52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2024 - Week 33

The Crafting Niche 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2024:

This is a weekly challenge. I provide you with a prompt/theme each Sunday morning through out the year.  The challenge is very relaxed.  You can do as much or as little as you like.  You can create cards, tags, Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) or index cards, the choice is yours. You just go with what ever is in your head at the time.  You can stamp, get inky, use patterned papers, texture, embellish it is all down to you.

There is a dedicated private Facebook Group, with a lovely bunch of people who are already sharing their makes from previous challenges.  You can find the group by clicking this link.  I'd love you to join in.

The prompt for Week 33 is "Kraft"

*****

This is the tag that I have made for the Week 33. Starting with a kraft card tag base, I stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Logan" hare using Versafine Clair "Pinecone" brown ink.

I then used the Lavinia Stamps "Waffle" stencil with "Bundled Sage" Distress Oxide Ink around the hare.

I inked the edges of the tag and then brought the colour in around the hare using Versafine Clair "Pine Cone" brown ink using a finger dabber.

I masked off the hare and added black and white splatters of Posca Pens.  Then added colour to the hare using Derwent Inktense pencils.

Lace "Thank You" Card

Well my crafting mojo is missing at the moment, hence there being so few crafting posts.

A friend recently gifted mea box of crafting goodies, including fabrics, ribbons, laces and various trims.  This is the card I have made using some of the lace and a lace butterfly from the box of crafting items I received.

I used Kraft card and a Lawn Fawn stamp from their "Simply Sentiments" stamp set for the "Thank You" which I heat embossed using Wow! Opaque Vanilla White embossing powder, which I heat set.

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 23

It is Day 23 of the Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge.  The theme for this week is use household items.

How long is a piece of string... For my Day 23, I have used string, a "household item that lingers in the drawer for years and rarely gets used.

I started with a piece of kraft card measuring 5x5".

I used a circle mask to make the background circles, using "Light Gold" Pan Pastel through the mask.  I added splatters of black and white Posca Pen then mounted the card on to a piece of dark blue card and then a piece of white card.

I die cut a circle in the same kraft card, then coated one side with a wet glue and wound the string in circles till I reached the edge of the die cut.  On the underside of the disc, I added foam pads then popped the disc in the middle of the card.  Using wet glue again I drew a trail and stuck the string to it.

I printed out the phrase "How long is a piece of string", cut it to size then mounted the phrase on to a piece of dark blue card, sticking it in position using double sided tape.

Lavinia Stamps "Botanical Blossoms" Tag

My order of the new stamp release from Lavinia Stamps arrived early afternoon, so I wasted no time in getting to play with my favourite stamp from the new release, the "Botanical Blossoms".

I cut a piece of kraft card in to a tag shape, then using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink, stamped the new "Botanical Blossom" stamp, coating the stamped image with Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and then heat setting.

Next I used "Paradise Teal" Ranger Archival Ink through the "Lavinia Stamps "Nimbus Stencil" fading the colour out towards the edges.

I then used Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink to stamp "Words of Spring" in second generation stamping.  I then inked the edges of the tag with Versafine Clair "Twilight" ink.

Finally, I made splatters with a white Posca Pen around the edges of the stamping.  I used a white gel pen to add a little detail to the stamped image and then mounted the tag on to a piece of dark blue card.

Day 7 of "Karen Telfer's 24 Days of Tags 2023" challenge.

I'm still playing catch up with my tags, but I am nearly back on track.  This is my Day 7 tag of "Karen Telfer's 24 Days of Tags 2023" challenge.

Using Kraft card for the base, I splattered Dr PH Martins white bleed proof paint from a fan shaped paint brush to replicate the snow.

Once dry, I stamped the bird which is part of the Tim Holtz / Stampers Anonymous stamp set called "Crazy Birds, using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink. I then stamped the bird again on a piece of white card. I coloured the stamped image on the white card using Derwent Inktense pencils, applied with a paint brush. then fussy cut the body and stuck it over the image on the tag.

I used a Woodware stamp with Versafine Clair "Rain Forest" dark green ink to stamp the holly leaves.  Again, I used Derwent Inktense pencils to colour the leaves then fussy cut them, sticking them into position below the bird.

I used more Dr Ph Martin's white paint to add snow to the edges of the holly leaves, applied with a very fine paint brush.  I then added a little dusting of Pin Flair "Ice Diamond", (it's looks a bit like ice/snow).  I then added some sticky backed red gems for the berries.

