52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2026 - Week 14

The Crafting Niche 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2026:

This is a weekly challenge. I provide you with a prompt/theme each Sunday morning through out the year.  The challenge is very relaxed.  You can do as much or as little as you like.  You can create cards, tags, Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) or index cards, the choice is yours. You just go with what ever is in your head at the time.  You can stamp, get inky, use patterned papers, texture, embellish it is all down to you.

There is a dedicated private Facebook Group, with a lovely bunch of people who are already sharing their makes from previous challenges.  You can find the group by clicking this link.  I'd love you to join in.

The prompt for Week 14 is "Ovals"

For my tag, I positioned an oval stencil in the middle of my tag as a mask.  I die cutting a very small oval shape from so acetate using a Spellbinders die.  This shape was used with various shades of Ranger Archival Inks around the edge of the central oval shape.  The colours I used are: Pink Peony, Sky Blue, Shadow Grey and Vivid Chartreuse.

Removing the central oval mask stencil, I then positioned the other bit of the stencil over the tag, securing the position with a piece of low tack tape.  I then built up the central scene.

on the tag, I stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Ashfoot" the hare in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I then stamped "Ashfoot" again on a post-it pad and fussy cut the shape, then placed it over the stamped hare on the tag.

Next, I coloured the land and sky area.  For the grass, I used "Leaf Green" Ranger Archival Ink.  For the sky, I used some blue ink that remained on my blending brush.

I then stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Witch Hazel" tree branch, in Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink. From the tree branch I then stamped the hanging bell, which is a Lavinia stamp called "Bells", stamping in Versfine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I used the same ink to edge the oval.

I then used Versafine Clair "Avocado" mid green ink and "Shady Lane" olive green coloured ink to stamp the  leaves in the tree (a Lavinia mini stamp) and the Lavinia "Leaf Spray" and "Foliage" stamp set.

Removing the mask on "Ashfoot", I then coloured him using Derwent Inktense pencils.  I added some shadow under him using a 2B pencil and finally added some flowers to the grass area using white, oragnge and yellow coloured Posca Pens.

An Easter Bunny Card (Penny Black Garden Friends)

Willow, our three year old Grandaughter was in an Easter concert yesterday, dressed as a bunny.  Unfortunately, because we live so far away, we miss out on the school activities, but we do get to see video clips thanks to moblile phones. I made this card to congratulate Willow on her performance.

I used a Penny Black stamp from their set called "Garden Friends" colouring it with watercolour pencils.  Using a Memorybox "Stitched Rectangle Layers" die, I cut the rectangle then mounted it onto patterned paper and then onto a card blank.

Easter Bunny Gift Tags

Today I have been making some Easter gift tags. The bunny stamp is made by Little Claire Designs and is called "Janette's Bunny".  I have used water colour pencils to colour the image.
