Karen Telfer's "12 Days of Christmas Tags 2024" - Day 3

On the run up to each Christmas, I usually take part in Karen Telfer's Christmas Tag challenge.  Because we were living in the caravan and I didn't have my craft supplies, I wasn't able to take part in 2024.  Now my craft room is set up, I thought I had better get cracking on the tags.  For 2024, Karen was doing 12 tags rather than 24 as she had a busy work schedule.

This is my Day 3 Tag (You can watch Karen's tutorial here).

I didn't have the stamps or stencils Karen used for her tag, so I have improvised with what I have to make this tag.

I stamped the large flower stamp from the Funky Fossil Designs "Funky Florals" stamp set in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

I then used "Mowed Lawn" Distress Oxide Ink through two Funky Fossil stencils (Nordic Star Background Stencil and Micro Dots Stencil).

I painted the flowers using Distress Oxide Inks:  Lumberjack Plaid, Mustard Seed and Lucky Clover) shades of ink.  I also used a yellow and an orange Posca Pen.

Next, I added some colour around the edge of the tag, I used "Peeled Paint" Distress Oxide Ink.

Finally, I added a stamped sentiment.  I chose the word "Noel" which is part of the Funky Fossil Designs "Stripped Back Christmas Sentiment" stamp set.

52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2024 - Week 38

The Crafting Niche 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2024:

This is a weekly challenge. I provide you with a prompt/theme each Sunday morning through out the year.  The challenge is very relaxed.  You can do as much or as little as you like.  You can create cards, tags, Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) or index cards, the choice is yours. You just go with what ever is in your head at the time.  You can stamp, get inky, use patterned papers, texture, embellish it is all down to you.

The prompt for Week 38 is "Engineering/cogs"

For my Week 38 - "Engineering/cogs", I used a cream coloured tag for the base.  Stamping the Funky Fossil Designs engine, part of their "Engine Room" stamp set in Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink.  I then coated the ink with Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and heat set the image.

Next, I used Versafine Clair "Sand Dune" ink through the Funky Fossil "Mechanical" and "Micro Dots" stencils.

I then used Versafine Clair "Pine Cone" brown ink through the "In the air" stencil for the birds. I edged the tag in Versafine Clair "Chianti" dark red ink, using the same ink through the diamond section of the Funky Fossil "Make your mark III" stencil.

Finally, I used a Posca Pen to make black paint splatters across the surface of the tag and then mounted the tag on to a piece of co-ordinating card.

Stampers Anonymous "Flower Jar CMS297" Card

I was up at silly 'o clock again this morning.  I was feeling too hot to sleep, so decided to get up and make this card.

I decided to use a Stampers Anonymous stamp set, I've not used them for ages, opting for the red rubber cling set called "Flower Jar - CMS297".

I used two shades of Versafine Clair inks (Warm Breeze & Morning Mist), both stamped in second generation stampin as I didn't want hard solid lines for the glass jar.

Next I stamped the flower, using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" for the stem and "Summertime" for the flower head, again stamped in second generation stamping as I wanted the whole thing to look light and delicate.

I coloured the flower with Derwent Inktense Pencils, applied with a paint brush, I also extended the stem of the flower towards the base of the jar.

I used "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide ink and a 2B pencil to ground the jar.

Using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink, I stamped the "Thinking of you" greeting, which is part of the Simon Says Stamp "Tiny Words" sentiment stamp set.

I then used "Lost Shadow" Distress Oxide ink, through the Funky Fossil "Micro Dots stencil" just around the main stamped area.  Finally adding some touches of white gel pen as highlights.

Funky Fossil Designs "Good Vibes" Surfer Card

I'm on a roll with my card making today, here's another one.

I've used the Funky Fossil Designs "Waverider" and "Micro Dots" stencil with various shades of Archival inks.

I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink to stamp the camper van and sentiment, which are both part of the Funky Fossil "Good Vibes" stamp set. I coloured the van, using a Derwent Inktense pencil.

