Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 12

It is Day 12 of Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge.  This second week is all about stencils.

For my Day 12, I used Pan Pastels on a gel plate with the Funky Fossil "Lots of pips" stencil to create the background pattern.

Over the top, I used Versafine Clair "Glamorous" pink ink with the Funky Fossil Designs "Urchins" stencil.

I used a Lawn Fawn greetings stamp from their "Simply Sentiments" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Glamorous" ink.  I used the same ink to ink up the edges of the card, before mounting it onto a piece of white card.

Finally, I added dots of white Ranger Enamel Accents, to the surface of the card.

Stampin' Up "Beautiful Friendship" Birthday Card

Here's a card I've made, using a Stampin' Up stamp set that's not seen the light of day for a very long time.

For the roses and leaves in the middle of the card, I have used the Stampin' Up stamp set called "Beautiful Friendship" with Distress Marker Pens using "Peeled Paint" and Worn Lipstick" pens and "Worn Lipstick" and "Picked Raspberry" Distress Oxide Inks.

I gave the background a wash of "Bundled Sage" Distress Oxide Inks.  I then used the "Micro Squares Stencil" by Funky Fossil Designs, with "Prickly Pear" and "Leaf Green" Distress Oxide Inks.

The birthday greeting is by Lawn Fawn, part of their "Simply Sentiments" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.

I inked the edge of the card using the same "Twilight" ink then mounted the card on to dark blue card and then on to a white card blank.  Finally, adding some dots of white Ranger Enamel Accents.

Honey Doo Crafts "Delicious Dahlia" Birthday Card

Another card ticked off my "to make list", this time using a stamp by Honey Doo Crafts.

For the main floral image, I used Versafine Clair "Purple Delight" ink to stamp the "Delicious Dahlia" stamp by Honey Doo Crafts.  Once stamped, I quickly coated the stamped area with Wow! clear embossing powder and then heat set.

I used two shades of Ranger Archival Inks:  Pink Peony and Shadow Grey through the Lavinia Stamps "Dynamic Stencil" to create the background pattern, fading the colour out towards the edges.

I coloured the dahlia blooms using an "Amethyst" Derwent Inktense pencil applied with a pencil.  I then added some splatters of the same colour, across the surface of the card.

Once dry, I used Versafine Clair "Purple Delight" ink to stamp the "Happy Birthday" sentiment and the small outline hearts using a stamp set by Lawn Fawn called "Simply Sentiments".

I then started to add the finishing touches.  I used a yellow and orange Posca Pen for the central areas of the flowers and added dots of Range White Enamel Accents to areas around the stamped flowers.

Lavinia Stamps "Horse & Foal" Birthday Card

It seems like ages since I last used my Lavinia Stamps, but as I needed to make a card for a horse mad young lady, the "Horse & Foal" stamp seemed ideal for the focus of the birthday card.

I used the Sweet Poppy "Circle Aperture" stencil for the central round area.  Using "Sky Blue" Archival Ink with a blending brush to create a very subtle background.  I then lay the Lavinia Stamps "Feather Leaf Stencil" over the top and used the same ink and brush to provide a quiet background pattern.

I was in two minds to keep all the stamping within the circle or let some of it "off the edge".  I decided on the latter.

I stamped the large tree, the Lavinia Stamps "Elm" Tree in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, allowing the branches to extend past the circle edge.  Using the same ink, I stamped the Lavinia "Horse & Foal".

Using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink, I created the landscape using a finger dabber to apply the ink over the torn edge of copy paper.

Using the same ink and the Lavinia Stamps "Small Trees", I stamped the tree images so they looked like they were in the distance.

I used a black pastel pencil to create the impression of shadows from the legs of the horse and foal.  I then used a black fine line pen to give the impression of grass in the foreground.

Finally, I stamped the "Happy Birthday" using the Lawn Fawn "Simply Sentiments" stamp set.

Creative Stamping VW Camper Van Card

I'm back to a cleaner look with this VW Camper Van card using products from several different manufacturers.

I started by stamping the camper van, which was a free stamp within a "Creative Stamping Magazine (Issue 54), stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I then stamped the van again on a post it note, fussy cut the image and popped it over the original stamped image to make a mask.

With the mask in place, I then lay the Sweet Poppy "Aperture Circle Stencil" over the top and coloured the background in "Peat Moss" Archival ink.  I then lay the Clarity "Sunshine Stencil" over the top and applied "Sky Blue" Archival Ink through the stencil.

Removing the stencils, I then coloured the camper van using Derwent Inktense pencils, applied with a paint brush.  I also added touches of silver Gel Pen for the chrome areas of the van.

