Lavinia Stamps "Coven of Curiosities - Make 11 - Tag Tuesday

I've been up stupidly early, 1:30am to be exact as I couldn't sleep.  Too much "stuff" whirling round my head.  So I decided to get up and potter in the craft room, eventually making a tag.

I used the Lavinia Stamps "Waffle Stencil" for the background, with grey and blue ink that was on my blending brush from a previous project. I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink to stamp "Penelope", "Specter the raven" and the "Hallowmere" sign post,

I used a moon mask and Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink for the spotlight/moon, filling the area with a subtle glitter from using a "Wink of Steller".  I then used the same ink with the torn edge of a piece of copy paper to create the landscape.  Using a 2B pencil and black fine liner for shadows and grass, adding a touch of colour with Posca Pens for the flowers and a white gel pen on "Penelope" the witch.

Lavinia Stamps "Vine" Just For You card

A quick clean and simple card made using Lavinia Stamps.  I used the Lavinia "Vine" stamp with Versafine Clair "Hawthorne Rose" ink.  I stamped the sentiment in the same ink.  The sentiment is part of the Lavinia Stamps "Heartfelt Verse" sentiment stamp set.

In the background, I have used "Sky Blue " Ranger Archival Ink through the Lavinia "Waffle" stencil.  I finished the card by adding white dots of Ranger Enamel Accents.

52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2024 - Week 33

The Crafting Niche 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2024:

This is a weekly challenge. I provide you with a prompt/theme each Sunday morning through out the year.  The challenge is very relaxed.  You can do as much or as little as you like.  You can create cards, tags, Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) or index cards, the choice is yours. You just go with what ever is in your head at the time.  You can stamp, get inky, use patterned papers, texture, embellish it is all down to you.

There is a dedicated private Facebook Group, with a lovely bunch of people who are already sharing their makes from previous challenges.  You can find the group by clicking this link.  I'd love you to join in.

The prompt for Week 33 is "Kraft"

*****

This is the tag that I have made for the Week 33. Starting with a kraft card tag base, I stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Logan" hare using Versafine Clair "Pinecone" brown ink.

I then used the Lavinia Stamps "Waffle" stencil with "Bundled Sage" Distress Oxide Ink around the hare.

I inked the edges of the tag and then brought the colour in around the hare using Versafine Clair "Pine Cone" brown ink using a finger dabber.

I masked off the hare and added black and white splatters of Posca Pens.  Then added colour to the hare using Derwent Inktense pencils.

Lavinia Stamps "Snail House" New Home Card

I've been away in Tenerife, enjoying some winter sun, which was very much needed.  At long last I have shaken off the awful cough and pneumonia, which I am very glad about.

While we were away, Lavinia Stamps released a new collection.  I ordered it and it arrived yesterday, just in time for me to play.

I used Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink to stamp the new Lavinia "Snail House", "Thistlecap Mushrooms" and a word from their "Words from the heart" stamp set.

I coloured the image using various colours of Derwent Inktense Pencils using a paint brush to apply the colour.  I added dots of orange, yellow and red Posca Pens for the tiny flower heads and a white gel pen for highlights to various areas of the image.

In the background, I have used the Lavinia Stamps "Waffle" stencil with "Sky Blue" coloured Ranger Archival Ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Carriage Dwelling" New Baby Card

I'm sharing a card I made a while back but for some reason didn't upload it.  The card features a Lavinia stamps stencil and stamp.

I masked off the left and bottom edges of the card, using low tack tape.

I stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Carriage Dwelling stamp" using Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink.  I used the same ink to stampe the Personal Impressions sentiment (sorry, I don't know the reference number or name of the stamp set).

I made a mask of the carriage, by stamping the image on to a post-it note and then fussy cutting the shape, popping it over the stamped image on the card.

I lay the Lavinia Stamps "Waffle Stencil" over the top of the card and used two shades of Ranger Archival Ink through the stencil, using "Shadow Grey" at the bottom and "Periwinkle" for the higher area, fading the colour out towards the top and the right hand side.

I used Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink with a Lavinia Stamps "Hill Mask" to create the ground the carriage stands on.

Finally, I coloured the carriage using Derwent Inktense pencils water colour pencils applied with a paint brush.  I used a green fine liner pen to draw the grass adding little dots of pink Posca Pen for the flowers.  I use "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide Ink, applied with a paint brush for the smoke coming out of the chimney of the carriage.

