Design Team Make - "Love To Craft Challenge Blog" #34 (May 2019)

The first of the month means there is another new challenge on the "Love To Craft Challenge Blog" which always offers  an "Anything Goes (ATG)" challenge.  If you have a spare moment, please do pop over to the challenge blog and check out the fabulous makes by my fellow design team colleagues and maybe enter the challenge yourself.

I started by preparing a background of Distress Inks on a Gelli Plate using the following colours:  Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers.  My friend had given me an intricate paper cut overlay, (a bit like net but in paper), so I stuck that down over the pretty background colours.

Using another section of the same Gelli Print and black cardstock, I die cut flowers and leaves using the Stampin' Up "Botanical Builder Framelits".  I layered the flowers and foliage and then stuck into position.

I then stamped the sentiment, which was in a Stampin' Up set called "For Everything", stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne".  I then die cut it into an oval shape and stuck it to the card using foam pads.  Finally, I added touches of silver glitter to the flowers and to the sentiment.

Apple Blossom Thinking Of You Embossed Card

I fancied doing a white on white card today, ending up creating this "Thinking Of You" Card.

I started off using the Big Shot and the Apple Blossom "That Folder" to emboss the background. Using the Apple Blossom "Banners & Blooms" die set, I cut the banner. Using the co-ordinating Apple Blossom "Wavy Sentiment" stamp set, I stamped the "Thinking Of You" greeting and stuck the banner in to position.

Using Stampin' Up "Botanical Builder Framelits" dies I cut assorted flowers and foliage.  Using another Stampin' Up set, "Pretty Pine Thinlits" I cut some fir tree foliage.  I then assembled and glued the flowers and foliage into position.  Finally, I added some self adhesive pearl gem stones to finish the card.

A Happy Birthday (Music Sheet) Card

For this card, I used a copy of the music sheet for the "Happy Birthday" song.  In two shades of green I stamped a leaf pattern using a stamp from Oak House Studio and one from the Stampin' Up set called "Vintage Leaves". I then mounted this on dark green cardstock.

I then cut various pieces of foliage using Stampin' Up "Botanical Builder" and "Leaflet Framelits".  I used the Memorybox "Chloe Stem" seed head die and the Poppystamps "Lorelai Outline Leaf die.  I layered some flowers, attaching them with a small brad.

I then assembled and glued the pieces into position, adding some adhesive pearls for interest.

Floral Banner Birthday Card

This card evolved from something I was planning to make but just didn't gel, so in the end I played and ended up with this floral banner card.

The grey spotty paper is from the Stampin' Up "Carried Away Designer Paper" set.  The orange and yellow cardstock used for the banner are off-cuts from previous projects but they have the texture of Bazzill Cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment onto the orange card using a stamp from the Papertrey Ink set called "Stylish Sentiment".  I cut the two banner shapes using Stampin' Up "Banner Framelit" dies.

I used another Stampin' Up die from the Stampin' Up "Botanical Builder" framelit set to make the foliage garland.  The layered the paper flowers, securing them with a brad in the centre.

Here's a close up look of the detail:

Week 11 - 52 Week Art Card/Tag Challenge 2017

The prompt for Week 11 is "Laugh/Laughter".

For my tag I took inspiration from a reputed quote by Audrey Hepburn where she said:
"I love people who make me laugh.  I honestly think it's the thing I love mose to laugh.  It cures a multitude of ills.  It's probably the most important thing in a person".

So using a spin on this, I have gone for "Laughter is the best medicine".

For the tag I started off with a piece of yellow cardstock cut into a tag shape.  I then inked the edges using a shade of green.

Using a Memorybox Honeycomb die, I cut and adhered the lace to the yellow tag. I then cut the other shapes using Spellbinder dies layering and raising using foam pads to add dimension.

The two green ferns are die cuts from a Stampin' Up set "Botanical Builder Framelits".  Finally, I printed the sentiment and die cut it into a circle.

If you are following and participating in this challenge I would love to see your creations.  You can also find the blog on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ACraftingNiche/

Sending Good Thoughts Card

My good friend has been poorly the last week or so and it came to a head last night, so she is now waiting to be seen in A&E.  With her in mind I made this card.

This is one of the pre-prepared backgrounds from a couple of nights ago.  I used the Stampin' up Paisleys & Posies stamp set, stamped in Memento Ink "Grape Jelly".  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up "Perfect Pennants" and is stamped in the same colour.

I die cut the sentiment using the Stampin' up "Banner Framelits dies".  The green foliage was die cut using the Stampin' up "Botanical Builders" dies.

I didn't have flowers of the correct shade so I used Promarkers (Royal Purple, Amethyst & Orchid colours) to shade some cream coloured flowers.  I kept them together by using a small brad.

Paisley & Posies Birthday Card (mint/grey)

While watching TV last night, I had a stamping session using Stampin' Up "Paisley & Posies" stamp set.  I now have lots of backgrounds in various colourways to draw upon for future projects.

For this card I used a Memento ink pad in "London Fog" shade for the background paisley design.  The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink stamp set called "Stylish Sentiments: Birthday".  The two flowers are die cuts from the Stampin' Up framelits set called "Botanical Builders".

Merry Christmas Wreath Card

It's the first of October, so definitely time to get down to some serious Christmas crafting.

Initially, I stamped the "Merry Christmas" sentiment to the middle of a blank card.  I think the sentiment came free with a magazine.

I die cut the wreath shape using Memorybox "Tupelo Circle, style 98500).  In a darker shade of green I used a Stampin' Up die from the "Botanical Framelits" set for the two extra pieces of foliage.  I then die cut a star on thin cardboard from a serial box (I used this so that it doesn't buckle), coating it with a layer of gold stickles.    I left the piece to set for a couple of hours then positioned it onto the card along with the little red bling gems.
