Avery Elle "Weight Lifting" 18th Birthday Card

Following on from my post yesterday.  You may recall I wasn't happy with the 18th Birthday card I had made.  Today I have made another card which I am a lot happier with.

I used the same "Avery Elle" weigh lifting stamp, but this time used the Funky Fossil "Sunray Stencil" with "Candied Apple" Distress Oxide Ink to create the background, fading the colour out towards the edges.

I used a Lawn Fawn greeting from their "Simply Sentiments" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  I coloured the figure with Posca Pens.

I then die cut the 18 in the image and also in a layer of black Funky Foam.  I adhered the card and funky foam letters together then stuck them on to the card, so that the 18 is elevated out of the card, without it being too obvious.

  1. I can understand why you're happier with this version, not as busy with cleaner lines and raised 18 panel

  2. I did see the older versions of this card and agree that this does work better with less going on and the number cut from the image and elevated a bit works really well Sam. A great card for a weight lifter and a fun image as well. x

    1. Thanks Pat. The card is with the recipient, but the birthday isn't till Tuesday, so I've not had any feedback on it yet x
