Lavinia Stamps "Tree Goddess Luna" Card

Sometimes things happen in life which make you adjust your course of action.  The same things apply to my crafting.  This is a "rescue project".

I had just finished my stamping of the card and was putting the ink pad away, when
it slipped from my hand landing ink pad down on the card I had nearly completed!  Obviously there were a few "choice words" as I mopped up the inky mess on my desk ,where the pad had bounced across my desk, finally resting on my card!

I decided to cut off the main inky section and add a little extra foliage stamping to cover the remaining inky area.  In the end it worked out ok, but not what was in my head originally.

Incidentally, this is the process of making the card before the mishap:

I used "Bundled Sage" then "Mowed Lawn" and finally "Rustic Wilderness" Distress Oxide inks through the Lavinia Stamps "Laurel" stencil for the background.

Using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink, I stamped the Lavinia "Wild Vines" in first and second generation stamping to provide depth.

I then stamped Lavinia "Tree Goddess Luna" in Versafine Clair 'Nocturne" black ink.  Using the same ink, I added more stamping of the "Wild Vines".  I lightly inked the edges of the card.

I added touches of sparkle using a silver Signo glitter pen and a subtle shimmer using a Sakura gelly roll pen.

Lavinia Stamps August 2019 Monthly Challenge - Create Your Own Dream

It is the first of the month, so time for the new Lavinia Stamps Monthly challenge, which has a theme of "Create Your Own Dreams".

If you enter the challenge, your name could be randomly drawn and you could win £40 of vouchers to spend on lovely Lavinia goodies.

This is one of my Design Team samples for this theme.  I have used a round gelli plate with a Colorbox Ink in a shade called "Dandelion" brayered onto the plate, with diluted Brusho sprinkled onto the surface with a fan brush to create the speckled background.

Once the background was dry, I stamped the fairy, called "Tree Goddess Luna" in  Versafine Clair "Norcturne" shade of ink.  I also stamped the sentiment called "Once Upon A Dream" on a separate piece of card with the same colours.  I then cut the sentiment up into words.

In black card, I die cut a circle in the middle of the card.  I then added some glue to the underside and positioned the aperture over the stamped image and pressed down to help the glue to adhere.  I then added the stamped words across the card.

I stamped the fairy wings, using a black StazOn ink on to some vellum and cut around them.  I then carefully stuck them to the back of the fairy.

Finally, using a Sakura Gelly Roll Pen and a Signo glitter pen I added some subtle sparkle to various areas of the image to create a shimmer/fairy look to the card.

Lavinia Stamps "Tree Goddess Luna" Dream Card

I love this "Tree Goddess Luna" stamp by Lavinia Stamps, so decided to use her again, even though it's only a couple of days since I last stamped her.  This card is actually very sparkly, but unfortunately the camera just doesn't pick it up.

I used one of the backgrounds I made the other day, when I was experimenting using a stencil to print with.  The image above is the background before I started stamping.  I produced the pattern by using a Funky Fossil Stencil called "Petal Burst".  For this background I experimented with Distress Inks, which I found didn't work as well as the Oxides did for the same process.

Back to the image.  I started by stamping the Lavinia Stamps "Sacred Spells" script stamp in Versafine "Stormy Gray" ink.

Using the "Dream" stamp from the Lavinia Stamps "Inspire Me" set of word stamps, I stamped the word in Versafine Clair "Purple Delight" ink.  Using the same ink, I stamped the "Tree Goddess Luna" image.

I needed to draw the eye in to the image, so went around the edge with a blending tool and a Distress Oxide Ink called "Broken China".

Finally, I added some sparkle by using a silver glitter Signo Pen and a Sakura Gelly Roll pen to add some shimmer to the wings of Luna.  I added a sprinkling of Nuvo "Diamond" sequins to the background too.

Lavinia Stamps "Tree Goddess Luna" on a Funky Fossil Stencilled Background

While the Funky Fossil "Enchanted Fan" stencil was on my desk, I decided to use it to make a card using a Lavinia Stamp.

I used a Distress Oxide Ink in the shade of "Peacock Feathers" through a Funky Fossil stencil called "Elegant Fans" to create the background pattern.

Using Versafine Clair Ink in the shade of "Twilight" I stamped the Lavinia Stamp "Tree Goddess Luna" and the "Dream" word, which is part of the "Inspire Me Set" of word stamps by Lavinia Stamps.

Finally, I used a Uniball Signo Pen to add silver glitter highlights to the fairy and tree.