I removed the stencil and the mask and coloured the carriage uisng

Lavinia Stamps "Winter Whispers" Christmas Joy Card

I'm still playing with the new release from Lavinia Stamps, making this quick card.

For the background, I used Vibrant Fuchsia, blending it from the right hand side across to the left.  I then lay the Lavinia Stamps "Waffle" stencil over the top and applied the same ink through the stencil.

Using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink, I stamped the new "Christmas Joy" tree and the "Seasons Greetings" which is part of the new Lavinia Stamps "Christmas Greetings" stamp set.

I coloured the tree using a selection of gel pens.  I then added a light dusting of white acrylic paint splatters before mounting the card on to a piece of green paper and then on to a white card blank.

Lavinia Stamps "Winter Whispers" Forest Leaf gift tag

While the new release by Lavinia Stamps, called "Winter Whisper" stamps were out on my desk, I decided to make a tag.

I stamped the new "Forest Leaf" stamp in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.  I then coloured the leaves using rwo shades of Derwent Intense pencils (Apple Green and Mineral Blue). I then coated the leaves with "A Wink of Stella".

I used one of the small Lavinia Stamps blending brushes, to apply "Shadow Grey" Archival ink through the Lavina "Waffle Stencil".  I then used the remaining blue ink on a large blending brush to fade the colour out towards the top and the left hand side.

I used a small Lavinia "Berry" stamp with "Chianti" Versafine Clair ink, I then coated the berries in red Posca Pen and added some touches of white to give the impression of light hitting them.

Finally, using a fan shaped paint brush, I splattered the surface of the tag with small dots of gold paint.  Once dry, I then mounted the tag on to a piece of dark green card.

Lavinia Stamps "Flower Pots" Card

Moving away from pumpkins today, I thought I would use of the quieter, less obvious stamp sets which is part of the new release from Lavinia Stamps, using the "Flower Pots" set.

I used two lengths of low tack tape to provide an area I could stencil through.  I lay the Lavinia Stamps "Waffle Stencil" over the card and used "Violet" Archival Ink to create the patterned horizontal band across the card.

I stamped the new Lavinia "Flower Pots" in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist".  While the ink was out, I also stamped the "With Love" sentiment, which is part of the Lavinia "Heartfelt Verse" stamp set.

I stamped the lavender (also part of the flower pots set) in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" for the stems and "Monarch" purple for the flower heads. I then stamped the green foliage in the other post using Versafine Clair "Verdant" green ink.

I coloured the flower pots using "Burnt Orange" Derwent Inktense pencil, applied with a paint brush.

Finally, moving on to the grounding of the pots, I used a paint brush to paint "Lost Shadow" Distress Oxide Ink.  I added a touch of 2B penil right below the pots for a little depth of shadow.

Lavinia Stamps "Midnight Meandering" rabbits congratulations card

Back to my "go to" style of crafting with Lavinia Stamps making this "congratulations card.

I started by stamping the Lavinia Stamps "Midnight Meandering" rabbits in second generation stamping using Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink.

In the background, I then stamped the foliage using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" with the Lavinia "Leaf Spray" and "Foliage Set" stamps.

I then used two shades of Ranger Archival Inks:  Leaf Green and Cornflower Blue through the Lavinia Stamps "Waffle" stencil, fading the colour out towards the edges.

I moved on to the finishing touches using gel pens and Posca Pens for the flowers.  I touched up the colour of the rabbits using Van Goch Pastel Pencils, then finally stamped the "congratulations" sentiment (part of a Simon Says "Tiny Words" stamp set) in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Large Key" new home card

So back to a quieter looking card with a clean and simple design which was quick to make too!

I used an anti-static bag (filled with French Chalk) across the surface of the card before stamping, in an attempt to keep any stray embossing granules from sticking where they shouldn't be.

Using the Wow! Embossing Clear ink pad I stamped the new Lavinia Stamps "Large Key" in the middle of the card.  I then coated the stamped image with Wow! Rich Gold embossing powder and heat set.

Using Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink, I stamped the Lavinia "Pixy Houses" along the top of the key.  I also stamped the "Welcome Home" sentiment, which is part of the Simon Says Stamps "Tiny Words" stamp set.

Next I used "Shadow Grey" Ranger Archival Ink, applied very lightly with a blending brush through the Lavinia Stamps "Waffle" stencil.

Finally, I added touches of metallic gold pen to the windows of the central house and added some smoke coming out of the chimney using a pencil.