To finish the card, I stamped "Happy Birthday", which is part of the Lawn Fawn "Simply Sentiments" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I then mounted the card on to co-ordinating card stock and then on to a white 7"x7" card blank.

Funky Fossil "Shellebrate" Birthday Card

I've had a few days away at the caravan, it's nice to have a break from crafting and great to get back to it once home. I have a few birthday cards to make for February.  This one needs to go in the post, so was the first on my list to make.

Using two sets of Funky Fossil Design Stamps:  "Shellebrate" and "Flowery Felines" both designed by the super talented "Donna Gray". I started by stamping the three main images in to position on a piece of white card, using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

I then stamped the same images on another piece of white card using the same ink, but this time not over lapping the images. The reason for me doing this was should my colouring go wrong, I'm not ruining all the work I have done, only one section, which I could then stamp and colour again.

I coloured these stand alone images using a mixture of products:  Derwent Inktense Water Colour Pencils, Gel Pens, Posca Pens and a 2B Pencil too.

Returning to the other card with the stamped images over lapping, I created the background, using "Twisted Citron" and "Mowed Lawn" Distress Oxide Inks for the lower section and "Tumbled Glass" Distress Oxide ink for the sky.  I then inked the edges of the card using "Blueprint Sketch" Distress Oxide Ink.

Using the bunting image from another stamp set designed by Donna Gray for Funky Fossil called "Let's Party" with "Morning Mist" Versafine Clair ink I stamped the bunting a couple of times to meet in the top middle of the card. I used Posca Pens to colour in the bunting.

I then added the "Happy Birthday" sentiment, part of a Lawn Fawn set called "Simply Sentiments", stamped in Versafine Clair Blue Belle" mid blue coloured ink.

Returning to the sheet of coloured in stamped images, I fussy cut all the shapes then adhered into position on to the card. I outlined a lot of the images with a silver glitter Signo Pen, in some instances smudging the pen line to get a more subtle shimmer look.

I added flowers using Posca Pens to the grass area at the foreground and then added Ranger "Glossy Accents" to the eyes and to the shell of the snail shell to provid a more three dimensional look and set aside to dry over night.

Day 16 of "24 Days of Tags 2022" with Karen Telfer

After a fews days break over Christmas, Karen Telfer is back with her "24 Days of Tags 2022" challenge.  You can find her yDay 16 outube demo here.

This is my tag, based on Karens tutorial.  I have used the following Distress Oxide Inks:  Festive Berries, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed for the background, edging the tag in Candied Apple.

After running the heat gun over the surface, I used Wow! Clear Embossing Ink through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous "Rays" stencil.  I then coated the tag in Wow! "Rich Gold" Embossing Powder and heat set.

I used a sentiment from a Lawn Fawn set called "Simply Sentiments" with the same embossing powder and then die cut the sentiment into a banner shape.

Crafty Individuals "Quirky Birds - CI265" Heat Embossed Card

An early start from me today.  While tidying my cardstock, I came across a box of Crafty Individuals red rubber stamps that I've not used since I don't know when!  I keep my stamps in boxes.  Each box is for a different manufacturer.  Some makes have several boxes, where as others just have the one.  This one was pushed right to the back of the cupboard, so it was nice to delve in and remind myself of what I have.

I decided to heat emboss the Crafty Individuals "Quirly Birds - CI265" stamp on to kraft card.  I used a Wow! Clear embossing ink and their "Angel Eyes" embossing powder, then heat set.  I cut down the kraft card to a square, mounted it on to white card, then mounted it on to another kraft layer.

I used the "Happy Birthday" Lawn Fawn clear "Simply Sentiments" stamp and heat embossed the sentiment, using the same products.  I then cut down the kraft card and mounted it on to a white card blank.

This colour combo is one of my favourites, white and kraft always works well, but I love the added turquoise/green touch, it just lifts it beautifully.

Sweet Poppy "Oriental Cherry Blossom SP1-330" on Brusho Card

I fell in love with a Sweet Poppy Stencil called "Oriental Cherry Blossom" so had to order it!.  I came back from a few days away in the caravan and my order had been delivered, so as soon as the unpacking was done and the washing machine was on, I wasted no time in having a play.

I used a small Brusho paint background I had in my stash.  Round the edges of the paint splatters I used another Sweet Poppy stencil called "Plaid Back Plate SP6-122" with two shades of Distress Inks:  Squeezed Lemonade and Ripe Persimmon" this filled in the white areas.

