Lavinia Stamps "Tree of Dreams" on a Brusho background

Today, in total contrast to the black and white card I made yesterday, I have used a background from my stash with a whole rainbow of colours courtesy of Brushos.

I used the Lavinia Stamps "Tree of dreams" stamp as the main focal point, stamped in Versafine Clair 'Nocturne" black ink.  While the ink was out, I stamped the sentiment "Once upon a dream" in the same ink.

I added a landscape and then foliage using "Purple Delight" and "Monarch" Versafine Clair Inks.  I used the following Lavinia Stamps fro the foliage area:

  • Berry Leaves
  • Spanish Moss
  • Foliage Set
  • Silhouette Grass
I added highlights of colour using Posca Pens, Gel Pens, Pastel Pencils and Liquid Pearls

Lavinia Stamps - Small Hare Set, once upon a dream

I realised today that it seems ages since I pulled out my Lavinia Stamps to have a play.  To be honest it felt a bit odd, almost like I didn't know what to do with them.  I've not felt like that for a very long time.  Never-the-less, I got stuck in and made this card, using a little story I had in my head making this card.

"Once upon a dream, there was a giant coloured feather tree, that stood tall and proud, looking across the Kingdom of Hare"!

I coloured the background using "Peacock Feathers" and "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide Inks.

I stamped the Lavinia Feather in an assortment of Versafine Clair ink colours (Medieval Blue, Charming Pink, Fantasia and Summertime).

I created the landscape by dragging ink over the torn edge of a piece of copy paper and then stamped the hares, which are part of the Small Hare Set.

I then stamped the sentiment and the Fairy Bells on the right hand side.

I added some highlights and colour with Posca Pens.

Lavinia Stamps - Once Upon A Dream through the Willow Arch

Today I have played with my Lavinia Stamps, deciding to use a couple of stamps I've not used very often.

I used a gelli plate background I'd made a while back for the base and stamped the "Willow Arch" and the "Twisted Willow" to create an archway stamped in Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink.  I coloured it in with shades of brown Distress Oxide Inks and then stamped "Sacred Spells" script.

I used the Funky Fossil "Brick Wall" stencil with "Forest Moss" Distress Oxide Ink to create the look of a wall around the arch.

I stamped the "Stargazing" couple using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink.  I multi stamped the "Twisted Vine Set" in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.

Using Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple ink I stamped the "Fairy Barnacles" to create flowers growing up the wall like a cottage garden. I coloured the flowers with a mix of Oxide Inks and Signo pens, I also added some highlights to the card using a white Signo pen.

Finally, I stamped the "Once upon a dream" sentiment using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink.

Lavinia Stamps have started a new Wellbeing group called "Reach out for Lavinia" so I have added this to their new group.

Lavinia Stamps - New Stamp Release Sample Preview (January 2020) - Aria

Lavinia Stamps have some fabulous new stamps that will be released on their site on Monday 27th January 202.  I have been fortunate to have a play with them to create some promotional samples.

I've used "Aria" the kneeling fairy, her hands are held out waiting to hold something.  I've used an existing Lavinia stamp called "bubbles" to replicate a crystal ball.

In each corner I have stamped another new design called "Mystic Swirl".  The sentiment is in the existing collection and is called "Once Upon a Dream" all stamping is in Versafine Clair "Chianti" on a gelliplate background.

I started by stamping the figure "Zemira" and the wolf "Maka" using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist grey coloured ink.

Using the torn edge of a piece of copy paper, I created the landscape using two shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Tumbled Glass and Weathered Wood.

I stamped the Lavinia Small Fairy Fir Tree and the Small Fairy Fir Tree 2 stamped in Distress Oxide "Weathered Wood" along the landscape lines.

Using Distress Oxide inks, I created the sky colour.  First using Distress Oxide ink "Milled Lavender" and then "Stormy Sky", edging the card with Distress Oxide Ink "Black Soot"

I then stamped the Lavinia "Tree Scene", "Birds" and the "Once Upon A Dream" sentiment in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" ink.

Using the Distress Oxide Ink "Milled Lavender" I stamped the "Lunar Buds".

I stamped the Lavinia "Snowflakes" using a Memento ink called "London Fog".  I added some clear gems to the landscape and white highlights and dots of snow using a Signo Pen.

Lavinia Stamps Design Team Sample August 2019 for Hochanda TV - Rory and Darcy

On 22nd August 2019, Lavinia Stamps will be featured on Hochanda TV, highlighting some of their fabulous stamp designs.  This is a Design Team sample I have made for the show.

I used a circle gelli plate with brayered Colorbox (mustard) Ink on to the plate and splashed Brusho Paint (Sand Stone colour) with a fan brush on top of the brayered surface, then printed the image onto card.

Using a circle mask, I created the moon by inking the edges using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" ink.

I stamped the "Tree of Faith" using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  Using the same ink, I stamped the "Birds".

I used the torn edge of cardstock, repostioned several time to create the landscape using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist".

Next, I stamped "Rory and Darcy" and the sentiment "Once Upon A Dream" in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Finally, using a Sakura Gelly Roll pen, I highlighted the gelli plate edge and the moon in gold.

Lavinia Stamps August 2019 Monthly Challenge - Create Your Own Dream

It is the first of the month, so time for the new Lavinia Stamps Monthly challenge, which has a theme of "Create Your Own Dreams".

If you enter the challenge, your name could be randomly drawn and you could win £40 of vouchers to spend on lovely Lavinia goodies.

This is one of my Design Team samples for this theme.  I have used a round gelli plate with a Colorbox Ink in a shade called "Dandelion" brayered onto the plate, with diluted Brusho sprinkled onto the surface with a fan brush to create the speckled background.

Once the background was dry, I stamped the fairy, called "Tree Goddess Luna" in  Versafine Clair "Norcturne" shade of ink.  I also stamped the sentiment called "Once Upon A Dream" on a separate piece of card with the same colours.  I then cut the sentiment up into words.

In black card, I die cut a circle in the middle of the card.  I then added some glue to the underside and positioned the aperture over the stamped image and pressed down to help the glue to adhere.  I then added the stamped words across the card.

I stamped the fairy wings, using a black StazOn ink on to some vellum and cut around them.  I then carefully stuck them to the back of the fairy.

Finally, using a Sakura Gelly Roll Pen and a Signo glitter pen I added some subtle sparkle to various areas of the image to create a shimmer/fairy look to the card.

Lavinia Stamps May 2019 Monthly Challenge (sample 1)

Every month, Lavinia Stamps has a monthly challenge where those who enter have a chance to win £40 of vouchers to spend on their site.  As part of the Design Team, we are asked to create three samples based on the challenge theme.  This is the first of the my three samples.

The theme for the May challenge is "Make It Bright".

I have had the stamp "Zen Leaf 2" for some time and maybe only used it once or twice, so I decided to challenge myself  to use it in an alternative way.  I decided to use Versafine Clair "Charming Pink" ink and multi stamp the image in a fan shape.

In Versafine Clair "Purple Delight" ink I stamped the "Floral Spray" in the bottom right hand corner to pull the leaves into a fan shape.

I then decided to colour the image in using Promarker Pens in: Tulip Yellow, Pink Carnation, Orchid and Amethyst shades of ink.

I stamped the "Once Upon A Dream" sentiment and the "Fairy Foragers" in Versafine Clair "Purple Delight" shade of ink.  Finally, I added areas of glittery sparkle on the floral fan and the fairies by using Signo Silver, Violet and Blue glitter pens.
