Karen Telfer's "12 Days of Christmas Tags 2024" - Day 9

On the run up to each Christmas, I usually take part in Karen Telfer's Christmas Tag challenge.  Because we were living in the caravan and I didn't have my craft supplies, I wasn't able to take part in 2024.  Now my craft room is set up, I thought I had better get cracking on the tags.  For 2024, Karen was doing 12 tags rather than 24 as she had a busy work schedule.

This is my Day 9 Tag (You can watch Karen's tutorial here).

I used a Penny Black cling stamp for the robin and holly.  The stamp is called "Cheerful Christmas 40-642), stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink on to the tag and also on to a piece of white card.

On the tag I used two circle masks to add three rings of colour in the background, using Bundled Sage, Festive Berries and Shabby Shutters Distress Oxide Ink.  I also made splatters in these colours along with some gold paint splatters too.

I coloured both robin & holly images with Derwent Inktense Pencils applied with a paint brush.  The one on the white card, I partially fussy cut the image, used foam pads on the reverse of the image and stuck it on to the tag.

I added Ranger Glossy Accents to the berries to give them more of a 3D appearance.

52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2024 - Week 35

The Crafting Niche 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2024:

This is a weekly challenge. I provide you with a prompt/theme each Sunday morning through out the year.  The challenge is very relaxed.  You can do as much or as little as you like.  You can create cards, tags, Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) or index cards, the choice is yours. You just go with what ever is in your head at the time.  You can stamp, get inky, use patterned papers, texture, embellish it is all down to you.

There is a dedicated private Facebook Group, with a lovely bunch of people who are already sharing their makes from previous challenges.  You can find the group by clicking this link.  I'd love you to join in.

The prompt for Week 35 is "Underwater"

***

For my Week 35 - "Underwater", I started with a white tag, I added stripes of diferent Washi Tape till the surface was covered.  I then popped it in a Crafters Companion embossing folder with a water/wave design, sorry I have no idea of the name of the folder.

Over the ridges of the waves, I rubbed Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" turquoise coloured ink pad, which created a textured background.

Then on white card, I stamped the fish.  I used Versafine Clair "Chariming Pink" ink on the Lavinia stamps fish called "Arlo".  I used Versafine Clair "Summertime" orange ink for the Lavinia Stamps fish called "Flo" and for one of the fish in their "Fish Set".

I fussy cut the fish, adding Posca Pen and a "Wink of Stella" to give a lovely gold shimmer. I used wet glue to fix them on to the tag, but put a foam pad behind the tail of the pink fish to make it appear more 3D.

On a piece of white card, I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink to stamp the "Deeper than the oceans" sentiment by Lavinia Stamps.  Once dry, I cut the sentiment up in to separate words.  Adding a rough black outline around each word using a black Fine Line pen, then stuck into position.

Finally, I added pearls, sequins, clear beads and touches of Range "Glossy Accents" to add extra detail and sparkle to the surface of the tag.

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge - Day 34

It's Day 34 of the Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge.  This week is all about texture. My raindrops are coated in "Glossy Accents" to give a wet look.

For my piece, I used Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink with the Designs By Ryn "Waterdroplets CM-T3" rubber cling stamp.

Around the droplets, I used diluted "Lost Shadow" Distress Oxide Ink, applied with a paint brush.

For the actual droplets, I painted "Tumbled Glass "Distress Oxide Ink" so diluted with water that there was barely any colour.

Once dry, I mounted the painted piece on to grey and then white card. Finally, I applied Ranger "Glossy Accents" to the droplets to give a wet look/3D look to them.

Sweet Poppy Stencils "Snowberries" Card

Here's a simple Christmas card made using a couple of Sweet Poppy stamps and a stencil.

I stamped the Sweet Poppy Stencils "Snowberries" stamp, part of their "Botanicals" collection in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.  I then coloured the image using Derwent Inktense pencils, using the colours:  Spring Green, Apple Green, Light Olive, Lanium Green and Storm Dust.  I added extra shading using a 2B pencil too.

I then used "Shadow Grey" Ranger Archival ink through the Sweet Poppy "Plaid Back Plate" stencil. Shading the colour out towards the left and the top of the card.

