Lavinia Stamps "Using up scraps" card

I had a re-jig of my craft desk and found some bits and bobs that had been hanging around for a while and were destined for the bin.  I sorted out the ocean related items and matched it with a small off-cut of a background I had created some time ago.  Just enough to make an ATC (Artist Trading Card).

The design of the background was a scrap using the Lavinia Stamps "Charming Stecil".  I inked the edges is a couple of shades of blue and then sprinkled water droplets from a fan paint brush then blotted dry.

I had an envelope of electrically die cut items using the following Lavinia Stamps:  Seaweed, Marine Kelp and Flo the fish", which I coloured, arranged a layout and stuck into position.  I then stamped the "Sea Bubbles" using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Under the sea" tag

This morning I made this tag.  For the base, I used the Lavinia Stamps "Coral Stencil" with three shades of Distress Oxide Inks (Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet).

For the edge detail I used the spines from Lavinia "Sebastian the seahorse" stamped in Versafine Clair "Medieval Blue" ink.  I then stamped the Lavinia "Zen Plant" in Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink.

I used the Lavinia "Fish Set" stamped in Versafine Clair "Bluebelle" and "Paradise".  I then stamped the Lavinia "Sea Bubbles in "London Fog" Memento Ink.  I then edged the bubbles with a white Posca Pen.

Lavinia Stamps Sebastian Seahorse and Urchin Card

I seem to be on a roll with my crafting this week.  Here's a card featuring Lavinia Stamps Sebastian the Seahorse.

I created the background by putting three shades of Distress Oxide Inks (Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers and Blue Print Sketch) on to my glass mat, I then spritzed the ink and dragged a piece of white card through the ink till the surface was mainly covered in ink.  I used my heat gun to dry it before commencing stamping.

For this card I have used Lavinia Stamps throughout the project, starting by stamping "Sebastian" the seahorse in Versafine Clair "Medieval Blue" ink.  I used the same ink to stamp the "Sea Urchins".

I masked the seahorse and the urchins and then used the "Marine Kelp" stamp with Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.  I coloured the kelp with "Peeled Paint" Distress Oxide, applied with a paint brush.  At the same time, I created reeds swaying in the background.

I used the "Sea Bubbles" stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink, adding some white highlights to the bubbles, the seahorse and the urchins using a white Signo pen.

Lavinia Stamps Jalandhar jelly fish Card

I've been playing with more of the new Lavinia Stamps today.  This card features "Jalandhar" the jelly fish.

I started with a Brusho background I had prepared some time back.  It had a white border, so I decided to colour it using two shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Peacock Feathers and Broken China.

I then stamped the main image "Jalandhar" in Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink.  Around the bottom half of the card I used the hair from the new stamp called "Astrid" to replicate reeds waving in the water.  I stamped in two shades of Versafine Clair Ink:  "Verdant" (the lighter shade) and "Shady Lane" (the darker shade).

I then stamped the sentiment using the "Deeper than the ocean" sentiment in "Warm Breeze" Versafine Clair ink.

I stamped the bubbles using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" ink with the "Sea Bubbles" stamp set.

I used a white Signo Pen to highlight areas of the jelly fish and the bubbles.  I finally added Ranger "Glossy Accents" to the body of "Jalandhar" and left to dry over night.

Lavinia Stamps - Sebastian the seahorse (on a gelli plate background)

Looking through my stamps, I realised it's been ages since I used the Lavinia Stamps "Sebastian the Seahorse".  The detail on it is stunning, so I decided to have a play.

I had a prepared 6" gelli plate background from a previous session a couple of weeks back, so decided to use it.  (It was Colorbox "Artichoke" colour ink brayered onto the plate, with splashes of turquoise coloured wet Brusho sprinkled on top of the brayered colour).

I added some extra colour to the top of the circle as it was too light for what I wanted using a couple of Distress Oxide Inks.

I stamped "Sebastian" in Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.

I stamped the background taller "Seaweed 2" in Versafine Clair "Verdant" light green ink.

I stamped the "Stones" in Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink and coloured them with a metallic gold pen.

I stamped the darker coloured "Seaweed" stamped in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.

I stamped the "Sea Bubbles" in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I added some touches of silver glitter using a Signo Pen.

Lavinia Stamps New Stamp Release (January 2020) Aria, Luna Lights and Pink Orbs

I am absolutely loving the new stamps from Lavinia Stamps, especially this fairy "Aria".  As her hair is kind of floating upwards, I decided to make an under water scene as one of my samples.

I started by swooshing two Distress Oxide Inks "Cracked Pistachio" and "Peacock Feathers" across the surface of a piece of white card.

I used Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink to stamp the three new stamps, "Aria" the fairy, "Luna Lights" the flowers on the left of the fairy and "Pink Orbs" the circular designs Aria is sitting on.I used a pencil to shade the "Pink Orbs".

I used two stamps from the existing Lavinia Stamps collection to create the bubbles, "Sea Bubbles" and "Bubbles" both stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I used a white Posca Pen to shade the bubbles along with a silver glitter Signo Pen.

Design Team make for "My Time To Craft Challenge Blog" #414 Disney Inspired

It's time for a new prompt on the "My Time To Craft Challenge Blog".  Challenge #414 is "Disney Inspired".  If you have a minute to spare, please do pop over and take a look at the fabulous makes by my Design Team colleagues and maybe enter the challenge yourself?

I decided to go with a mermaid theme. I used a background I had prepared a while back.  It was made using the gelli plate and from memorey "artichoke" Colorbox ink brayered onto the plate and "turquoise" Brusho splashed onto the plate using a fan brush.

I used three Visible Image stamp sets to create this card.  First I stamped the mermaid (Visible Image "Mythical Mermaid" stamp set) on to the coloured card base and also onto an off-cut of white card, using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" in both instances.

Using the coloured card base I stamped the rays over the head of the mermaid using Visible Image "Rays of light" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Paradise" blue ink.

Using a stamp from the Visible Image "Dare to swim" stamp set, I stamped the sea weed using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.

I then coloured the image of the mermaid, using a black fine line marker pen for the staff (both on the coloured background and the area by the arm of the mermaid).  I used "Tattered Rose" Distress Oxide Ink (applied with a paint brush) for the skin and an assortment of Signo Pens for the rest of the mermaid.  I then cut the image out wit the exception of the staff and adhered onto the card.

I inked the edges of the card in a blue Distress Oxide ink called "Blueprint Sketch" and then stamped the sentiment in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Finally, I stamped the air bubbles using a Lavinia Stamps "Sea Bubbles" stamp in Versafine Clair "Paradise" blue ink and coloured them with a white Posca Pen.
