Lavinia Stamps "Horse & Foal" Birthday Card

It seems like ages since I last used my Lavinia Stamps, but as I needed to make a card for a horse mad young lady, the "Horse & Foal" stamp seemed ideal for the focus of the birthday card.

I used the Sweet Poppy "Circle Aperture" stencil for the central round area.  Using "Sky Blue" Archival Ink with a blending brush to create a very subtle background.  I then lay the Lavinia Stamps "Feather Leaf Stencil" over the top and used the same ink and brush to provide a quiet background pattern.

I was in two minds to keep all the stamping within the circle or let some of it "off the edge".  I decided on the latter.

I stamped the large tree, the Lavinia Stamps "Elm" Tree in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, allowing the branches to extend past the circle edge.  Using the same ink, I stamped the Lavinia "Horse & Foal".

Using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink, I created the landscape using a finger dabber to apply the ink over the torn edge of copy paper.

Using the same ink and the Lavinia Stamps "Small Trees", I stamped the tree images so they looked like they were in the distance.

I used a black pastel pencil to create the impression of shadows from the legs of the horse and foal.  I then used a black fine line pen to give the impression of grass in the foreground.

Finally, I stamped the "Happy Birthday" using the Lawn Fawn "Simply Sentiments" stamp set.

Lavinia Stamps "Tree of Hope" with "Horse & Foal" Card

I have continued to play with my Lavinia Stamps, making this card, using one of my oldest and one of the most recent "Lavinia Stamps".

For the base, I used a gel plate background I created some months ago using Colorbox Inks and diluted Brusho paint.  I enhanced the background to create a landscape using Pan Pastels.

I used the "Tree Of Hope" stamp which was released by Lavinia a couple of weeks back and one of my older Lavinia Stamps the "Horse and Foal" stamp.  All stamping was in various shades of Versafine Clair inks.  I also used Posca Paint pens and a pencil too

Lavinia Stamps July 2019 Monthly Challenge (Sample #1)

Every month Lavinia Stamps have a monthly challenge, where the winning name drawn will receive £40 of vouchers to spend on lovely Lavinia goodies.

This is a card I have made as part of the Lavinia Stamps Design Team to promote the July challenge with a theme of "Midnight Blue With An Orange Hue".

I created the coloured background by using Dylusion spray inks in the shades of: London Blue, Crushed Grape and Fresh Lime.

Once the background colours were dry, I started stamping the image.  First I stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Spring Trees" in Versafine "Stormy Grey" shade of ink.

I then stamps the "Horse and Foal" image in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" shade of ink.

I created the landscape, by tearing a piece of card into a landscape shape and rubbing Distress Inks across the surface.

I then cut the card down to the size I wanted, added the moon using Memento Luxe "Wedding Dress" shade of ink.  I added the stars using a white Posca pen.

Finally, I stamped the "Mini Slender Mushrooms" also in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink and then added white highlights to them and the back of the horses by using a white Signo Pen.