Finally, I added a stamped greeting, using one of the "Festive Phrases" sentiment, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink. I then added Ranger "Glossy Accents" to the berries and set aside to dry.

Stampers Amonymous "Entomology" Lady Bird Card

I've felt a little different about my crafting since my return from holiday.  Nothing I can really put my finger on, but I know I'm not where I usually am with my crafting, so to address this, I have gone back to basics with this CAS card.

I started by using the Gummiapan "Trellis" (D210628) die to cut a white trellis, which I mounted on to a white card blank with a wet glue.

Below the trellis, I stamped a Simon Says Stamp sentiment "Just For You" which is part of their "Tiny Words" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Using "Nocturne" again, I stamped the ladybird from the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous cling stamp set called "Enomolog" CMS328 on to a piece of white card.  I then used a Derwent Inktense pencil to colour the ladybird, using a paint brush.  I used the matching Sizzix Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous die set (663068), to die cut the ladybird.  I went around the edges of the die cut with a black Sharpie pen, before sticking over the trellis.

Finally, I added some black dots of Ranger "Enamel Accents" and I covered the ladybird with Ranger "Glossy Accents" and set aside to dry... which takes ages!

Lavinia Stamps "Winter Berries" Tag

Sorry, I know, I've been missing in action for a long time.  I've been away on a canal boat with Hubby and Rosie the dog.  We had a lovely relaxing time, pootling along at a maximum four miles per hour.  We got home yesterday and I am ploughing my way through the mountain of dirty washing.  Four loads done and a few more to go yet.

Normally, when I am away I am itching to get back to my craft desk, but it felt different this time.  it felt very much take it or leave it.  Obviously, that didn't last long as I got up at silly 'o clock (the gusting wind outside woke me) and decided to craft. It felt good to be at my desk, but I also felt a bit rusty too, which I feel is reflected in this tag a bit.

I used a piece of white card, cut into a tag shape.  Masking off the lower (snow section) of the tag with a piece of copy paper, I coloured the sky area using Distress Oxide "Blueprint Sketch" ink.  I then used a fan shaped paint brush with water to created splatters over the inked area, blotting it, which created the mottled sky. I removed the mask and set aside to dry.

With ink left on my blue blending brush, I created the snow landscape, using thie Lavinia Stamps "Hill Mask". I then used white acylic paint to splatter the white dots over the sky area to create the look of snowflakes.

I used Versafine Clair "Rain Forest" green ink to stamp the Lavinia Stamps "Fir Branch" in first and second generation stamping.

Next, I used Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink to stamp sections of the Lavinia Stamps "Small Branch" stamp.

I stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Winter Berries" and "Mini Winter Berry" in Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink.

I moved on to colouring the berries, using both orange and red Posca Pens and a white gel pen.  I used a silver Signo glitter pen to add a bit of sparkle to the tag, and edged the white area with"Blueprint Sketch" Distress Oxide Ink.  I used a white gel pen to add lines of white above the branches along with touches of Ranger "Enamel Accents".

I mounted the tag on to a piece of dark green card, which I thought complimented the colour of the branches.  Finally adding Ranger "Glossy Accents" to some of the berries to make them appear to be 3D.

Clarity Stamps "Seedheads & Foliage" Thank You Card

As soon as I saw the Clarity Stamps 4x4" Seedheads & Foliage stencil set on the Clarity web site, I knew I had to get it ordered.  My order arrived this afternoon, so I obviously had to have a play session!

I decided to use the leaf stencil, positioned in the middle of a small piece of white card, measuring approximately three and a half inches square.

I used three shades of green Archival Inks through the stencil, starting with the lightest shade which was "Prickly Pear".  Then on to "Leaf Green" and finally "Fern Green" around the outer edge of the leaf.

I removed the leaf stencil and then positioned the square aperture stencil that also came in the "Seedheads & Foliage" stencil set and drew around the inner edge of the square with a fine tip black pen to create a frame.  I then added three dots to each edge of the inner square.

I mounted the white card on to a piece of Kraft card, then on to a white card blank.

Using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" a mid green coloured ink, I stamped the sentiment which is also by Clarity and is part of their "A6 Thank You Occasions Sentiment Stamp Set".  Finally, I added three dots of Ranger "Glossy Accents" to the leaf to replicate rain drops.