I used a Simon Says Stamp for the sentiment, it's part of their "Tiny Words - Christmas" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Finally, to add a little sparkle, I added tiny areas of Lavinia "Moon Dust" silver glitter.

Sweet Poppy Stencils "Lily of the valley" card

Sometimes when I'm laying in bed in the early hours, I get an idea for a card and I can't let the thought go.  I had that problem this morning, so had to get up and make the card and this is it.

I've used one of the new stamps from the Sweet Poppy Stencils "Botanical" range called "Lily of the valley".  I've stamped the flower using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink on Kraft card.

I've coloured the image using Derwent Inktense pencils.  The sentiment is also by Sweet Poppy Stencils but I'm not sure what it is called as I think this set is retired from their range.

Funky Fossil Designs "Festive Phrases" Kraft Christmas Card

I've made another quick make Christmas card, using Kraft card, a couple of dies and a stamp set.

I cut the Funky Fossil Designs "Leafy Circle" wreath die, sadly now retired and then die cut a circle a little larger than the die cut, sticking the die cut on to the circle.

In the middle of the circle, I added some white Pan Pastel to lighten the area.  I then splattered white paint over the kraft/die circle to look like snow flakes.

Once dry, I stuck the craft circle of card on to a piece of white card.

Using Versafine Clair "Tulip Red" ink, I stamped the sentiment, which is part of the Funky Fossil Designs "Festive Phrases" stamp set, which actully has a considerable reduction on the original price at the moment.

Funky Fossil Designs "Star Wreath" and "Nordic Noel" Christmas Card

I've been playing with a selection of Funky Fossil Designs products to make this card using kraft card stock.

I die cut a circle of craft card stock.  I used a foam blender and white Pan Pastel and blended the middle of the card, making it slightly lighter in colour.  I tapped a white Posca Pen over the surface, creating light splatters to replicate distant stars.

Using white card and the Funky Fossil Designs "Star Wreath die" and ran it through the Big Shot.  I adhered the die cut on to the kraft circle, adding a selection of the stars that come as part of the die cut. I then glued the circle on to white card and then on to a kraft card blank.

On an off-cut of white card stock, I stamped the two gnomes, which are part of the Funky Fossil "Nordic Noel" stamp set, using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I then immediately sprinkled the stamped area with Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.

I coloured the gnomes using an assortment of Distress Oxide Inks (Weathered Wood, Mowed Lawn, Festive Berries and Worn Lipstick) applied with a paint brush. I then fussy cut the gnomes and adhered into position over the wreath.

Finally, using Versafine Clair "Chianti" dark red ink, I stamped the "Gnome For Christmas" sentiment, which is also part of the Funky Fossil "Nordic Noel" stamp set.

Crafty Individuals "Quirky Birds - CI265" Heat Embossed Card

An early start from me today.  While tidying my cardstock, I came across a box of Crafty Individuals red rubber stamps that I've not used since I don't know when!  I keep my stamps in boxes.  Each box is for a different manufacturer.  Some makes have several boxes, where as others just have the one.  This one was pushed right to the back of the cupboard, so it was nice to delve in and remind myself of what I have.

I decided to heat emboss the Crafty Individuals "Quirly Birds - CI265" stamp on to kraft card.  I used a Wow! Clear embossing ink and their "Angel Eyes" embossing powder, then heat set.  I cut down the kraft card to a square, mounted it on to white card, then mounted it on to another kraft layer.

I used the "Happy Birthday" Lawn Fawn clear "Simply Sentiments" stamp and heat embossed the sentiment, using the same products.  I then cut down the kraft card and mounted it on to a white card blank.

This colour combo is one of my favourites, white and kraft always works well, but I love the added turquoise/green touch, it just lifts it beautifully.

Funky Fossil "Hello Gorgeous" Kraft Card

It is horrendous outside tonight.  I slept for a couple of hours to be woken by very strong winds and now rain hammering on the windows, so decided to get up and craft with soothing music in the background.

I made these two clean and simple cards using Kraft card as the base.  I used the Funky Fossil "Hello Gorgeous" clear stamp set with a Wow!  Clear embossing ink and Wow! Bright White Super Fine Embossing Powder.  I'm really happy with the finished result too.
