Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 29

Today is Day 29 of the Tiffany Johnson creative #100daysartplay challenge.  It's also the start of Week 4, so there is a new theme.  The theme for Week 4 is "Texture".

I thought I would kick this theme off with a clean and simple design, using a Gemini/Crafters Companion deep embossing folder that screams texture to me.

I mounted the card on to a piece of dark blue paper and then on to a white card blank.

Using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink, I stamped the Simon Says Stamp sentiment, which is part of their set called "Tiny Words - Birthday" on to white card, trimmed and then mounted it on to matching dark blue paper.

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100artdaysartplay Challenge - Day 9

It's Day 9 of the Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge.  This week is all about stencils.

For this card, I have used "Lemon Zest" Dylusion spray ink for the base colour.  I then lay the Funky Fossil Designs "Broken Radius" stencil over the top and spritzed the surface with "Sqeezed Orange" Dylusion Spray Ink, then set aside to dry.

I used the Funky Fossil "Fern" die set to cut a fern shape in dark blue card, using wet glue to stick the die cut on to the card. I then mounted the card on to the same coloured dark blue card and then onto white card.

Finally, I stamped the Simon Says Stamp sentiment, from their "Tiny Words - Birthday" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.  Then I added some white dots of Range Enamel Accents.

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge - Day 2

It is Day 2 of Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge.  Once again it is using sprays, this time I have used the "wax relief" technique.

I used a Brusho "Wax Resist" crayon to draw the scrolls and dots freehand.

At the top I used Dylusions "Squeezed Orange" spray ink.  On the lower section, I used Dylusions "Ground Coffee" Spray ink.

Once dry, I trimmed the card down and started to decorate, loosely based in the style of one of my favourite artists "Klimt".  I used a gold gel pen, a black Sharpie and a black fine liner.

I mounted the card on to a piece of black paper and then on to a white card blank.

Finally, I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink to stamp the Simon Says Stamp sentiment, which is part of their "Tiny Words - Birthday" stamp set.

Funky Fossil Designs "Indian Mandala" Card

A quick card, using the Funky Fossil Designs "Indian Mandala Stencil" with a metalic copper/gold coloured paint, applied through the stencil with a finger dabber.  It flooded a little bit in one area, which lost some of the stencil pattern, so I decided that was where I was going to put the sentiment.

I used a piece of kraft card and a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Birthdays", stamped in Wow! Clear embossing ink and then coated with Wow! Earthtone Blueberry Embossing Powder and then heat set.  

I then mounted the mandala on to a piece of kraft card and then on to a white card blank. I mounted the sentiment on to a piece of the dark blue card and used black foam pads to elevate the sentiment over the problem area of the stencil.

Penny Black "Doggone Sweet 40-391" Birthday Card

I keep a list of cards I need to make, and although this isn't needed until mid February, I like to try and keep on top of my list, so that I don't have to make something in a hurry, or worse still have to buy a card.

I thought the dog on this stamp was a double of the recipeints dog, so I felt duty bound to use it. The stamp in question is a rubber cling stamp by Penny Black called "Doggone Sweet 40-391", which I stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I used thes same ink to stamp the Simon Says Stamp sentiment, which is part of their "Tiny Words - Birthday" stamp set.

I painted the stamped image using Distress Oxide Inks.  The colours that I used are:  Spun Sugar, Antique Linen, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon and Weathered Wood for the shadowing/grounding.

Stampers Anonymous "Perspective" Happy Birthday Beautiful Card

 

This card came together really quickly, so quickly I wasn't really sure where I was going with it and thought it can always go in the bin if ending badly.  Thankfully, it turned out ok.

It started with me stamping the butterfly, part of the Stampers Anonymous "Perspective - CMS213" stamp set, in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, then coating it in Wow! Embossing Clear embossing powder and heat setting.  I then stamped the butterfly again on a piece of copy paper, fussy cutting the shape to create a mask, which I positioned over the heat embossed butterfly.

I lay the Funky Fossil Designs ""Beauty In Profile" stencil over the top of the butterfly and applied Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink through the stencil.  I removed the stencil then applied "Lost Shadow" Distress Oxide Ink through the Funky Fossil "Micro Squares" stencil to fill the white areas.

I removed the stencil and the mask, then inked the edges of the card, first with "Warm Breeze" Versafine Clair ink and then with "Nocturne" black ink.  I then mounted the card on to black card and then on to a card blank.

I used a Derwent Inktense pencil in the shade of "Malibu" diluted and applied with a brush to areas of the butterfly.  I then used a white gel pen to go round the edges of the blue stencilled area.  I added black dots of Ranger "Enamel Accents" below the butterfly,

Finally, I used a Tim Holtz "Idea-ology" word sticker from the "Big Chat" book saying "Beautiful". Then using Versfine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, stamped the words "Happy Birthday" using a stamp from the Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Birthday".

