Week 39 - 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2017

For my tag, I started with a Panpastel shaded background in pink & mauve tones.  I then put the tag in an embossing folder with a sewing theme pattern.  The pattern didn't show up very much, so I then decided to use a brayer and brown ink to colour the raised area.

Using a Hero Arts stamp, I stamped some thread reels, colouring them in with Promarker pens.  I then cut them out and stuck them to the tag.

I added cotton lace to the base of the tag and off-cuts of ribbons to the left hand side.  I added ric-rac and then white buttons with the letters "GBSB" (Great British Sewing Bee).  Finally, I added a safety pin and buttons.

Winter Birds Tag

Well the weather here today is a bit of a surprise, grey, breezy and a little damp too.  Where did the Bank Holiday sunshine disappear to? I'm guessing this has influenced my tag!

I used a blend of Panpastels to create a pale background.  Then using a Crafter's Companion script stamp, I stamped across the tag.  For some reason the ink faded a little which added to the look I was wanting to create.

I'd purchased a couple of used stamps as a bundle, so decided to try them out.  The first was the birds I've used at the base of the stamp, the second is the "Winter Birds" which I stamped on a Panpastel off-cut and then mounted it on black cardstock and glued into position.  Finally I used black ink for some of the edges, to help the subtle colours to brighten.

Three Flower Tag (Stampers Anonymous Mini Bouquet)

This tag was a struggle.  Just as I was nearing completion of it, some ink bled which resulted in me cutting the offending area off and wondering what to do next as I'd already invested too much time on it.

Anyway, fresh eyes on it this morning meant that I was able to finish it.  Not quite what I had originally intended but ok-ish!

The original area is the two flower heads and the script background (the script is a stamp from Oak House Studio).  The flower is from the Stampers Anonymous "Mini Bouquet" set. which I coloured using watercolour pencils.

I prepared a Panpastel background in shades of purple, mauve & black then ran it through the Big Shot in a dotty embossing folder.  I then stuck the original section to the top.  This left and empty area on the bottom right hand side of the tag, so I stamped another flower, coloured it in and cut around it sticking it to the tag to fill the empty area.

So this is proof that not all items created run smoothly.

A Touch of Nature Card

The coloured background was achieved by blending Panpastels.  I then used Stampin' Up "A Touch Of Nature" stamps to firstly stamp the central flower and then stamp the foliage around it.

I then die the stamped image into a circle.  Next I used a Spellbinder scalloped edge circle and cut it in black cardstock.  I glued the stamped image on top of this.

The sentiment is from Rubbadubbadoo magnetic set, which I stamped using black Stazon ink.

Fly Butterfly Tag

I started this tag by stamping the butterfly image (using the butterfly from the Stampin' Up set called "Touch Of Nature") onto a prepared Panpastel background and then masked the area so that I could stamp the script background (using Crafter's Companion script cling stamp).

I then used a couple of Tim Holtz stampers anonymous stamps for the honeycomb and heavy black dot shapes. I then stamped the flower (below the butterfly) which was part of a "Little Claire" stamp set, sticking embellishments to the centres.  The edges were inked with various shades of ink and the stickers "Fly" were added.

Wish You Were Here Card

I managed to have a quick play with the We R Memory Keepers "woven" embossing folders, making this card with a stamped and Panpastel background, mounted onto black cardstock and then mounted onto the embossed cardstock.

I really like the effect of the embossing on these tags, now I just have to find the time to do something with them.

Flying Balloon Tag

Today I had a very quick play with stamping and made this tag with a shaded Panpastel background.  (I don't recall who made the balloon stamp, but the hexagon script is by Creative Expressions).

Grungy Panpastel Tag

You may notice that I have quite a formal style of crafting. Everything is usually thought about, positioned & then repositioned to get the look I'm after.

Today however, I went slightly grungy in style and although I didn't totally freestyle, I went as far as I could.

I used Panpastels for the background colours, stamping the face, leaf & chicken wire. I used a silver gel pen to shade the leaf and inked the edges of the tag.
