Funky Fossil "Happy Hour" Stencil Cocktails Card

Here's a card I made for a friend who likes her tipples!  I used the Funky Fossil "Happy Hour" Stencil with Distress Oxide Inks to create the glasses of cocktails.

I've used a Hero Arts stamp for the sentiment, from their CL340 Clear Sayings set. stamped in Versafine Clair "Chianti" ink.

Hero Arts "Garden Ornaments" and "Polka Dot Vase Bouquet" Card

I made a quick card this evening using a couple of Hero Art Stamps.

I used one of the four Hero Arts "Garden Ornaments" stamps for the urn, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

The flowers are the upper part of the Hero Arts "Polka Dot Vase Bouquet" stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

I used a selection of Distress Oxide Inks to colour the stamped images.

Week 32 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 32 is "Weave & Stitch".

I started with a yellow base of cardstock for my tag.  I then used some off-cuts of patterned paper and cut it in half inch strips.

I used some sticky tape to stick the top of the vertical strips into position, trimming the ends to points.  I then threaded the horizontal papers and secured to the tag.

Using Versafine Clair Ink in the shade of "Twilight" I stamped the stitched edge at the base of the tag, the pins and the sentiment.  Using Versafine Inks, I stamped the Hero Arts cotton reals (Golden Meadow, Purple Delight and Twilight).

Finally I added some very small buttons and some drops of Liquid Pearls to the pin heads.

Tree With Ornaments (Hero Arts) Christmas Card

For more years that I care to remember I have made Christmas cards using the Hero Arts "Tree With Ornaments" stamp.  It has to be my most used stamp and the results never disappoint.

The image is stamped in Versafine "Smokey Grey' and painted using water colour pencils.  The sentiment is from a Hobby Art Ltd set (CS010D).

Finally, I added some twinkly gold shimmer using a Sakura Jelly Roll Pen.

Hero Arts Pine Cone Christmas Card

There are some stamps in my stamp stash that I have had for years and rarely tire of.  This Pine Cone stamp - F31690 by Hero Arts is one of those.

Although I've had it for ages, I have not used it very often.  I fell in love with the image, but wasn't really sure how I could use it to get the different colours.  Scroll on more years than I care to remember and I now know how to achieve the look I was after!

The stamp is wood mounted, to achieve the look I was after, I removed it from the wooden block so that I could use it in my Misti.  I used Distress Ink Pens to colour and then stamp the actual image.  I then coated the stamp in Versamark and stamped the clear coat on top of the coloured image, sprinkled with clear embossing powder and then heated till set.

I used a moist brush and water colour pencils to colour the background of the cone and the actual pale blue background.  I then stamped the sentiment, which is part of a Papertrey Ink set. Finally using a fan shaped paint brush and white Gesso, I tapped some dots onto the surface to replicate snowflakes.  I also added a few frosty shimmer areas to the cone using a Sakura Gelly Roll pen.

Woman Of Spirit Tag

I've had a lovely day out today, having a long over due catch up with a friend who is also a crafter.  The obvious choice to meet was somewhere that sells craft stash and cake - we indulged in both!

This evening I've been faffing with a tag.  It has the usual Tim Holtz Distress Ink background.  This time in pinks and coral shades.  The central heart area is a Hero Arts Stamp called "Spirit Heart - E3391).  The rest of the tag is made up of stamps that I've had in my stash for years and have no idea who made them.  I've also used an off-cut of a Memorybox honeycomb die cut too.

Christmas Card (Hero Arts stamp "Tree With Ornaments" K5257)

Well it is almost mid November, so definitely time that I start to think of making a few Christmas cards.

My Christmas stamps are tucked away in a cupboard, so it feels a bit like the excitement of bringing the Christmas decorations down from the attic when I start to delve into my Christmas stash.  Like the decorations, I tend to buy a new stamp(s) each year too, but I often return to one of my favourites.  In this case it is a wood mounted Hero Arts stamp called "Tree With Ornaments" (ref: K5257).  For me it just hits the spot, so is often used for the first card I make for the year.

I had a rubbish night of sleep again last night, so I was up at 3 am playing with stamps and paint brushes.  I started with embossing a background.  I used the Stampin' Up, "Softly Falling" embossing folder.

Using StazOn ink, I stamped the tree image onto plain white card.  I coloured the image using my water colour pencils with a brush.  Once dry, I added some snowflakes using a white Signo pen.  I mounted the image onto green card then added it to the top of the embossing.  At the bottom right hand corner, I stamped the sentiment using a stamp from the Papertrey Ink set called "Winter Hills".
