Penny Black "Distinctive 40-831" Cling Stamp card

I've been out and about today, so not really had a proper crafting session, but did make this card using a Penny Black "Distinctive 40-831" cling stamp, stamped in various shades of Memento Inks (Spring Pansy, Lulu Lavender, New Sprout and Pistachio).

Around the edge of the card I have used "Shabby Shutters" Distress Oxide Ink to pull the eye into the card.

I have used the Penny Black clear stamp set for the sentiment called "Not older, better 308-96", stamped in Versafine Clair "Purple Delight" Ink

Card-io Majestix Easter Card

It's the first of April, my first "Hot Cross Bun" has been eaten and Easter isn't far away, so I decided to make an Easter card.

I have used four sets of Card-io Majestix stamps to create this card:  Basket & Bows, Eggstra Special, Winter View and Freesia & Violet sets.

I have stamped in Versafine Clair and Memento Inks, using Distress Oxide Ink for the mottled background shade.

Lavinia Stamps "Foliage Wreath" Birthday Card

This evening, I've made this foliage wreath using a couple of Lavinia Stamps "Pound Mini Stamps" and their "Foliage Set 2", stamped in "New Sprout" and "Pear Tart" Memento Ink and Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.

The central sentiment is by Waffle Flower Stamps and is part of their "Essential Sentiments" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.

I used a yellow Posca Pen to add some dots around the wreath.

Card-io "Baskets and Bows" Floral Birthday Card

I seem to be chasing my tail so much that I decided to make a list of things that I needed to do and just work my way through them.  The list consists of cards to be made, presents to be wrapped, posting Christmas cards and renewing stuff too.   This seems to have worked as I have managed to put a line through a few of the tasks.

This is a card I have made for a friend that likes to garden, which was ideal as I wanted to try out a Card-io clear stamp set I had recently purchased, called "Baskets and Bows".

I've used four different Card-io stamp sets for this card:  Basket and Bows, Wild Flowers, Tiny Trailers and Sweet Hearts.  I've stamped in an assortment of inks, includine Versafine Clair, Memento and Distress Oxide Inks.  I've used touches of gelly roll pens and coloured pencils too.

The sentiment is one from a Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Birthday" which I absolutely adore.  I'm not one for huge, smack you in the face verse and sentiments so this stamp set is ideal for me.

Card-io "Wild Flowers" half wreath card

This is a card I have made for a dear friend, who celebrates a significant birthday today.

First, I used a circle stencil on the left side, I drew a light pencil line around the edge, on the right hand side, I used "Bundled Sage" Distress Oxide Ink to create a soft coloured edge, to give the impression of the continued wreath.

For the wreath, I used two Card-io stamp sets "Wild Flowers" and "Sweet Hearts", stamped in various shades of Memento and Distress Oxide Inks.  I then added some touches of Posca Pen to the middle of the flowers for extra detail.

Both the sentiments used are by Simon Says Stamps, using two of their sets:  "Tiny Words Birthday" and "Tiny Words Encouragement", both stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

I had a quick play making this Valentine's Tag.  I started Using Distress Oxide Spray in two shades "Spiced Marmalade" and "Picked Raspberry".

Through a stencil, I applied Distress Ink in the shade of "Festive Berries".  I then stamped the Lavinia Stamps sentiment "Together" stamped in Versafine Clair "Glamorous".

Finally, I stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Mini Leaf" in a Memento Ink.  I added ink to the edges of the tag and dots of silver glitter using a Signo Pen.

Lavinia Stamps February 2019 Monthly Challenge #1

Every month, Lavinia Stamps has a monthly challenge.  As part of the the Design Team, we are asked to produce some samples to promote the challenge and inspire crafters to take part.  This is my make for the February Challenge on a theme of "A Place To Escape To".

I had an idea in my head of the sort of piece I wanted to make for this challenge, so I routed through my Lavinia stash, pulling out the stamps I thought I could use and then started putting it together.

I started by making the background, using the following Distress Oxides:  Antique Linen, Tumbled Glass and Twisted Citron.

I then started stamping the images.  Starting with "Sacred Spells" in Versafine "Stormy Grey" shade of ink.  I then stamped the red "Spotty Toadstool", "Jasmin & Sebastian House", "Fairy Orbs", "Small Pixies", Hedgehog from the "Wallace Family" and finally the butterfly from "Fairy Bugs" all stamped in Versafine "Black Onyx" ink. I then coloured the images with Promarkers.

Using an assortment of Lavinia "Pound Stamps", I stamped the red and green leaves, the orange flowers on the grass and also the stars around the Pixies in Memento Inks.

Lavinia Stamps "Shaylee" Card

This weekend we have had our son and his family staying with us.  we planned a fairy hunt in the garden for Willow, our Grand daughter who is five, and she loved it, so I've made this card to remind Willow of her stay with us.

I started the card, by creating a background using various shades of Distress Oxides.

All the stamps I have used are by Lavinia Stamps.  I stamped the main fairy "Shaylee" in Versafine "Black Onyx" ink.  I then created the landscape Shaylee stands on by using Distress Oxides and a mask.

I then stamped the "Foxglove" and the "Fern Heads" in Colorbox and Memento inks.

I stamped the "mini snail", "Fairy Bugs" and the "ball/bubble" the fairy is holding in Versafine Ink. I added touches of white and silver glitter to the card by using Signo Pens.  Finally, I added "Glossy Accents" to give the bubble a more crystal ball look and a handful of clear Nuvo sequins to add quiet interest to the background.

Remembrance Card (Lavinia Stamps)

Yesterday I visited a local church (St.Eleth's Church in Amlwch, Anglesey), which had a fabulous Remembrance display including a whole drift of crochet poppies running from the tower to the ground.  Inspired by this display, I made this clean and simple card.