Penny Black "Poppy Time 40-323" Card

Today I've played with a Penny Black Inc. cling stamp called "Poppy Time - 40-323" to create this card. 

On white card, I stamped the poppy image using a fade out ink (Ink on 3), which provides a no line for colouring images.

I used the Ranger/Distress Water Colour pencil in "Candied Apple", applied with a brush to colour the poppy.  I them used a white Signo pen and a black fine liner pen to add extra detail.  I used the "Crushed Olive" Distress Water Colour pencil for the flower stems.

In the background, I used a light wash of "Speckled Egg" Distress Oxide Ink.  Once dry, I then used the same ink to darken the edges of the card, then lay the "Micro Dots Stencil" from Funky Fossil Designs to create the dotty background using the same ink.

Penny Black Stamps "Brilliance 40-806" Just For You Card

This morning I decided to play with a new Distress Oxide Ink, recently released by the Ranger/Tim Holtz brand combo. The ink is called "Saltwater Taffy" and is a soft coral pink shade.

I stamped the Penny Black "Brilliance 40-806" cling stamp in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" second generation stamping to achieve a light coloured image.  I then coloured the leaves with "Crushed Olive" and "Rustic Wilderness" Distress Oxide Inks.  I felt it needed more colour, so I added contrast using Derwent Inktense pencils.  For the berries, I used "Festive Berries" Distress Oxide Ink, adding extra detail with coloured pencils and a white Gelly Roll pen.

I then moved on to the background, using a Funky Fossil Designs stencil called "Micro Dots" with the new "Saltwater Taffy" Distress Oxide Ink.

I stamped the Lavinia Stamps sentiment using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I then added splatters of white and black dots using Posca Pens.

Funky Fossil Designs "Ferns" Birthday Card

After a run of using Lavinia Stamps, today I used some products by Funky Fossil Designs to create this card.

For the background,I used the Funky Fossil "Fern" stamp set, stamped In second generation Versafine "Olympia Green" ink.

I then used the Funky Fossil "Micro Dots" stencil with "Bundled Sage" Distress Oxide Ink, then used Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink to stay the script using the Funky Fossil "A7 Vintage Script" stamp.

For the main central image, I again stamped the fern using "Olympia Green" ink then coated with "Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.  I then used "Bundled Sage" Distress Oxide Ink through the "Micro Dots" stencil.

I used a Lawn Fawn stamp for the sentiment, part of their "Simply Sentiments" stamp set.

Penny Black "Wonder Collection" Christmas Card

Another Christmas card, this time using the Penny Black (clear) Wonder Collection Stamp set.

I've stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  Then coloured the flowers with Distress Oxide Inks in the following shades:  Festive Berries, Candied Apple abd Twisted Citron.  I also used some coloured pencils and a white Signo pen.

I used "Mowed Lawn" Distress Oxide Ink through theFunky Fossil stencil called "Micro Dots" to add a touch of colour between the flowers.

Day 24 of #thedailymarker30day challenge (August 2021)

Day 24 of #thedailymarker30day colouring challenge.

I've used a Stampin' Up set called "Lovely as a tree" for the leaf and acorn image, coloured with Distress Oxide Inks.  I've used a Funky Fossil Stencil called "Micro Dots" to create a bit of interest around the leaves.

The sentiment is by Waffle Flower Stamps and is part of their "Essential Sentiments" stamp set, also stamped in Distress Oxide Ink.

Love Bird Anniversary Card

I've used a products from three different manufacturers to create this anniversary card. 

I've used a Deckle Edge card blank, laying a Lavinia Stamps "Feather Leaf" stencil over the top and working "Seedless Preserve" Distress Oxide Ink over the surface to create the background pattern.

I die cut a plain piece of card into an oval shape, then stamped the birds and hanging heart (both are part of the Funky Fossil "Nordic Noel stamp set), in Versafine Clair "Purple Delight ink.

I then stamped the sentiment in the same ink, which is part of the My Favourite Things stamp set called "Essential Sentiments".

