Sweet Poppy Stencils "Autumn Leaves" Card

This morning I've been playing with my Sweet Poppy Stencils and stamps to make this card.

I started by stamping the leaves, which is part of the Sweet Poppy Stencils stamp set called "Autumn Leaves".  Stamping in second generation stamping of Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink.

I then used a selection of colours (Sunflower, Orange Blossom, Coffee, Pink Peony, Plum and Peat Moss) of Ranger Archival Inks through the Sweet Poppy "Harmony Backplate Stencil".  Blending the colours out from the middle towards the edges, but retaining white space to allow the eye to settle.

I coloured the leaves using a selection of Derwent Inktense pencils, a 2B pencil and a gel pen.

Over the top of the image, I lay the Sweet Poppy "Grid Plate Stencil" and applied "Prickly Pear" Ranger Archival Ink through the stencil with a blending brush.  This provided the extra texture.

Laying a piece of paper over the leaves, I used a fan shaped paint brush to splatter white paint over the surface of the card, I used Dr. PH Martins Bleed Proof paint.

I then mounted the card on to a kraft card blank, finally stamping the "Follow Your Dreams" sentiment (also part of the Sweet Poppy "Autumn Leaves" stamp set), using Versafine Clair "Chianti" dark red ink.

Sweet Poppy Stencils "Ivy Flourish" Christmas Card

My order of the new Christmas "Botanicals" stamps arrived from Sweet Poppy Stencils, so I wasted no time in trying one of the new stamps out.

I used Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink to stamp the "Ivy Flourish" stamp, colouring it with four shades of Derwent Inktense pencils, applied with a brush.  I used Lime Green, Spring Green, Light Olive and Leaf green.  I then created a slight shadow for the lower leaves by going around the bottom edges of the leaves with a 2B pencil.  I then used a metallic gold gel pen for the veins of the leaves.

I lay the Sweet Poppy "Grid Plate" over the top.  Using a blending brush with "Old Paper" Distress Ink I created a quiet background for the ivy.

I didn't have any suitable Sweet Poppy sentiments, so I used one from a Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Christmas", stamped in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.

Sweet Poppy Stencil "Thistle Stem Stamp" Card

Last week, I entered an Instagram competition to "like, tag & share" their post regarding the release of their new stamps.  I was thrilled to receive a message to say that I was one of the winners.  Today I received my three stamps from the new collection.  I opted for the Foxglove, Poppy and the Thistle Stem.

Today has been a bit busy, so I didn't get to play with the stamps till late evening.  I decided to use the "Thistle Stem" stamp first, stamping it in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink, then colouring the image using Derwent Inktense pencils, sometimes applied with a paint brush and sometimes as a pencil.  I also used a gel pen, a 2B pencil and a Posca Pen.

In the background, I used a Sweet Poppy stencil called "Grid Plate" with "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide Ink, blending tout he colour from right to left.

Finally, I stamped a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Birthday" in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Sweet Poppy Stencils "Blissful" on a Pan Pastel background

Up early this morning as I couldn't sleep, so had a play with Sweet Poppy Stencils making this card.

I found a gel plate background in my stash that I had made months ago, using Pan Pastels.  I thought it had quite a rustic look to it, so I paired it with the Sweet Poppy Stencil called "Blissful" using Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze' Ink to give it a more folk art look.

Around the edge of the card, I used another Sweet Poppy Stencil called "Grid Plate" with the same ink.

I added splatters of white and black Posca Pens and then highlighted areas using a gold gel pen.