I then lay the Sweet Poppu "Oriental Cherry Blossom" stencil down over the background and using a metal spreader with the Sweet Poppu "Glossy Red Stencil Paste" filled in the areas of the stencil. I then set it aside for an hour or two.

Once dry, I noticed that some of the paste had oozed under the stencil.  I used a white gel pen to fill in the excess red areas.  I used a white and a black Posca Pen to add splatters.

Finally, I used a Lawn Fawn "Hello" sentiment from their "Simply Sentiments" stamp set, stamped in Verafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Maka" Birthday Card

It seems that Lavinia Stamps is my brand of choice at the moment, as here is another birthday card I've made using them.

For this card, I have used a Lavinia "Moon Mask" and then coloured the background sky area with "Violet Chalk" Element ink, then Chipped Sapphire" Distress Oxide ink to give the sky depth.  For the lower area of the card, I have used "Graphite" Elements Ink.

I have used the following Lavinia Stamps, (stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" and "Morning Mist" grey inks).  Maka the sitting wolf, Tree Branch, Gip, Small Branch, Floral Set and Foliage Set.

I have used white, red and purple gelly roll pens for hightlights.

The sentiment is by Lawn Fawn and is part of their "Simply Sentiments" stamp set.

Thanks to Lisa Taggart, who is on the Lavinia Samps Design Team, as I have used some aspects from one of her tutorials for this card.

Art Impressions "Girlfriends - Wine Tasters" Birthday Card

This card was a late evening make, using the Art Impressions "Girlfriends - Wine Tasters" cling stamp for this birthday card for a friend.  I stamped the image using second generation Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" ink as I didn't want hard solid outlines of the image.

I've coloured the image using assorted Distress Oxide Inks, applied with a paint brush.  I've used a Lawn Fawn sentiment stamp from their "Simply Sentiments' stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Medieval Blue" ink.

I stamped the Lawn Fawn sentiment in Wow! clear embossing ink and then covered it with Wow! "Opaque Bright White" embssing powder, then heat set.  Once dry, I die cut the sentiment and adhered over the heart.

Funky Fossil "Let's Party" Birthday Card

I made this card for my Great Niece, who will be celebrating her first birthday.  What a strange first year it must be for her, not meeting people outside her bubble.

I've used two new Funky Fossil products for this card.  The "Ring of Hearts stencil" in the background and the "Let's Party Stamp Set" for the main image.

I used "Festive Berries" Distress Oxide Ink through the "Ring of hearts" stenicl.  I stamped the cake and rabbit on a plain piece of white card and then coloured the image in with a mix of Posca Pens and painted Distress Oxide Inks. Then cut and adhered to the card base.

Finally, I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment, which is part of a Lawn Fawn stamp set called "Simply Sentiments".

Funky Fossil - "In The Spotlight Stencil with Stampers Anonymous Crazy Bird Stamp

Funky Fossil Designs is always bringing out new stencils to tempt me with.  I immediately fell for the "In the spotlight stencil" so it was a must for a card I needed to make for a young man that likes to do a bit of acting.

I used a black card and "Squeezed Lemonade" Distress Oxide Ink through the spotlight stencil.  When applying it had a slight yellow, but once dry it is more grey with a hint of yellow, which is fine for this purpose.

I used a bird from the Stampers Anonymous set called "Crazy Bird" stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink into the middle of the spotlight and also on to a piece of white card.

I coloured the image on the white card using two shades of Distress Oxide Inks (Antique Linen and Rusty Hinge) and then fussy cut the shape and adehered over the stamped image on the spotlight area.

I used a Lawn Fawn stamp set called "Simply Sentiments" for the sentiment, stamped and embossed using Wow! embossing products.

#thedailymarker30day Challenge - Day 1

You may remember last November, I took part in #thedailymarker30day.  It's a challenge where you make time for colouring, using any medium each day.  The challenge is running again from 1st March to 30th March.  Here's the link to the Facebook group.  You can also use the #thedailymarker30day, tagging kathyrac on Instagram too.

I was up early as I couldn't sleep, so decided to get colouring.

For Day 1, I have used a Wild Rose Studio stamp called "Birthday Llama", stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

I coloured the Llama itself using "Antique Linen" and "Spun Sugar" Distress Oxide Ink.  For the remaining colouring I used a selection of Posca Pens.

For the grass I used "Twisted Citron" Distress Oxide ink and Posca Pens to make the flowers on the grass.

The sentiment is part of a Lawn Fawn set called "Simply Sentiments - LF1601" which I stamped in Versafine Clair "Paradise" blue ink.