Next I used the Funky Fossil "Micro Dots Stencil" with "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide inks to fill in the background of the oval.  I then used the same ink to shade the birds. 

Finally, I coloured the heart with "Seedless Preserve" Distress Oxide Ink and then adhered the oval onto the decorated Deckle Edged card.

Day 9 of #thedailymarker30day colouring challenge (August 2021)

I've been away for a few days in the caravan, so am a few days behind with my colouring challenge.  This is my Day 9 colouring for #thedailymarker30day colouring challenge.

I've used Versafine Clair ink to stamp the Penny Black "All Natural" stamps and the Simon Says Stamp "Clean Line Everyday" sentiment stamp.  I've used Arteza colouring pencils and the Funky Fossil "Micro Dots" stencil with "Bundled Sage" Distress Oxide Ink in the background.

Funky Fossil Designs "Nordic Noel" New Stamp Release

Yey! Today Funky Fossil Designs have lots of new goodies available to purchase on their site, which include the fabulous "Nordic Noel Stamp Set" which I have used on this sample. 

For this very simple card, I have stamped the images in Versafine Clair "Medieval Blue" ink.  I have then used "Tumbled Glass" Distress Oxide Ink through the Funky Fossil "Micro Dots Stencil". I added a touch of red Posca Pen to the hanging Christmas decoration.

Funky Fossil Designs "Quirky Tree Die" preview #3

Here's another card I made using the new Funky Fossil Die set called "Quirky Trees", which will be available to purchase from this Friday, 14th Mqy 2021.

I have teamed the die cut papers with two layers of Washi Tape, also new on Friday.  I've used the Funky Fossil "Micro Dots Stencil" below the washi tape with "Seedless Preserve" Distress Oxide Ink. The stamped sentiment is from the Funky Fossil Small Print #2 stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Purple Delight".

Tag Book Cover (Using Lavinia Stamps "Pods" stencil)

Now that the tag challenge has finished, I have a group of tags sitting in a pile, that could become tatty due to hanging around.  I decided to make a little booklet for the tags, so that I could use it as a point of reference.

I used four shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon with two stencils.  The Lavinia Stamps "Pods" for the main image and the Funky Fossil "Micro Dots" for the smaller detail around the edges.  I edged the piece with Versafine Clair "Medieval Blue" ink.  I splattered white and gold ink across the surface of the cover and edged the die cut with a metallic gold pen.

I then mounted it on to black card and punched holes in the top (I did the same for each individual tag), all the pages are secured together with a book ring.

Funky Fossil "Hello Gorgeous" Card

Today, I've been playing with a new Funky Fossil stamp set called "Hello Gorgeous", it's a beautiful floral set that can be used for so many occasions. 

I stamped the floral image in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink then coated it in Wow! clear embossing powder and heat set.  I then coloured the image using Distress Oxide Inks, applied with a paint brush.  For the surround, I used "Mowed Lawn" Distress Oxide Ink through the Funky Fossil "Micro Dot" stencil. I added extra colour and shimmer using assorted Signo and Sakura pens.

Funky Fossil Designs new stamp preview "Snail Mail"

 

Today, I can preview a brand new Funky Fossil Designs clear stamp set called "Snail Mail".  

I've used Distress Oxide Spray Inks called "Peeled Paint" and "Speckled Egg" for the background colour on a cream tag.  I then used the Funky Fossil "Micro Dots" stencil with "Mowed Lawn" Distress Oxide inks.

I used the new "Snail Mail" stamp set coloured with Posca Pens.  

Day 6 #thedailymarker30day colouring challenge using Woodware "Wiggly Stems" and Funky Fossil Micro Dot Stencil

This is my make for Day 6 of #thedailymarker30day colouring challenge.

I've used a Woodware Stamp called "Wiggly Stems - JGS485" stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

I've coloured the image using a selection of Distress Oxide Inks and Posca Pens, some through the Funky Fossil Stencil called "Micro Dots".