Lavinia Stamps "Ginger" in a nest

Another Lavinia Stamps card from me today, this time using three of the new release stamps.

To start, I stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Head-dress" upside down, using Versafine Clair "Charming Pink" ink. I stamped it again on a post-it note and fussy cut the top area, before positioning it over the original stamped image on the white piece of card.

With the mask in position, I stamped "Ginger" the owl, which is the medium sized own of the three new releases by Lavinia Stamps.  I stamped using Versafine Clair "Fantasia" ink. I repeat stamped the owl on a post-it note and fussy cut it so that it would be a mask.

Incidentally, with the masks I make, I don't bin them after one project, I keep them in a plastic wallet with the stamp for future use.  It saves a few moments of stamping and cutting, which I am all for!

I put some "Tumbled Glass" Distress Oxide Ink on to my glass mat, diluted it slightly with a spritz of water then applied the colour in a mottled style around the masked area of the head-dress and owl.  I then decided to add a touch of "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide Ink, applied in the same way.  I then gave the surface a blast of the heat gun to dry it fully.

Once dry, I lay the Lavinia Stamps "Waffle" stencil over the top of the piece of card.  Using a blending brush, I applied "Wilted Violet" Distress Oxide Ink through the stencil, lightly at first and then with slightly more pressure towards the edges of the card.

I used a finger dabber, with Versafine Clair "Fantasia" ink around the edge of the card to make the central area colour pop more.

I then popped a dab of Dr PH. Martin's Bleed Proof white paint on to my glass mat, added a touch of water then used a fan shaped paint brush to create the splatters across the surface of the card.  I then set it aside to dry for a few minutes, while I tidied my desk up.

Once dry, I removed the two paper masks and stamped some extra branches around the nest.head-dress using the Lavinia Stamps "Woodland Set" with Versafine Clair "Charming Pink" ink.

I stamped the sentiment, which is part of the Lavinia "Heartfelt Verse" stamp set using Versafine Clair "Fantasia" ink. I then mounted the card on to a piece of purple cardstock and then glued it into position on a white card blank.

Now it was time to colour in the main image.  I used a selection of Derwent Inktense Pencils applied with a paint brush.  These are the shades I used:  Fuchsia, Mauve, Violet Blue, Malibu and Mineral Blue. I then added touches of Posca Pens and Gel Pens to add extra depth of colour and a lovely glitter look to areas too.  Finally, in the nest area, I added touches of Ranger White Enamel Accents and Liquid Pearls Blackberry.

Lavinia Stamps "Erwin the owl" card

This afternoon, my order of the new release of stamps by Lavinia Stamps arrived.  I'm always quite strict with myself when I receive new Lavinia products by listing them on my spreadsheet and re-packing them in plastic wallets as the film pocket that the stamps arrive in tear easily. While detailing and repacking the stamps, it provides me with an opportunity to look at them and throw some ideas around my head of how I can use them.

I decided "Erwin" the largest owl would be used first, which I paired with the new "Vine Branch".

I stamped "Erwin" in Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink.  I then multi stamped the new "Vine Branch" in Versafine Clair 'Shady Lane" green ink.

I then used two shades of Ranger Archival Ink:  Prickly Pear and Leaf Green through the Lavinia "Waffle" stencil.

I used a selection of products for colouring the image, starting with Derwent Inktense pencils, gel pens and Posca Pens.

I then decided that the branches needed something else, so used the shorter dangly branch from the "Foliage Set" with Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" in first and second generation stamping.  I then added yellow and orange Posca Pens to add some flowers to the end of them.

Lavinia Stamps "Lavender - Just for you" card

Here's a quick card I made this morning using a couple of Lavinia Stamps.

I started with a 5x5 card blank.  In the bottom right hand corner I started to stamp the Lavinia Stamps "Lavender" using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" for the stems and "Purple Delight" for the flower heads.  I multi stamped in both first and second generation stamping.

I lay the Lavinia Stamps "Waffle Stencil" over the top of the stamping, applying "Shadow Grey" Archival Ink through the stencil with a blending brush, keeping the stencil design close to the stamping and fadeing out towards the top and the left.

To ground the stamping, I used "Mowed Lawn" and "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide inks, slightly diluted and applies with a paint brush.  When dry, I used a 2B pencil to make the area a little darker in the shadow areas.

