Forget Me Not "Flamingo" Birthday Card
Today I have played with another stamp by The Forget Me Not Kraft Kabin, using their Flamingo stamp set.
I used my stamping platform and stamped the flamingo image in a Colorbox ink in a coral colour. Then coloured an area of the beak in black. Leaving the image and the stamp in the same position on the platform.
I cleaned the stamp and then coated it, using a Wow! Clear Embossing ink pad and stamped over the image already on the card. I removed the card from the platform and applied a generous amount of clear embossing powder and heat set. This gives a nice raised look, which is ideal when using a water colour type wash for the background as it is less likely to leak into areas where you don't want it to be.
Using my Prima Water Colour Confections paint set, I coloured the flamingo in coral/pink shades.
I then painted the wash background using Distress Oxide Inks. I used Tumbled Glass, Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean with water to create the pale wash backgorund.
Once the background was dry, I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment (which was in the same set as the flamingo) using Versafine "Stormy Grey" ink.
