52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2024 - Week 6

The challenge for 2024 is weekly.  I will provide you with a prompt/theme each Sunday morning through out the year.  The challenge is very relaxed.  You can do as much or as little as you like.  You can create cards, tags, Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) or index cards, the choice is yours. You just go with what ever is in your head at the time.  You can stamp, get inky, use patterned papers, texture, embellish it is all down to you.

There is a dedicated private Facebook Group, with a lovely bunch of people who are already sharing their makes from previous challenges.  You can find the group by clicking this link.  I'd love you to join in.

The Crafting Niche 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2024:

The prompt for Week 6 is "Skeleteon Trees or Leaves"

*****

This is my Week 6 tag, working to the prompt of "Skeleton Trees or Leaves".

For the base, I used a white tag.  I coloured the whol tag with "Sundance" Elements inks.  I then positioned a moon mask where I wanted the moon to be, as I knew I would forget it when I got to the darker colours.

Next, I used "Russet Orange" Elements Inks, leaving a section of yellow but covering the rest with the orange.

I moved on to "Emporer Red" Elements Inks, again leaving some of the yellow and orange before covering the rest of the tag.

Finally, I used the "Merlot" Elements inks, for the dark sky around and above the moon area.  I gave the tag a blast with my heat gun before creating a white halo around the moon using a white Pan Pastel.  I added some mottled areas to the moon itself, by using a finger dabber with "Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

I then moved on to the stamping.  I used the Visible Image "Into the woods" stamp set with two shades of Versafine Clair Inks:  Nocturne and Morning Mist.

Finally, I mounted the tag on to black card and added a few stars in the sky, using a white gel pen.

Visible Image "Into the woods" challenge card

I'm picking up on Eileen Godwin's challenges.  Today has a theme of "Rainbow Colours".

I used two shades of Versafine Clair inks:  "Morning Mist" grey ink and "Nocturne" black ink to stamp the Visible Image "Into The Woods" stamp set.

For the sky, I used five shades of Elements Inks, applied with a paint brush:  Sundance, Russet Orange, Confetti, Mulberry and Violet Chalk.

Visible Image "Leave Your Fears Behind" card

I've had a play with two Visible Image stamp sets today, "Leave your fears behind" and "Into the woods.  All the stamping is in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink and I have stamped on a Brusho background with highlights using Posca Pens.

Visible Image - Into The Woods Birthday Card

I've played with an older Visible Image stamp set today to create this card.

Some months ago, I had a messy session with some Dylusion Ink Sprays creating some stunning backgrounds.  This is one of them, which I felt was an ideal marriage with the Visible Image "Into The Woods" stamp set.

I stamped the tree scene and owl using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink.

I created the stars in the sky by using a fan brush with some white Gesso and tapping the brush lightly to gain the look of stars in the sky.

I heat embossed the "My Favourite Things" sentiment, which is part of their "Essential Sentiments" set, using Wow! Embossing pad and Wow! Super fine Metallic Silver embossing powder.

Week 14 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 14 is "Splodge, Splash and Splatter".

This prompt takes me totally out of my comfort zone, I tend to do more constructed rather than informal crafting.

I took three shades of acrylic paint, added a dob of each to the tag and smeared it  across the surface and left to dry. Using a gold coloured Brusho SprinkleIt (with water), I brushed some of the areas to give it a quiet sparkle.

I then splashed white Gesso across the surface of the acrylic paint with a fan paint brush.  Once this was dry, I added spots of three shades of Liquid pearls.

Finally, using a Versafine Clair ink pad called "Charming Pink" I stamped the words which are from a Visible Image stamp set called "Into The Woods".

There is also a Facebook Group for this challenge, where members can upload thier images to weekly prompt albums and chat to other members.  It is a very informal group, you do as much or as little as you like.  I hope you will pop over and say hello.  The more the merrier.  Sam x