Lavinia Stamps "Feather" on a Brusho and stencilled background

After making relatively clean cards in the past day, this evening I have gone all out to fill all the white space.  It's one extreme to another!

I started with a Brusho background I had made a while back.  I rubbed an anti-static bag over the surface of the card then stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Feather" and a sentiment from the "Heartfelt Verse" stamp set in Versafine Clair Medieval Blue.  I immediately coated stamped images in Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and heat set using a heat gun.

I used "Bright Tangelo" Archival Ink through areas of the Lavinia "Elegance" Stencil. I then used "Cobalt" Archival Ink through the Lavinia Stamps "Waffle" stencil, trying not to overlap the stamped images, so each were allowed to breathe and highlight the design of each stencil.

Finally, I inked the edges of the card using Versafine Clair "Medieval Blue" ink, then mounted it on to a dark blue card before placing on a card blank.

Lavinia Stamps "Rose Wreath" Card

I'm still playing with the new Lavinia Stamps.  I seem to be swinging from one busy card, to a quieter design.  With this card, I have used a selection of old and new stamps.

To make this card, I started by stamping the wreath, using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink to stamp the left and right "Wreath Flourish Stamps". I then coloured the leaves, by painting with Derwent Inktense water colour pencils.

I then filled in the cetral wreath area using "Coffee" Archival Ink through the new Lavinia "Waffle Stencil" with a very small stencil brush.

Next I used the new Lavinia "Rose Set" for the roses, stamping in Versafine Clair "Chianti" which is a dark red ink.  I then coloured the roses using Derwent Inktense Water Colour Pencils, applied with a brush.

I decided more foliage was needed, so added some using the Lavinia "Flower Collection" and "Foliage Set" stamped in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" and "Acorn" ink. I added touches of gel pen to replicate tiny flowers.

Finally, I stamped the "Just For You" sentiment, which is part of the Lavinia "Heartfelt Verse" stamp set, stamping in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Winged Heart" Steampunk card

Today, I received delivery of my new Lavinia Stamps goodies.  A few days ago, they released eleven new stencils and twenty-three new stamp sets.  The stamps are on a steampunk theme.  The stencil designs are fabulous and I'm sure they will be appearing in lots of my future makes.

Here's a short video clip of the card, as the photograph doesn't really show the clear embossing of the cogs to the side of the wings.

On a gel plate, I brayered Lime Punch and Bermuda Elements Inks.  Using a fan paint brush, I splattered some water on to the plate.  I then added some "Confetti" elements inks to my glass mat, added a little water then used the fan paint brush to splatter coloured droplets of water on to the plate.  I popped a piece of white card on to the gel plate, smoothing the surface of the card so that it had full contact with the gel plate, then lifted the card to reveal the image.

I used the heat gun to dry the surface of the card, then cut the piece of card down to size as it was an odd shape.

I stamped the text in the middle of the card using the Lavinia Stamps "Steampunk Script" stamp with Versafine Clair "Charming Pink' ink.

I used the new Lavinia Stamps "Honeycomb Stencil" with "Pink Peony" Archival Ink in a few areas around the text. I then used another new stencil called "Waffle" with "Vibrant Fuchsia" and "Plum" Archival Ink in other areas.

Next I stamped the central "Small Heart" over the text using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink, to get my placement for the wings.  I then coated an off-cut of card in "Peat Moss" Archival ink, ran an antistatic bag across the surface, then stamped the heart using Wow! Clear Embossing Ink Pad, I then coated the image with "Wow! Rich Gold Super Fine" embossing powder and heat set.  Once cooled, I fussy cut the heart, edging the heart with Versafine Clair "Charming Pink" ink and set to one side.

Returning to the card itself, I used Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink to stamp the "Angel Wings Large", I quickly coated the stamped wings with Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.

I dusted the surface of the card with an anti-static bag again then usine Wow! Clear Embossing Ink and Wow! Clear Embossing Powder I stamped and heat set the cogs, from the "Cog Set 2" stamp set.

Using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink, I stamped the numer 4, which is part of the Lavinia "Numbers" stamp set.

I edged the card with Versafine Clair "Charming Pink" ink then a very thin edge of Versafine Clair "Glarmorous" pink ink.  I then adhered on to pink card and then on to a white card blank.

I added some touches of metallic gold to the wings using a gel pen. then added a few dots of glue to stick the chain in to position.  Returning to the heat embossed heart, I added some foam pads to the background and adhered over the grey stamped image of the heart.
