blender tool.  I added a "Candied Peel inked edge to pull the eye in to the tag too.

Week 36 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 36 is "Meadow Life" - create your tag based on what you may see in a meadow.

I started my tag by swooshing a plain white tag through two shades of Distress Oxide Inks - Twisted Citron and Tumbled Glass.

I then used Distress Oxide Ink called "Peeled Paint", through a That's Crafty "Mini Fern Stencil".

I used an Inkylicious "Mini Splatter Circle" stamp with Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink t create the background behind the rabbit.

I then stamped the Aall & Create "Rabbit #224" using Brown Versafine Clair in an "Acorn" shade of ink over the splatter.  I then stamped the same image on an off-cut of plain white card.

I painted the colours on the rabbit image using Distress Oxide "Vintage Photo" and "Spun Sugar" shades of ink.  I then cut around the edges and adhered the image over the one stamped on the tag.  I coloured the flowers using Sakura Gelly Roll pens.

I stamped the Visible Image word "Tranquility", part of the "Random Art of Kindness" stamp set in Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze".  I used the same ink to colour the edges of the tag.

Finally using a small flower punch, I punch cut the flowers in various colours and adhered below the rabbit.  I added a little pattern to the flowers and also added some white dots to the circle splatter using a white Signo Pen.  Using a tiny daisy stamp, part of a Papertrey Ink stamp set, I added some red and yellow flowers to the background.

Week 35 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019 (Crafty Individuals CI-265)

The challenge prompt for Week 35 is "Birds".

For my tag, I started off with a gelli plate background I had prepared a few weeks ago, using Colorbox Inks brayered on to the gelli plate and then sprinkled with wet Brusho, which creates the mottled look.

Using a Crafter's Companion script stamp I stamped across the tag using Versafine "Smokey Gray" coloured ink.

On a separate piece of card in the same gelli-plate colours I stamped the Crafty Individuals CI-265 in Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" shade of ink.  I then cut the stamped image into three.  Using the same ink, I stamped the ferns, which are part of a Crafty Individuals set (CI-207).

The mini dragonflies are from the same set, but I stamped them in Versafine Clair "Twilight".  I also inked the edges of the tag in "Twilight" and the edges of the stamped bird images too.

I mixed some Distress Oxide ink (Brushed Corduroy and Wild Honey) with some water, then added some Brusho SprinkleIT.  I mixed them together, then using a fan brush splattered across the tag.  This gives a subtle coloured sparkly look.

Using double sided sticky tape, I adhered the bird sections onto the tag.  I gave the birds some additional colour by painting Distress Oxide in shades of "Brushed Corduroy", adding white around the eyes and highlight areas using a white Signo pen.

52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019 - Update

I've just been tidying away my tags and realised I'd over looked sharing a photo of the tags I've made for Week 25 to 32.

Week 34 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 34 is "Citrus".

For my tag, I decided to go for a really clean, fresh look by leaving the background plain white.

I used a stamp that came free with a recent issue of Craft Stamper Magazine.  Multiple stamping the image to cover the tag.

I used various shades of Distress Oxide Inks in the colours of:  Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon, Dried Marigold, and Mustard Seed. I stamped the little leaves (the stamp came from a Stampin' Up set) using the "Mowed Lawn" Distress Oxide Ink.  I infilled the fruit slices by painting a dilution of the same colours used for the rind.

I typed and printed off the "Live your life with..." sentiment, then cut it down and adhered across the tag.  I then die cut some small letters in black card to spell the letters "Zest", which were then adhered below the printed sentiment.  Finally, I used some small plastic dome like embellishments to replicate juice on the fruid slices.

Week 33 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 33 is "Numbers"

For my tag, I decided to go for a really clean look, only using black and white.

I used a Cuttlebug number embossing folder for the central panel, then printed the "...age is just a number" sentiment on the computer and adhered to the base of the tag.  I used a Stamper's Anonymous stamp for the edge detail.

I then die cut the two black numbers and used foam pads to give a 3D look to the numbers.  Finally, I ran a black ink pad around the edge of the tag.
