52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2024 - Week 16

This is a weekly challenge. I provide you with a prompt/theme each Sunday morning through out the year.  The challenge is very relaxed.  You can do as much or as little as you like.  You can create cards, tags, Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) or index cards, the choice is yours. You just go with what ever is in your head at the time.  You can stamp, get inky, use patterned papers, texture, embellish it is all down to you.

The Crafting Niche 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2024:

The prompt for Week 16 is "Stencil"

This is the tag that I have made for the Week 16.  I started with a cream coloured tag, colouring the surface with three shades of Ranger Archival Inks, using Buttercup, Sunflower and Bright Tangello.

I used "Vermillian" Ranger Archival Ink through the Clarity Stamps "Bijou Bookprint Stencil" in three different positions off the edge of the tag.

Next I used Ranger Archival "Watering Can" ink through the stripes section of the Clarity "Birds Decorative Panel" in the blank areas.

I lay the Clarity "Barbara's Star Flower Spray stencil" over the tag and applied Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink through the stencil.  I then inked the edges of the tag using the same ink.

For extra detail, I went around some of the areas with a black fine liner pen. I also added dots and lines using a metallic gold gel pen.  Finally adding some dots of pale blue Posca Pen to the middle of the flowers.

Clarity Stamps "Birds on Branches" Congratulations Card

 

The rain has been lashing against the windows, so I'm up at silly o' clock again, making a card.  

I used a couple of Clarity stencils for this card.  The first one, on the right in the background, is the "Birds Decorative Panel" stencil.  I used the pink ink that was left on my stencil brush to achieve the soft colour.

The second stencil is the "Birds On Branches" stencil, I used just one of the branches on the stencil, coloured with two shades of Ranger "Archival Inks".  I used "Watering Can" grey ink and then added a touch of "Vibrant Fuchsia" pink ink on the chest area.

I used one of the Clarity "Occasions Sentiments Congratulations" stamps, stamped in "Charming Pink" Versafine Clair ink for the sentiment.

Clarity Stamps "Leafy Swirl" Stencilled Birthday Card

 

For some reason I couldn't sleep, so was up 4am and decided to craft. I've used four Clarity stencils and two of their stamp sets for this card.

I started by masking of the vertical and horizontal edges of the right hand side of the card using a low tack masking tape.  I used "Sunflower" Archival ink through three of the rectangles in the Clarity "Abstract Squares" stencil.

I then used "Tea Rose" Archival Ink through the striped section of the Clarity "Birds Decorative Panel" stencil in two different directions over the yellow rectangles.

Next I used "Shadow Grey" Archival Ink through the Clarity "Zig Zag" stencil fading the colour out towards the left hand side of the card.

I used two shades of Ranger Archival Inks (Cornflower first and then Vivid Chartreuse) through the Clarity "Abstract Droplets" stencil, again fading the colour out towards the left hand side of the card.

I stamped the Clarity "Leafy Swirl" and the "Entwined Sentiment" using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.

Finally, adding a few finishing touches, by using a gold shimmer gel pen to go around the edges of the droplets and adding some white "Enamel Accents" to break up the colour a little.