Gummiapan Balloon on Trellis Birthday Card

A very clean and simple card from me this morning using a couple of Gummiapan dies. 

I used my Sizzix Big Shot to die cut the "Trellis" and the "Balloons" dies from Gummiapan.

I cut two of the trellis and glued the two together and glued on to the card. 

Next I stamped the sentiment, which is part of Simon Says Stamp "Tiny Words - Birthday", stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey Ink. (I did this now as the balloons were going to be raised and may make stamping more difficult).

I then glued the balloon strings into position.  Using sticky foam pads, I added the actual balloons to five dimension to them.

And that's it.  A really quick card to make.

Penny Black "Hello Dear 40-062" Birthday Card

I thought it was time I used one of my Penny Black stamps as it has been a while, so made this card.

I used the Penny Black red rubber cling stamp called "Hello Dear 40-062", stamping the image in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

To colour the stamped image, I used Derwent Inktense pencils, applied with a wet paint brush, addking touches of gel pen to the flowers at the base.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment, which is part of the Simon Says Stamp "Tiny Words - Birthday" stamp set in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist grey ink, before mounting the card on to a lilac piece of card and then on to a card blank.

Sweet Poppy Stencil "Thistle Stem Stamp" Card

Last week, I entered an Instagram competition to "like, tag & share" their post regarding the release of their new stamps.  I was thrilled to receive a message to say that I was one of the winners.  Today I received my three stamps from the new collection.  I opted for the Foxglove, Poppy and the Thistle Stem. 

Today has been a bit busy, so I didn't get to play with the stamps till late evening.  I decided to use the "Thistle Stem" stamp first, stamping it in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink, then colouring the image using Derwent Inktense pencils, sometimes applied with a paint brush and sometimes as a pencil.  I also used a gel pen, a 2B pencil and a Posca Pen.

In the background, I used a Sweet Poppy stencil called "Grid Plate" with "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide Ink, blending tout he colour from right to left.

Finally, I stamped a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Birthday" in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Butterflies Challenge Card

I'm playing catch up with the challenges I have missed, while I was away.  The Friday Eileen Godwin challenge prompt was "Butterflies", this is the card I have made. 

The central image is actually the mask I used for the "glitter" challenge a few days ago.  I couldn't bring myself to throw it away as it was so pretty - just as well I didn't!

The mask is a stamped image from the Visible Image stamp set called "Butterfly Effect", stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink. It's got lots of different Archival Inks and splatters on it.

In the background, I have used a stencil called "Butterfly Wreath" by Funky Fossil Designs, with "Shadow Grey" Archival Ink, using more ink in the central area and blending out so it is lighter on the edges.

I used foam pads to adhere the butterfly over the wreath.  Then stamped the sentiment, which is part of the Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Birthday", stamped in Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple ink.

I then mounted the card on to a piece of grey paper and then on to a card blank.  Finally adding some dots of Ranger "Enamel Accents" to complete the card.

Clarity Stamps "Wild Flower Spray Stencil" card

A softer more feminine looking card from me this time using a stencil. 

I found a background in my stash that I'd made some months ago using a selection of colours of Distress Oxide inks.  I'd splattered water from a fan paint brush to ge the bleached dots look and the background was just waiting to be used.

I decided to pair the background with a Clarity Stamps stencil called "Wild Flower Spray". I used low tack tape to secure the stencil over the background then used three shades of Versafine Clair inks (Charming Pink, Shady Lane and Warm Breeze) through the stencil.  I then moved the stencil and filled in a few empty spaces with more detail.

After lifting the stencil, I added extra detail to the flowers and foliage by using Van Goch Pastel Pencils, gel pens and a 2B pencil.

I stamped the sentiment by Simon Says Stamp (part of their "Tiny Words - Birthday" stamp set) using Versafine Clair "Charming Pink" ink.  I used the same ink to edge the card using a finger dabber.

Katy Sue Designs "Fabulous Fellas" Brother Birthday Card

I'm trying to get ahead with birthday cards for the next couple of weeks, making this "Brother Birthday Card".

I used a stamp from the Katy Sue Designs "Fabulous Fellas" stamp set, stamped in a fade out ink.

I coloured the stamped image using Derwent Inktense water colour pencils and a 2B pencil.

Around the image, I used a mix of two Distress Oxide Inks (Tea Dye and Shabby Shutters) through the Funky Fossil Designs "Micro Dot Stencil".

The "Brother" sentiment is part of the Katy Sue Designs" "Fabulous Fellas" stamp set, which I stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  Using the same ink, I stamped the "Happy Birthday" which is part of the Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny words - Birthday".