I masked off a circle on the middle of a card blank and used Distress Inks to create the background scene.  I used the Lavinia Stamps "Group Poppies" stamped in Memento Ink shades of "Cottage Ivy" and "Love Letters".

The sentiment is a stamp by Stampin' Up and is part of the "Sheltering Tree" set, also stamped in Memento Ink "Cottage Ivy".

Here are some photos of my inspiration from yesterday.

Restful Christmas Card (Penny Black)

A few months ago, I watched a tutorial on how to use a Penny Black Slapstick stamp called "Restful".  I tried to source this stamp in the UK, but it seemed to be sold out, so I ordered it from America.  It arrived and has sat on my desk for a couple of weeks.  Today I decided to try the technique out.

Although I have a lot of crafting stash, I didn't have many of the exact products used in the tutorial, so I improvised with what I had.

This photo is my second attempt at the card.  The first one went wrong because I did not follow my instincts and the result ended in the bin - so lesson learnt!

For my version, I have used the following items:  Versafine "Vintage Sepia", various shades of Memento and Cats Eyes inks.  Versamark clear ink pad, clear embossing powder, Distress Inks, Signo Pen, Gesso for the snow flakes.

Week 42 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2018

The prompt for Week 42 is "Autumn".

With the strong winds, our garden is covered in leaves that have been ripped from the trees, making everywhere look very Autumnal so this prompt is very apt.

I started with  a base of Distress Inks in various shades.  I then stamped the Autumn sentiment, which is from Sweet Poppy, stamped in Versafine "Vintage Sepia".

I then used an assortment of Lavinia Stamps, including Chinese Lanterns, Wild Vines, Silhouette Thistle and some pound stamps too.  Stamped in Versafine and Memento inks.  I added accents in a gold metallic pen too.

I am going to enter this tag into Stamping Sensations challenge on an Autumn prompt.

Week 36 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2018

The prompt for Week 36 is:  "Your Initials"

For my tag I made a background to Memento Inks using shades of Dandelion, Cantaloup, Tangelo and Love Letter.  I applied it with a silicon make up pad that works a bit like a small gelli plate.

Using a Versafine Clair ink in the shade of "Tulip Red" I stamped the Sara Davies script. Using two shades of Versafine Ink (Black Onyx and Smokey Grey) I stamped the circles, which are from the Visible Image set called "Shape It Up", I then inked the edges of the tag too. I used a gold metallic pen to add dots to the surface of the tag.

Using a white chipboard heart, I used a Black Soot Distress Ink through a Tim Holts/Stampers Anonynous mask/stencil called Dot Fade Layering.  I stuck that to the tag.

I inked up some chipboard letters, using the Memento "Love Letter" ink, I had used for the base and then added then to the tag from the top left corner to the bottom right.  Finally, I added some smaller chipboard letters to the surface of the chipboard heart and some Nuvo sheer diamond sequins to the main tag.

New Home Card

I needed to make a quick new home card, so popped this together.

I've used pale pink and white patterned paper for the background.  I die cut the "home" letters and the little house on the end.

Using a Memento ink in a shade called "Rhubarb Stalk", I stamped the words "New" and "Welcome".  I stamped flourish/scrolls in the corner using a stamp I've had for years and inked the edges of the card to pull the eye to the middle of the card.

Lavinia Stamp Seahorse - Sunset Ocean Card

I have not really dipped my toe into manufacturer challenges, but this month I decided to have a go at the Lavinia Stamps Challenge, with a theme of "Sunset Pinks".

Lavinia Stamps are known for their fabulous fairy images, so instead of going down that route, I thought i'd spin it and do an underwater sunset instead.

I created the shaded background using Brusho paints/colours.  I used four Lavinia stamp sets on this project,  stamped in either "Black Onyx" or "Smokey Grey" Versafine Ink or Memento "Grape Jelly". The stamps I used are Seahorse (LAV496), Indian Flourish (LAV495), Shoal of Fish (LAV432) and Sea Creatures (LAV170).  I also used a white and metallic gold coloured Signo pen.  I added a few pearlescent sequins to add a little shimmer too.

Get Well Soon (Paisley & Posies) Card

I made this card using a Memento Ink Pad in "Paris Dusk" shade stamped using the Stampin' Up Paisleys & Posies" stamp set to create the patterned background.  The sentiment was made using a Spellbinder "Jubilee Tags" die set.

Sending Good Thoughts Card

My good friend has been poorly the last week or so and it came to a head last night, so she is now waiting to be seen in A&E.  With her in mind I made this card.

This is one of the pre-prepared backgrounds from a couple of nights ago.  I used the Stampin' up Paisleys & Posies stamp set, stamped in Memento Ink "Grape Jelly".  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up "Perfect Pennants" and is stamped in the same colour.

I die cut the sentiment using the Stampin' up "Banner Framelits dies".  The green foliage was die cut using the Stampin' up "Botanical Builders" dies.

I didn't have flowers of the correct shade so I used Promarkers (Royal Purple, Amethyst & Orchid colours) to shade some cream coloured flowers.  I kept them together by using a small brad.

A Seeing Spots Thank You Card

It's a warm, bright and sunny morning which inspired me to make a bright and sunny Thank You card.

I used an old wooden Stampin' Up set of stamps. I've had them for so long that I've forgotten what they're called! I stamped the central "Thank You" circle first and worked my way out to the edges using various shades of Memento ink pads.

Edited to add:  This set is called "Seeing Spots" from the 2008/09 Stampin' Up Catalogue - I knew I'd had them a long time, I hadn't realised how long.  Sam x
