Spellbinders Timeless Heart Textured Flowers Tag

I received "Happy Post" in the form of a new Spellbinders die, so I just had to have a play!

I purchased the Spellbinders "Timeless Heart Textured Flowers" die set from Hope & Chances website, who specialise in Spellbinder dies.  There are 7 dies in the pack (five different sizes of petals and two sizes of leaves).

I started off with the tag background.  Using Tim Holtz Distress Inks in shades of yellow, green and blue.  I splashed a few drops of water over it to give it a more textured look.

Next, I stamped a section of verse using a stamp from Oak House Studio.  Using a Spellbinder die, I cut the trellis in white card (I don't recall the name of the trellis), and stuck it down across the lower section of the tag, trimming the edges.  To add interest, I inserted some of the die off-cuts to fill sections of the trellis.  I then die cut the sentiment, adhering it to the middle of the trellis area.

Using my Sizzix Big Shot die cutting machine, I cut the flowers and leaves using my new die.  (I found to get the detail, I needed to add a shim).

Once the sections were cut, I returned to my Distress Inks. I added some "Twisted Citron" to my glass mat and used a wet paintbrush to dilute the colour, which I then painted onto the white flowers.  Once dry, I then secured the sections with a brad.  Starting from the middle outwards, I started to scrunch and curl the petals.  I then stuck it to the tag.  I added a touch of glue to the petals and slid them under the flower.  I felt it needed something else, so I also die cut a piece of foliage using a Creative Expressions die and slid that beneath the leaves.  Finally, I added ribbon to the tag and then an occasional drop of Ranger Glossy Accents to the flower, to give the impression of dew/rain drops.