Crafty Individuals Birthday Card

Today I have made a traditional looking Birthday card that reminds me of a Portmeirion pottery design.

The red rubber stamp is one that I have had for years and is mounted on easy mount.  I don't have the packaging, but in the back of my head I think it is by Crafty Individuals.

I stamped the image in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink and coloured using Derwent Inktense water colour pencils and gel pens.

The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp and is part of their "Tiny Words - Birthday" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Rain Forest" green ink.

Penny Black Inc. "Love Life 40-434" Birthday Card

Another card from me today, this time a birthday card. 

I've used a Penny Black Inc. rubber cling stamp called "Love Life 40-434", stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink for the main image.  I used the same ink for the "Happy Birthday" which is part of a Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny words - Birthday".

I used Derwent Inktense water colour pencils, applied with a paint brush to colour the image.

Lavinia Stamps "Stag and Tree of hope" Birthday Card

I've made a birthday card today using Lavinia Stamps, inspired by one of the Lavinia Stamps Design Team members "Annie Gardner Frazer.

I've used the Lavinia Stamps "Flurry" stencil with "Lime Punch" Elements inks for the round background pattern.

I've used Versafine Clair Inks to stamp the "Stag" and the "Tree of hope", colouring the tree with Distress Oxide Inks.

The sentiment, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink is by Simon Says Stamp, from their "Tiny words - Birthday".  I have also used touches of Posca Pens.

Funky Fossil Designs "Beauty's Garden" on a "Baroque" stencilled background

For some reason, I have overlooked the anniversary of our friends, which is tomorrow.  I've made a quick card which will go in the post today, but even though it will go first class postage, it's unlikely to arrive in time. 

I have used the Funky Fossil "Beauty's Garden" stamp set for the central urn, stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.

I masked off the urn and covered the stamped image, then used the Funky Fossil "Baroque" stencil with "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide Ink, applied with a Funky Fossil blending brush.

The "Better Late Than Never" sentiment is part of the Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Birthday", which is also stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Feather" and gilding flake card

I've been playing with a Lavinia Stamp this morning, stamping the "Feather" in Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink over a Distress ink and stencilled background (using the Lavinia "Posy stencil".

I have added gilding flakes to area of the card to provide additional dimension.

I have used a Simon Says Stamp from thier "Tiny Words - Birthday" for the sentiment.

Sweet Poppy Stencil Belated Birthday Card

I've used a couple of Sweet Poppy Stencils (SP6-122 and SP1-269) to create this card using Ranger Archival Inks. 

I used the following Archival Inks through the "Plaid" background stencil:  Buttercup, Chrome Yellow, Sunflower, Tiger Lily and Bright Tangelo, using "Plum" Archival Ink through the floral stencil.

I've used a gel pen to add some golden shimmer, unfortunately the photograph doesn't pick any of it up.  As it is not sunny outside, I've not been able to take a video clip of it either.

For the sentiment I have used a stamp by Simon Says Stamp from their "Tiny Words - Birthday" set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Chianti" dark red ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Minni & Moo" Birthday Card

I'm on a roll, sharing my second card of the day using Lavinia Stamps.

This card was really quick to make.  I masked off the edges of the card, then filled the middle with "Bundled Sage" Distress Oxide Ink.

I then lay the Lavinia "White Orbs Stencil" over the background and applied three shades of Distress oxide Inks through the stencil (Bundled Sage, Victorian Velvet and Tumbled Glass).

I then stamped "Minnie and Moo" mice figures, part of the Lavinia recent release, along with the "Musical Notes small" set, all stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.  I used the same ink to stamp the sentiments, which are part of the Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Birthday".

Finally, I used the "Mini Stars" stamp to stamp around the musical notes.  I used a white gel pen to add highlights and a silver glitter Signo Pen to add a little sparkle.

Penny Black "Guess What?" Birthday Card

I am now working on the birthday cards needed for March.  This one is needed early in the month. 

I used two Penny Black stamps for this card.  For the main image, I used an old wood mounted stamp called "Guess What? - T449K", part of the Margaret Sherry Collection and has been around since the year 2000! I stamped this image in Versafine Clair 'Morning Mist" Grey ink.

I then used the Penny Black Slapstick/Cling "Windswept - 40-790" which is a 2021 release, which I stamped in Verafine Clair "Verdant" green ink.  Funny how these stamps were produced twenty years apart, but work so well with each other.

I coloured the image with an assortment of products, mainly using Distress Oxide inks applied with a paint brush.  I also used Derwent Inktense Pencils and gel roll pens.

The sentiment is part of a Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Birthday" which I have stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.
